Abstract:The state-of-the-art and technical trends of intelligent and connected vehicle (ICV) are illustrated.The ICV system architecture included the value chain,technology chain and industrial chain.The four stages of ICVs were the advanced assistance,connected assistance,cooperative automation and highly/fully automated driving.Some key technologies of ICVs were introduced such as environmental perception,decision making,dynamical control,human-machine copilot,V2X communication and platform,cyber security.Therefore,China should develop the ICV industry rely on the top-down design by using the national institutional advantages because the ICV will be an important direction of the automotive technology in the future,and the ICV development is a great opportunity for the transformation and upgrading of China's automobile industry.

Abstract:Based on the background that test demand of intelligent and connected vehicles is urgently needed due to the scarcity of professional testing ground in China, this paper introduces the development of some established proving grounds for intelligent and connected vehicles in foreign countries, overview, characteristics as well as features of several typical proving grounds are summarized and analyzed. Finally, according to the development of intelligent and connected vehicles and traffic uniqueness in China, the paper presents the core concept that proving ground for intelligent and connected vehicle in China shall take a step-by-step construction mode, advice is given to the construction of similar domestic proving grounds designed for intelligent and connected vehicles regarding road environment, affiliated infrastructure, auxiliary testing equipment and connected vehicle testing.

Abstract:With the rapid development of control,perception,communication and actuator technology,the intelligent vehicle based on electrification,automation and networking has become a major trend in the automotive industry.At the same time,the challenges posed by the intelligent vehicle have raised great interest.From the perspective of automotive automation and intelligent development process,automobile intelligentization can be divided into four stages including driver-assist,semi-automatic,highly automated and fully automated.This paper introduces two technical routes of the present automotive intelligence research which are dominated by automobile enterprises and research institutes.Also given are deep analysis of the characteristics and meanings for each aforementioned development stage of automobile intelligentization.The challenging problems of automobile intelligentization such as multi-source information fusion,intelligent car control architecture,interactive driving are summarized.Finally,some suggestions on the intelligent development of Chinese automobile enterprises are given.

Abstract:Given their large retention number worldwide, vehicles, as a very important part of the emerging Internet of Things, have been stably evolving toward becoming highly connected, intelligent, and autonomous. Since the very first experiment on an American Wonder by Francis P Houdina in 1925, autonomous driving has attracted intensive research interest from standards organizations, industry, as well as academia. In this article, we first present an overview of the current progress and achievements, then envision the future evolution directions of autonomous driving systems. Besides describing the representative functional modules, we also discuss the critical enabling technologies, and identify the security concerns and corresponding countermeasures.

Abstract:Purpose - The rapid development of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles (ICVs) has boomed a new round of global technological and industrial revolution in recent decades. The Technology Roadmap of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles (2020) comprehensively analyzes the technical architecture, research status and future trends of ICVs. The methodology that supports the roadmap should get studied. Design/methodology/approach - This paper interprets the roadmap from the aspects of strategic significance, technical content and characteristics of the roadmap, and evaluates the impact of the roadmap on researchers, industries and international strategies. Findings - The technical architecture of ICVs as the "three rows and two columns" structure is studied, the methodology that supported the roadmap is explained with a case study and the influence of key technologies with proposed development routes is analyzed. Originality/value - This paper could help researchers understand both thoughts and methodologies behind the technology roadmap of ICVs.

Abstract:The concept of intelligent environment-friendly vehicle (i-EFV) and recent research progress were annotated to explore the next generation of vehicle. The i-EFV integrates three main components including intelligent information interaction, clean energy powertrain and electrified chassis while employing key technologies of structure sharing design, data fusion and control coordination to achieve comprehensive performance, in terms of traffic safety, comfortableness, fuel efficiency and environmental protection. Abstract:Intelligent vehicles are an application in which the words "intelligent autonomous systems" represent not only an important research topic but also a strategic solution to the mobility problems that may arise in the coming years. Vehicles that can move autonomously and navigate in everyday traffic, on highways, and in urban and unstructured scenarios will become a reality in the next few decades. Besides the obvious advantages of increasing road safety and improving the quality and efficiency of moving people and goods around, the integration of intelligent features and autonomous functionalities in vehicles will lead to major economic benefits, including reduced fuel consumption, efficient exploitation of the road network and reduced personnel. Furthermore, it is not only the automotive field (public transportation, trucks and automobiles) that is interested in these new technologies, but also other sectors, each with its own target (industrial vehicles, military systems, mission-critical systems and unmanned rescue robots). In this article, the author surveys the major intelligent vehicle projects and activities worldwide, covering not only automotive applications but also special vehicles.
