Concerns and issues in developing and industrializing ITS in China

Abstract:Intelligent transportation system (ITS) is one of the advance options to improve traffic congestion and safety in China. This paper introduces the evolution and development of ITS in developed countries. In order to effectively and efficiently develop ITS and industrialize ITS products in China, the government has focused on developing ITS development strategies. Some technical and institutional concerns and issues in developing and industrializing ITS in China were described. Some macroscopic developing models related to policies, objectives and government efforts were proposed.
