Abstract:In this paper, we will carry out an analytic comparative study between the Adomian decomposition method and the differential transformation method. This is achieved by handling the (1+3)-dimensional Burgers equation. Two numerical simulations have also been carried out to validate and demonstrate efficiency of the two methods.

Abstract:We study generalized variants of the Burgers equation and the KdV equation on the circle. The main goal of the paper is to show that both extensions can be recast as geodesic equations on a suitable diffeomorphism group of the circle and the corresponding Bott-Virasoro group respectively. As a consequence we obtain that the initial value problem for the Burgers equation with an additional quadratic term is well-posed on a scale of Sobolev spaces on the circle.

Abstract:The Burgers equation can describe some phenomena such as turbulence, shock wave and traffic flow dynamics problems. Under consideration in this paper is a discrete Burgers equation, which can be viewed as the discrete counterpart of Burgers equation. Firstly, we correspond this discrete equation to the famous continuous Burgers equation under the continuous limit. Secondly, based on its 2 × 2 matrix linear spectral problem, we construct the discrete generalized (m,N−m)-fold Darboux transformation (DT) to derive various exact solutions covering kink soliton, rational solutions, semi-rational solutions as well as their mixed superposition solutions. Furthermore, we discuss kink multi-soliton resonant phenomena through the graphics analysis and use asymptotic analysis technique to investigate the limit states of various exact solutions. Finally, the dynamical evolutions of kink soliton solutions are studied through numerical simulations. The results obtained in this paper may be useful for exploring physical phenomena governed by Burgers equation.

Abstract:We will present exact solutions for three variations of stochastic Korteweg de Vries-Burgers (KdV-Burgers) equation featuring variable coefficients. In each variant, white noise exhibits spatial uniformity, and the three categories include additive, multiplicative, and advection noise. Across all cases, the coefficients are time-dependent functions. Our discovery indicates that solving certain deterministic counterparts of KdV-Burgers equations and composing the solution with a solution of stochastic differential equations leads to the exact solution of the stochastic Korteweg de Vries-Burgers (KdV-Burgers) equations.

Abstract:A (2+1)-dimensional fourth order Burgers–KdV equation with variable coefficients (vcBKdV) is studied here and interesting wave-type solutions with variable amplitudes and velocities are reported. The model has been not previously studied in the chosen form and it presents a twofold interest: as a model describing a rich variety of phenomena and as a higher-order equation solving difficulties generated by the presence of the variable coefficients. The novelty of our approach is related to the use of the functional expansion, a solving method based on an auxiliary equation that generalizes other approaches, such as, for example, the G′G proved here. We use a similarity reduction with a nonlinear wave variable that leads to a determining system that it is not usually algebraic, but an over-determined system of partial differential equations. It depends on 14 constant or functional parameters and can generate much richer classes of solutions. Three such classes of solutions, corresponding to the case when a specific form of the generalized reaction–diffusion equation is used as auxiliary equation, are considered. The influence on the dynamical behavior of two important factors, the choices of the auxiliary equation and the form of solution, are studied by providing graphical representations of specific solutions for various values of the parameters.

Abstract:Making use of a extended tanh method with symbolic computation, we find a new complex line soliton for the two-dimensional (2D) KdV–Burgers equation. Its real part is the sum of the shock wave solution of a 2D Burgers equation and the solitary wave solution of a 2D KdV (KP) equation, and its imaginary part is the product of the shock wave solution of a 2D Burgers equation and the solitary wave solution of a 2D MKdV (MKP) equation.

Abstract:The generalized Riccati equation vational expansion method is extended in this paper. Several exact solutions for the generalized Burgers-Fisher equation with variable coefficients are obtained by this method, and some of which are derived for the first time. It is concluded from the results that this approach is simple and efficient even in solving partial differential equations with variable coefficients.

Abstract:In this note, we consider some Burgers-like equations involving Laguerre derivatives and demonstrate that it is possible to construct specific exact solutions using separation of variables. We prove that a general scheme exists for constructing exact solutions for these Burgers-like equations, extending to more general cases, including nonlinear time-fractional equations. Exact solutions can also be obtained for KdV-like equations involving Laguerre derivatives. We finally consider a particular class of Burgers equations with variable coefficients whose solution can be obtained similarly.

Exact solution to a class of problems for the Burgers' equation on bounded intervals

Abstract:Burgers' equation with fixed Dirichlet boundary conditions is considered on generic bounded intervals. By using the Hopf-Cole transformation and the exact operational solution recently established for linear reaction-diffusion equations with constant coefficients, an exact solution in the time domain is implicitly derived by means of inverse Laplace transforms. Analytic inverses, whenever they exist, can be obtained in closed form using Mellin transforms. However, highly efficient algorithms are available, and numerical inverses in the time domain are always possible, regardless of the complexity of the Laplace domain expressions. Two illustration tests show that the results coincide well with those of classical exact solutions. Compared to the solutions obtained with series expressions or by numerical methods, closed-form expressions, even in the Laplace domain, represent an innovative alternative and new perspectives can be envisaged. The exact solution via the inverse Laplace transform is shown to be more computationally efficient and thus provides a reference point for numerical and semi-analytical methods.

