Abstract:The ionization cross sections for excited Ne-like ions were calculated by means of detailed configuration distorted-wave born approximation. The weighted-mean values agree well with the results by using average configuration distorted-wave born approximation calculation. The calculation shows that it is important to use detailed configuration calculation for highly excited ions. The cross section of each state mainly depends on its ionization energy.

Electron impact ionization cross section for excited state of Ne-like ions in detailed configuration
