Abstract:A diode pumped intracavity frequency-doubled Nd: YVO4 laser emitting at 671 nm with a type-II noncritical phase-matched LBO crystal is reported. A maximum output power at 671 nm of 404 mW was obtained under an incident pump power of 5.16 W, with an optical-to-optical conversion efficiency up to 7.8%. The output power fluctuates less than 5% while the temperature change of the LBO crystal is maintained at ± 0.5 °C at the phase-matched temperature.

Abstract:Transition spectra in the 4F3/2-4I13/2 transition band of Nd:YVO4 crystal are too weak to form laser oscillation for the small stimulated emission cross section and strong parasitical oscillation, except for the 1342 nm wavelength. By adjusting the loss of the resonant cavity, 1386 nm continuous wave output from fiber coupled laser diode end-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser is achieved, which reaches 305 mW with pump power of 4.24 W, and the slope efficiency is 13.9% with the highest output power. Continuous wave outputs of 1342 nm and 1386 nm are also observed in the experiment. The stimulated emission cross section of Nd:YVO4 crystal at the wavelength of 1386 nm is calculated as about (3 ± 1) × 10-19 cm2, according to the pumping threshold energy and experimental data.

Abstract:In this Letter, we demonstrate a nonlinear-mirror (NLM) mode-locked diode-pumped solid-state Nd.YVO4 laser operating at 1342nm, in which the NLM comprises a periodically poled LiNbO3 crystal and a dichroic mirror. The self-starting threshold for cw mode locking is 1.5W, which is significantly lower than that of saturable absorber mode locking. An average power of 1.52W at 1342nm is obtained under diode pump power of 10W at 808nm, with the slope efficiency being up to 16.8%. The pulse width and the repetition rate of the mode-locked laser output are about 9.5 ps and 101 MHz, respectively. (C) 2011 Optical Society of America

Abstract:A maximum of 5.5 W of cw TEM00 mode output at 532 nm has been obtained by intracavity frequency doubling with a KTP crystal in an Nd: YVO4 laser doubly-pumped with 20 W diode pumping power. The optical-optical conversion efficiency is 27.5%. The influence of thermal lensing at high pumping power in the end-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser is discussed. The Nd:YVO4 laser has a good power stability of 1.6%.

Abstract:A laser diode-end-pumped Nd:YVO_4 intracavity frequency-tripled quasi-continuous 355 nm laser has been demonstrated.The efficient second and third-harmonic generation with the high peak power and stable operation is generated by two lithium triborate (LBO) crystals.The laser cavity is a simple plane-to-plane linear cavity with the cavity length of 108 mm.An average 355 nm laser with output power of 245 mW is obtained at a pump power of 6.76 W,a pulse repetition rate of 20 kHz and the highest optical-to-optical efficiency of 3.62 %.The corresponding pulse width and pulse peak power are 8.0 ns and 1.52 kW,respectively.The instability is less than 4.2% and the beam quality is satisfactory.This technique can decrease some optical elements reduce the size and enhance the handiness of the laser.These advantages will benefit the broad applications of the ultraviolet lasers.

Abstract:A maximum of 8.8 W of cw TEM00 mode output at 532 nm has been obtained by intracavity frequency doubling with KTP in a Nd:YVO4 laser doubly-pumped with 28 W diode pumping power. The optical-optical conversion efficiency is 31.5%. The influence of thermal lensing at high pumping power in the end-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser is discussed. The Nd:YVO4 laser has good power stability.

Abstract:With a type-I noncritical phase-matched LBO crystal as the intracavity frequency doubler in a LD pumped Nd:YVO4 laser, a 671 nm laser output of 240 mW was obtained with 5.44 W absorbed pump power, and the optical-optical conversion efficiency is 4.4%. When the laser output is 150 mW, the short-period instability of laser output is less than 2.7%. The laser output can be increased by improving the temperature control of LBO crystal.

Abstract:The continuous-wave and acousto-optical Q-switched pulse laser properties of diode-pumped Nd:YAG crystal operating at 946nm formed with a simple plane–plane cavity have been studied. Extra-cavity single-pass quasi-phase matching (QPM) frequency doubling with periodically poled LiTaO3 (PPLT) as the nonlinear crystal yielded a maximum output power of 66mW at 473nm with an overall optical to optical efficiency of 14.2% from 946 to 473nm. Our result proves that this scheme is of practical value for the construction of a blue all-solid-state laser.

Abstract:A LBO intracavity-doubled all-solid-state laser with CW TEM00 green output over 1 W from LD end-pumped Nd:YVO4 was demonstrated. In experiment, the applied LD(SDL-3450-P5) had the central wavelength of 805 nm at 25 °C. The maximum CW TEM00 output of 1.2 W at 532 nm was obtained by using I-type noncritical phase-matched (NCPM) temperature tuning of LBO at the pumping power of 5.5 W. The optical-optical conversion efficiency of the all-solid-state laser is 22%, and the electrical-optical conversion efficiency is 3%.

Abstract:Highly efficient frequency doubling of a continuous-wave Yb-doped fiber laser with a passively-locked enhancement cavity is achieved. The increase in efficiency is a result of improved transverse mode matching between the fiber and doubling cavities, which is enabled by an alignment method presented here. An optical conversion efficiency as high as 36.8% from a launched 976nm diode pump to a 532 nm green laser is obtained. The maximum 532 nm output is 24.5 W, which is limited by the onset of parasitic oscillations in the fiber laser.

