Abstract:Ecosystem health is an integrative study for human activities, socio-economic organizations, the natural systems and human health, and it is the prerequisite for sustainable development of human society. A large number of domestic and overseas studies has been made for different types of ecosystem health, results show that in time domain ecosystem health has the ability of maintaining its organization structure, self-adjustment, and recovering from stress damage,to realize its stability and sustainability. The rural ecosystem is a kind of Nature-Artificial complex ecosystem. Based on the integrative analysis of concept of agro-ecosystem health and urban ecosystem healthy, it is put forward that in rural region of different area,the rural ecosystem health refers to the summation of the mutual energy relations between different ecosystem, and the mutual influence between rural population and surrounding environment. The rural ecosystem health refers to the rural environment health objective, the ecosystem vitality objective, the agricultural production and the rural enterprise development objective, which can be achieved in the rural ecosystem, and it has certain ability of self-adjustment and the recovery from stress damage. By means of analyzing the adopted ecosystem health evaluation indicator system, and combining with the characteristic of rural ecosystem, a simple rural ecosystem health assessment framework comprised of the rural environment health objective, the ecosystem vitality objective and the functionality objective is established, to definite the connotation of rural ecosystem health and establish a preliminary basis for related evaluation studies.
