Abstract:The traditional CIMS reference architecture is not practically effective in the system analysis, design and implementation. The paper introduces a new CIMS application architecture consisting of three layers: data layer, logic layer and controlling layer, and specifies the composition and relationship of each layer in detail. Moreover, on the basis of the reference model,an instructive system analysis and design method is described, which has been proved to be successful in Qingshan Paper Mill' CIMS.

Abstract:A networked structural laboratories system for seismic simulation of structures is presented. It consists of an independent network based communication platform (NCP) and various applications based on NCP. The NCP was developed based on client/server concept along with a proposed data model and communication protocols. It is capable of transferring control and feedback data among computers connected by Internet that is a hierarchical network with ubiquitous deployment of middleboxes, such as firewalls and network address translators. Communication speed tests were conducted in various network environments. Applications for hybrid dynamic test of bridge and building structures have been developed and remote hybrid tests of structures were carried out among the Hunan University, the Harbin Institute of Technology, and the Tsinghua University.

This paper designs and implements a network-based process control system, which possesses functions such as remote control, clock synchronization, and a friendly man-machine interface. The paper first presents a comprehensive analysis of the temporal characteristics of traditional Ethernet and the improvements for them, then summarizes the interesting features offered by a switched Ethernet for supporting time constrained communication. Abstract:For the nuclear power DCS platform, real-time communication network architecture and the selection lack of theoretical basis and performance comparison, as well as the lack of mature experience for reference in the design of DCS Platform made in China, this paper studies the hardware and software implementation of real-time network communication architecture based on different protocols. A network communication scheme suitable for the design of various network topologies of safety-level DCS is proposed, which realizes the real-time and deterministic data transmission of Safety DCS network. It has the advantages of better certainty of data communication, fault-tolerant ability and stability of response time, and meets the requirements of high reliability of data communication for DCS network system of nuclear power platform.

Abstract:To meet the requirement of real-time analysis and emergency control of power systems, a novel method is proposed to implement the forced real-time communication in real-time control and analysis system for power systems. In this method, the multi-Ethernet topology is adopted in communication net design, and the connectionless UDP protocol is used as communication protocol. The multimedia timer and non-blocking mode is used in software design. The feasibility of forced real-time communication is proved by the tests of real-time performance. A large amount of experiment data shows that the proposed method can satisfy the real-time and reliable demands of power systems.

Abstract:The application model in the Internet has shifted into information sharing,while the architecture is still based on the end-to-end communication.The conflict between them is becoming increasingly acute.To solve such a mis-match,ICN (Information-Centric Networking)is proposed.In this paper,a basic architecture framework for ICNs is first proposed,functional modules and properties are adopted to explore the design of ICN.Then,the relationships between ICN and other future network technologies are analyzed,the experiment platform and the deployment of ICN are discussed.Final-ly,crucial issues and future researches are concluded.

Abstract:Information-Centric Networking (ICN) has been proposed recently to improve the efficiency of content delivery in current IP networks. ICN employs data names, instead of host addresses, as routing and forwarding indicators. Content in the ICN carries only signature of the content provider but does not contain the identity of the content consumer by default. Such information is, however, essential for many of the web applications, such as email, online social networking, online game, e-commerce, and other session-based web services.In this paper, we propose a session-based access control (SAC) mechanism for ICN scenario to bridge the gap. Key distribution protocols are designed to protect the confidentiality of the content during information delivery. We also employ a dynamic naming scheme to enhance user privacy. According to security analysis, our access control mechanism can provide communication security and privacy protection for both sides of the session. Our design can be easily applied to session-based applications in ICN with negligible overhead.

