Abstract:A calculated flow feedback control method, which takes advantage of pressure difference sensing technique, is introduced. Results show that not only high static flow control accuracy is obtained, its dynamic characteristic is also being satisfied.

Abstract:To resolve the fluctuation problem of dynamic response and steady-state error under different load flow and load force in the fluid power system with separate control of actuator ports,the feedforward and feedback control strategy based on static operation points compensation was presented.The choosing of the flow conductances of meter-in and meter-out orifices under the consideration of velocity sensitivity was analyzed.The method is proved effective on improving response and anti-interference under various work conditions.

Abstract:The fuzzy PID control method is applied to ultrahigh pressure test rig,and the ultrahigh pressure's accu rate control is realized.Firstly,the ultrahigh pressure implementation scheme is designed for ordinary proportional relief valve which can't achieve ultrahigh pressure.Secondly the simulation model is built by AMESim,and the feasibility of the scheme is verified,and the key parameters such as the liquid resistance size,the displacement and the rev range of the ultrahigh pressure pump are determined.Then,the fuzzy PID controller is designed by the toolbox Fuzzy of MATLAB and the AMESim-Simulink co-simulation to overcome the traditional PID control's weakness.Finally,the experimental platform of Real-Time xPC Target is built,and the experiment is conducted to validate the fuzzy PID control method.The experiment results show that the overshoot and control accuracy of the system are all improved.

Abstract:Compared with the traditional hydraulic regulating speed system,variable-frequency regulating speed technology,applied in hydraulic system,brings more advantages.A variable-frequency regulating hydraulic simulative system was designed based on Matlab/Simulink.The simulation emphasis focused on the vector control regulating speed system of asynchronous motor.Simulation curves show that using the closed-loop vector control method,the system has better dynamic performance.

Abstract:Numerical methods are adopted to investigate the flow field of zero net mass flux actuator,including the supersonic inlet flow field with actuator.The Roe upwind scheme and the fully implicit dual-time step method are utilized for spatial discretization and time marching respectively.The parallelized deforming grid algorithm based on transfinite interpolation is used to simulate the unsteady flow fields with moving boundaries,considering the geometric conservation law.The influence of driving frequency on zero net mass flux actuator is analyzed to study the unsteady characteristics of zero net mass flux.Furthermore,the different effects of flow control by zero net mass flux flow actuator in supersonic inlet flow field are derived using different driving frequencies.The results show that numerical methods are suitable to represent zero net mass flux and the actuator can effectively improve the supersonic performance.
Analysis of Pressure and Flow Compound Control Characteristics of an Independent Metering Hydraulic System Based on a Two-Level Fuzzy Controller

Abstract:An independent metering valve control hydraulic system (IMVCHS) adopts two independent valves to separately control the meter-in and meter-out orifices. This structure increases the degree of freedom of the control, and improves its flexibility and energy-saving performance. In this study, an IMVCHS was established that applies a control system developed to research the pressure and flow compound control performance. A two-level fuzzy control algorithm based on the calculated flow rate feedback from the spool displacement was proposed to realize high precision flow control, and the two-level fuzzy control algorithm based on the pressure feedback was also adopted to enhance the pressure performance under a dynamic load. A simulation model was established, and its key parameters identified experimentally using the simulated load of a hydraulic bridge circuit. The experimental results show that the proposed flow controller has higher control accuracy with an error of less than 2%, and the flow adjustment time for 40 L/min step control is 320 ms. The pressure controller with a two-level closed-loop fuzzy algorithm can significantly improve these pressure dynamic and static performances, and achieve a step response time of less than 180 ms. Combining the pressure and flow controllers, the pressure and flow compound control of the IMVCHS is realized, and the capacity for coping with load fluctuations is also identified, with compound adjustment times of generally less than 200 ms, and occasionally less than 100 ms. This control system therefore achieves a good performance for pressure and flow compound control, and is able to widen the application of independent metering control technology.