Abstract:A diode-end-pumped Nd:YAG intracavity frequency-tripled quasi-continuous 355 nm laser has been demonstrated. The efficient third-harmonic generation with high peak power and stable operation is generated by a lithium triborate （LBO） crystal successfully. The laser cavity is a simple plane-to-plane linear cavity, which is short and compact. An average 355 nm laser output power of 163 mW is obtained at a pump power of 5.73 W and a pulse repetition rate of 9 kHz, with the highest optical-to-optical efficiency of 2.84%. The highest average 355 nm laser output power is up to 174 mW at a pump power of 6.7 W and a pulse repetition rate of 5 kHz. The instability of the output power of 174 mW is less than 5% and the beam quality M2 factor is 3.79. An average 355 nm laser output power of 112 mW is achieved at a pump power of 5.73 W and a pulse repetition rate of 2 kHz and the peak power reaches the highest value of 9.15 kW. Compared with the technology of external cavity frequency conversion, the technology of intracavity frequency conversion can cut down some of the optical elements in the laser cavity, reduce the size of the laser, and enhance the handiness of the laser. These advantages will benefit the wide applications of the ultraviolet lasers.

Abstract:Continuous output from a Nd:YVO₄ crystal around 1073 nm was studied. The output of 1064 nm was suppressed with a Type I phase-matching LiB₃O₅ (LBO) crystal rotated by 45°. With a pump power of 4.5 W, a 300 mW continuous output at 1073 nm was achieved for what we believe is the first time, and the optical-to-optical efficiency was 7%. With an adjustable LBO crystal, the wavelength is tunable from 1073.2 to 1073.5 nm. Even simultaneous output of 1066 and 1073 nm was realized by adjusting the LBO crystal. The experiments proved related theoretical analysis.

Abstract:An efficient and high-power diode-laser single-end-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser with cw emission at 1342nm is presented. With a crystal single-end-pumped by a fibre-coupled diode laser, an output power of 7.36 W is obtained from the laser cavity of concave-convex, corresponding to an optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 32.8%. The laser is operated in TEM00 mode with small rms noise amplitude of 0.3%. This represents, to the best of our knowledge, the highest power obtained from a diode-laser single-end-pumped Nd:YVO4 cw laser at 1342nm so far.

Abstract:We report efficient, diode-pumped, self-frequency doubling (SFD) in the newly developed laser crystal Nd3+:Na3La9O3(BO3)8 (Nd:NLBO). More than 730 mW of fundamental output power at 1072 nm was achieved with a slope efficiency of 16.2%. With incident pump power of 8 W, 29 mW of green cw laser emission at 536 nm was observed with proper phase matching. This initial performance and the good optical properties of the crystalline host are encouraging for the development of a high power diode-pumped SFD visible light laser source.

Abstract:The laser characteristics of Nd:YVO4pumped by a 10W diode bar and its intracavity KTP SHG have been investigated. The beam symmetry of the diode bar has been greatly improved by a multiple reflection beam shaper (MRBS). More than 3.4W output power at 1064nm with a 3MUL3��2mm3 Nd:YVO4 crystal and 1.4W at 532nm intracavity SHG with a 8��8��7mm3 KTP crystal have been obtained. The optical-optical efficiencies are 42% and 17%, respectively.

Abstract:A diode-pumped tunable Yb:YAG thin disk laser was studied.Tuning wavelength range from 1020.5 nm to 1034.7 nm was obtained by using a quartz-birefringent filter set in the laser cavity.And the generation of 515 nm green laser was demonstrated by intracavity frequency doubling of type-Ⅰphase- matched LBO in a fold cavity.A CW output power of 2.5 W at 515 nm was achieved.The fluctuation of green laser was less than 1% at the maximum output power in 1 hour.

Abstract:A compact, high-power, and high-stability Nd:YVO4 laser at 1342 ran has been developed. As high as 11 W cw output for 35 W of incident pump power with a slope efficiency of about 31.4% has been obtained. It has been shown that a reasonable and effective way to improve the output power is to choose a pumping scheme that can effectively extend the range of the stable resonator region by choosing the optimal dopant concentration and length of the laser rod. Abstract:An efficient intracavity frequency-doubled Raman laser was obtained by using an SrWO(4) Raman medium, an Nd:YAG ceramic gain medium, and a KTP frequency-doubling medium. Three laser cavities, including a two-mirror cavity, a three-mirror coupled cavity, and a folded cavity, were investigated. With the coupled cavity, a 2.93 W, 590 nm laser was obtained at an incident pump power of 16.2 W and a pulse repetition frequency of 20 kHz; the corresponding conversion efficiency was 18.1%. The highest conversion efficiency of 19.2% was obtained at an incident pump power of 14.1 W and a pulse repetition frequency of 15 kHz. The obtained maximum output power and conversion efficiency were much higher than the results previously obtained with intracavity frequency-doubled solid-state Raman lasers.

Abstract:We have demonstrated a diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser that produced 273 mW cw output at 671 nm by using KTP intracavity doubling. The optical-optical efficiency of the all-solid-state red laser was 5.1%. The maximum output power of the fundamental wave at 1342 nm from Nd:YVO4 was 2.3W with slope-efficiency of 43%.

Abstract:A LD pumped acoustooptic Q-switched Nd:YVO4-KTP intracavity frequency doubling green laser was developed recently. Stable series pulses of 532 nm green laser in TEM00 mode with threshold pumping power of 27mV was obtained. Under CW pumping power of 570mW, the peak power of green laser pulse reaches 1100W with pulse width of 4.6 ns. The output power is stable, its fluctuation is less than ��2% when the working temperature change is ��5��C. This device is expected to be widely used in many fields.