Abstract:Network requirements are evolved from data communications between two hosts to accessing a large amount of information through networks. The current Internet uses address-centric network communication model,which is suitable for the communications between hosts but not efficient in the communications between hosts and networks. Given this fact, information-centric networking(ICN) becomes the hot spot to meet the new requirements.Firstly, this paper presents the basic idea of ICN, analyzes the features of ICN, and classifies different ICN approaches,including the following aspects: naming, resolving, routing and caching. Secondly, this paper summarizes the five key technologies in ICN which are naming, resolving, routing, distribution and caching, and then analyzes and evaluates the existing ICN schemes. Finally, several key issues in ICN are discussed and future directions are pointed out.

Abstract:The development of intelligent industrial control is closely related with the innovation and evolution of communication technology. With the development of new industrial control, such as Industry 4.0 and intelligent manufacturing, the open industrial control system faces more and more threats from the Internet. As a new type of communication network, the communication model of ICN in the information center network takes the information as the center, instead of the address - centered approach in the TCP/IP network. Therefore, the communication mode evolves from host-to-host to host-to-network, and the security mechanism is built up on information itself, while the forwarding mechanism evolves from storage and forwarding to cache forwarding. In view of this, a new smart industrial control communication service mechanism based on the ICN architecture is designed. Aiming at the defects and deficiencies in the design of TCP/IP, the fundamental solution to the design of the network architecture is proposed. Finally, security analysis and simulation experiments indicate the effectiveness of the proposed mechanism. The experiment result is of good theoretical value and application prospects in improving the safety of intelligent industrial control.

Abstract:Industrial wireless mesh networks technologies as WirelessHART, ISA100.11a, WIA-PA, e.g., have become a communication infrastructure for process control in harsh and noisy environment. These control systems are wireless mesh networked control systems (WMNCSs). Compared with wireless sensor networks, the Wireless network control systems have more stringent requirements on reliability and real-time communication. Although WirelessHART has introduced many technologies to ensure the stringent reliable and timing properties, it does not provide much guidance on how to meet the design goals for close loop controller. In this work, we provide algorithms for constructing real-time scheduling for close-loop controller over WirelssHART networks. The experiments on test bed show that our scheme can provide highly reliable and real time communication for close loop control.

Abstract:Based on the research of international standard and the network condition for China Unicom, the basic need for the integratedlocation-based service platform(ILBSP) is analyzed. Key technologies to realize ILBSP are presented, including the select policy for differentlocation technique and cache function for location process. ILBSP can provide location services to code division multiple access(CDMA) user andglobal system mobile(GSM) user. This paper proposes a scheme to design and implement the platform including software architecture, hardwarearchitecture and process topology. The scheduling method used by the main module is also presented. And the performance of platform is explained.

Abstract:As one of the key components of EMS applications, from the viewpoint of the network analysis applications the general data requirement of these applications is presented, the support of common information model (CIM) to above-mentioned data requirement is researched and three problems are further clarified, they are: what kind of information models for network analysis applications can be provided by CIM model base; how to utilize these models; what are the deficiencies of CIM models. As for these problems five categories of information models, i.e., measurement model, protection model, control model, topology model and equipment model, and the application of these models in network analysis are presented. In addition, the applications of CIM to network analysis in near future are prospected.

Abstract:Networked CNC (computer numerical control) system is the foundation for realizing automation, intelligent and globalization of manufacturing. The transparent model, real-time and deterministic communication of industrial Ethernet is urgently needed. The communication platform based on Manufacturing Message Specification (MMS), TCP/IP and Ethernet is the trend of the next industrial automation communication system. This paper put forward a reference model based on MMS+TCP/IP+Ethernet to achieve the real-time seamlessly data exchange for CNC in distributed environment. The networked CNC is constructed by main control board based on ARM microcontroller, motion controller (based DSP and CPLD), real-time OS of RTLinux and user graphic interface of MiniGUI. After analyzed the effect factors of real-time communication performance, the key technologies of the platform were discussed, such as communication tasks priority of Ethernet, TCP/IP protocol over Ethernet, real-time network communication models and event-driven scheduling. Finally, and the network experimental results are shown and discussed.