Abstract:Flow control is one of the most important valve functions which can be realized using the signal obtained by flow meters. However, flow meters are not suitable for being installed on fast response systems or in compact space due to slow response and large volume. This paper proposes a computational flow feedback control method using a flow inferential measurement method and a proportional integral controller. The flow inferential measurement method uses an AdaBoost neural network to learn flow change regulation affected by spool displacement, pressure differential, and temperature with high accuracy and low overfitting. The flow calculation model is analyzed by global sensitivity analysis to find the effect proportion of each factor, and piecewise wavelet filter is used to reduce the noise effect of the key signal in the calculation. The AdaBoost neural network is found to be capable of recognizing the characteristic shapes of the flow function with an accuracy of ±2%. The controller receives the accurately calculated flow and adjusts the spool displacement to control the flow. The performance of the flow control method is evaluated in the experiments. The control error is controlled within ±3% and the effectiveness of the method is validated.

Abstract:For the purpose of improving control performance of water hydraulic proportional valve,the PDBV type water hydraulic proportional pressure relief valve of TIEFENBACH was investigated through structure analysis and experiment.The experimental results of static control performance show that the hysteresis and dead band are large under open-loop control due to friction,steady flow force and hysteresis of electromagnetic actuator,etc.As a result,the closed-loop control is unstable.Aiming at decrease of hysteresis and dead band,the sectional linear inverse model of valve hysteresis was built based on least-square linear regression.With the experimental results,the hysteresis and dead band are greatly decreased through feed-forward static compensation.However,large overshoot and great pressure impact are induced.For the reason that linear controllable range among the input signal increase is much less than the decrease,the pulse feedback of the inlet pressure is applied on the increase side.It is shown that the overshoot and pressure impact are eliminated by a large margin.This contributes to improve the valve control performance and further extend the application of water hydraulic pressure proportional control.

Abstract:A water pressure control method was proposed based on electro-hydraulic pressure control in order to simulate the dynamic water pressure of the special equipment worked and test the performance of sealing device.A large closed volume water pressure control system,including the pressure transfer device and electro-hydraulic pressure control system,was designed.A Fuzzy+PID compound control strategy was proposed by analyzing the model of the water pressure control system.Experimental results show that the control range of the pressure is from 0.1 MPa to 10 MPa,the steady-state error is ±0.04 MPa,and the maximum slope trail is ±2 MPa/s.

Abstract:The components and work principle of the separate meter in and separate meter out (SMISMO) load sensing electro hydraulic system were introduced. The simulation model of studied system was built, a flow rate and pressure controller was designed to control both velocity of piston in the cylinder and pressure in the cylinder chamber. The flow rate controller was designed based on the calculation flow rate feedback, and the pressure flow compound control was realized based on the pressure close loop pressure controller. Simulation and experiment showed that the novel control system possessed high velocity control precise and good energy saving characteristics, the effects of SMISMO valve element frequency and damping on system control performance were studied by simulation. It provided theory support for design and application of the novel system.

Abstract:This study presents the static and dynamic characteristics of load-sensing and pressure-compensated directional control valve under the working conditions. A mathematical model is developed, two types of working conditions are presented through the static work point calculation. The static characteristic is analyzed by simulation, and the conclusion is validated by experiments. Solution procedure of the flow gain transfer function and flow-pressure coefficient transfer function is detailed introduced based on the above static computation, and their dynamic characteristic is analyzed by using Bode diagram. Finally, three types of compensatory modes are proposed, which provides very useful value and significance for the hydraulic component or system design and parameters optimization.
Design of Pilot-Assisted Load Control Valve for Proportional Flow Control and Fast Opening Performance Based on Dynamics Modeling