Abstract:In this paper,we consider the Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers equation on a finite domain with initial value and nonhomogeneous boundary conditions. This particular problem arises in the theory of ferroelectricity. We first get the local well-posedness of the problem, and then under the help of the local result, we use nonlinear interpolation to have the global well-posedness of the problem.

Abstract:In this article, the new exact travelling wave solutions of the time-and space-fractional KdV-Burgers equation has been found. For this the fractional complex transformation have been implemented to convert nonlinear partial fractional differential equations to nonlinear ordinary differential equations, in the sense of the Jumarie's modified Riemann-Liouville derivative. Afterwards, the improved (G'/G)-expansion method can be implemented to celebrate the soliton solutions of KdV-Burger's equation of fractional order.

Abstract:Burgers’ equation frequently appears in the study of turbulence theory, as well as some other scientific fields. High and low Reynolds numbers play important roles in both modeling and numerical simulation. In this paper, we apply a numerical scheme to solve a two-dimensional time-fractional Burgers equation. The key feature of the proposed method is formed by combining the discontinuous Galerkin method to spatial variables and a finite difference scheme to temporal variables. The corresponding numerical analysis is also presented. Several numerical tests are carried out to demonstrate the theoretical analysis and we present a shock wave phenomenon of the new Burgers model.

Abstract:In this paper, by introducing a fractional transformation, we obtain a bilinear formulation for the (N + 1)-dimensional Burgers equation. Such a formulation constitutes a bilinear extension to the (N + 1)-dimensional Cole-Hopf transformation between the (N + 1)-dimensional Burgers system and generalized heat equation. As applications of the bilinear extension to the Cole-Hopf transformation, four types of physically interesting exact solutions are constructed, which contain vortex solutions, multiple fusions, rational solutions and triangular rational solutions. The behaviors of these solutions are analyzed and simulated. Interestingly, the type of fusion solutions has recently found applications in organic membrane, macromolecule material, even-clump DNA, nuclear physics and plasmas physics et al.

Abstract:The Burgers--KdV hierarchy was introduced towards understanding intersection numbers on the moduli space of Riemann surfaces with boundaries. The goal of this paper is to derive the Dubrovin--Zhang type loop equation for the topological tau-function of the Burgers--KdV hierarchy. As as application, we provide some relations for open intersection numbers.

Abstract:This paper discusses the numerical solution of Burgers’ equation on unbounded domains. Two artificial boundaries are introduced and boundary conditions are obtained on the artificial boundaries, which are in nonlinear forms. Then the original problem is reduced to an equivalent problem on a bounded domain. Finite difference method is applied to the reduced problem, and some numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the new approach.

Abstract:Burgers-type equations are used to describe certain phenomena in gas dynamics, traffic flow, plasma astrophysics and ocean dynamics. In this paper, a (2+documentclass[12pt]{minimal}usepackage{amsmath}usepackage{wasysym}usepackage{amsfonts}usepackage{amssymb}usepackage{amsbsy}usepackage{mathrsfs}usepackage{upgreek}setlength{oddsidemargin}{-69pt}egin{document}$$+$$end{document}1)-dimensional generalized Burgers system with the variable coefficients in a fluid is investigated. We obtain the Painlevé-integrable constraints of the system with respect to the variable coefficients. Based on the truncated Painlevé expansions, an auto-Bäcklund transformation is constructed, along with some soliton solutions. Via a truncated Painlevé expansions, certain multiple kink solutions are derived. Via a complex-conjugate transformation, some breather solutions, half-periodic kink solutions and hybrid solutions composed of the breathers and kink waves are seen.

Abstract:An initial-boundary value problem for the 2D Zakharov-Kuznetsov-Burgers equation posed on a channel-type strip was considered. The existence and uniqueness results for regular and weak solutions in weighted spaces as well as exponential decay of small solutions without restrictions on the width of a strip were proven both for regular solutions in an elevated norm and for weak solutions in the $L^2$-norm.

Abstract:This paper deals with two generalized KdV equations which possess three high order nonlinear terms. A technique based on the reduction of order for solving differential equations and variable transformations is employed to find the bell type, kink type, solitary patterns, peakons and periodic solutions for the equations under several circumstances. It is shown that the exponents of the nonlinear terms, the wave speed of the solutions and the coefficients of the derivatives of the equations play a major role in the qualitative change of the physical structures of the solutions.
