Abstract:To solve the flow velocity field in rectangular subsonic jet, the method of conformal mapping in the complex analysis has been used to transform the circular plane to a rectangular plane. So the theory about the axisymmetric nozzle jet flow field is extended to the rectangular nozzle jet. By this method, we can avoid the numerical simulation by introducing auxiliary equations, discretization and setting the boundary conditions to solve the three-dimensional N-S equation. The quantitative impact on the jet structure is obtained: the bigger the aspect ratio AR is, the longer the length of the jet core is, and the slower the decay is, when rectangular nozzle aspect ratio AR takes 2, 4, 8, respectively. When nozzle area of 10cm2, 20cm2, increasing the aspect ratio could not only shorten the core length but also speed up the attenuation. The velocity contours in the wide and narrow symmetry plane through the orifice center of symmetry with a nozzle size 1 5mm2 and vents Mach number Ma=0.3 are studied. The results show that in the wide and narrow plane of jet there exist core area and decay region. It is found for the first time that the jet velocity distribution width shows itself as a "saddle" mainly concentrates in the jet core segment. Compared with the existing experimental results, it is found that the minimum core length error reaches to 30%, the axial velocity distribution agrees with the experimental results very well, the error is less than 5%, the correctness of this theory is verified. The results provide theoretical guidance for further study on the rectangular subsonic jet and parameter optimization design of rectangular vents.