Abstract:This paper presents a flow control performance design method of pilot-assisted load control valve (LCV) based on dynamics modeling. Good flow control performance has both static and dynamic aspects for an LCV. In static aspect, proportional flow control is required, which means the static flow through the valve can be proportionally controlled by pilot pressure. In dynamic aspect, fast opening performance is required, which means the desired flow can be fast provided but without overshoot when given a step pilot pressure. Good flow control performance of an LCV is the key to improve the system performance and to reduce the system complexity. In the method proposed by this paper, a static model of the static flow control performance based on hydraulic half bridge analysis was built to determine the area-displacement features of two key orifices to achieve proportional flow control. In addition, a dynamic model of the spool motions was provided to study the compensation orifice effect on the opening performance of the valve and further to determine the optimized orifice size. An actual LCV was developed according to above method. Tests were carried out both on a mobile crane and a test rig to validate its static and dynamic flow control performance, respectively. The good flow control performance of the valve in the tests indicates that the proposed method can provide theoretical guidance for pilot-assisted LCV design. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. Abstract:This paper reports the research of proportion flow control with back-pressure compensation feature on an LCV (load control valve). The back-pressure compensation feature means when back-pressure rises, flow of the LCV can be unchanged or lower. The back-pressure compensation feature is very important to the safety of the system, because high back-pressure will make the main valve open larger and lowering speed be undesired faster. In this paper, static equilibrium equations of LCV were established and influence relationship of back-pressure and other parameters was derived. In addition, back-pressure influence was simulated, based on above analysis a preliminary optimization scheme was proposed and tested. After that, the method of back-pressure compensation was proposed and has been verified by simulation. Finally, an LCV with back-pressure compensation feature was tested on the test rig. Experiment data validates that the main flow of the LCV with back-pressure compensation method was lower under a higher back-pressure and the pilot pressure control region was unchanged.
A Novel Control Strategy for Pilot Controlled Proportional Flow Valve With Internal Displacement-Flow Feedback

Abstract:The present study is focused on the construction of a well-performing pilot controlled proportional flow valve with internal displacement-flow feedback. A novel control strategy for the valve is proposed in which the flow rate through the valve is directly controlled. The linear mathematical model for the valve is established and a fuzzy proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controller is designed for the flow control. In order to obtain the flow rate used as feedback rapidly and accurately in real-time, back propagation neural network (BPNN) is employed to predict the flow rate through the valve with the pressure drop through the main orifice and main valve opening, and the predicted value is used as the feedback. Both simulation and experimental results show that the predicted value obtained by BPNN is reliable and available for the feedback. The proposed control strategy is effective with which the flow rate through the valve remains almost constant when the pressure drop through the main orifice increases and the valve can be applied to the conditions where the independence of flow rate and load is required. For the valve with the proposed control strategy, the nonlinearity is less than 5.3%, the hysteresis is less than 4.2%, and the bandwidth is about 16 Hz. The static and dynamic characteristics are reasonable and acceptable.
Research on a New Type of Flow Control System of Hydraulic Elevators with Car Speed Feedback

Abstract:This paper introduces an innovation design of flow control system for hydraulic elevators with car speed feedback. By measuring pulse signal emitted by photoelectric encoder mounted on the elevator car, a single-chip computer controls the electrohydraulic proportional integrated flow valve, then drives the elevator car by a hydraulic cylinder. With this set of single-chip computer control system, good speed performance of the elevator can be achieved. Furthermore, it has strong robustness against the disturbance of oil temperature variation, mechanical friction and other disturbance factors. In order to obtain better ride comfort and soft start of the elevator, PID control algorithm is also proposed. Some mathematical models both for static and dynamic states have been established, consequently simulation results are found to be in close agreement with the experimental results.

Abstract:This study used the Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) program CFX5 to calculate the flow in the chamfer holes,exhaust hole and maze to achieve the static holding flow of the hydraulic stepped cylinder.The results indicated that the flow through the chamfer holes was the main part of the static holding flow,which determined the changing rule of the static holding flow with the change of the outer tube position.The flow through the exhaust hole and maze was relatively small,and the effect on the static holding flow was also small.The maximum and minimum static holding flow increased with the increase of temperature,which agreed well with the experimental results.

Abstract:This paper presents two methods for the static and dynamic performance improvement of a hydraulic feedback valve for load control. Firstly, by introducing force feedback between the pilot and main spools, the control stroke is widened, which means the static flow control performance is enhanced. Secondly, by introducing a compensation orifice to the pilot spool, a damping effect appears and the oscillations and overshoot in the opening process of the pilot spool are eliminated, which means the dynamic performance is improved. Mathematical analysis and simulations were conducted to achieve optimized parameters of the feedback spring and compensation orifice. An actual valve was built according to the above methods and optimized parameters. The good static and dynamic performance of the valve in the tests on a specially designed test rig indicates that the proposed methods can provide theoretical guidance for hydraulic feedback valve design.
