Abstract:We mainly discuss the cardinal invariants and generalized metric properties on paratopological groups or rectifiable spaces, and show that: (1) If $A$ and $B$ are $\omega$-narrow subsets of a paratopological group $G$, then $AB$ is $\omega$-narrow in $G$, which give an affirmative answer for \cite[Open problem 5.1.9]{A2008}; (2) Every bisequential or weakly first-countable rectifiable space is metrizable; (3) The properties of Fr$\acute{e}$chet-Urysohn and strongly Fr$\acute{e}$chet-Urysohn are coincide in rectifiable spaces; (4) Every rectifiable space $G$ contains a (closed) copy of $S_{\omega}$ if and only if $G$ has a (closed) copy of $S_{2}$; (5) If a rectifiable space $G$ has a $\sigma$-point-discrete closed $k$-network, then $G$ contains no closed copy of $S_{\omega_{1}}$; (6) If a rectifiable space $G$ is pointwise canonically weakly pseudocompact, then $G$ is a Moscow space. Also, we consider the remainders of paratopological groups or rectifiable spaces, and give a partial answer to questions posed by C. Liu in \cite{Liu2009} and C. Liu, S. Lin in \cite{Liu20091}, respectively.

Abstract:We outline a proof of a remarkable conjecture of Labastida-Mari{\~n}o-Ooguri-Vafa about certain new algebraic structures of quantum link invariants and the integrality of infinite family of new topological invariants. Our method is based on the cut-and-join analysis and a special rational ring characterizing the structure of the Chern-Simons partition function.

Abstract:In this paper, we firstly discuss the question: Is $l_{2}^{\infty}$ homeomorphic to a rectifiable space or a paratopological group? And then, we mainly discuss locally compact rectifiable spaces, and show that a locally compact and separable rectifiable space is $\sigma$-compact, which gives an affirmative answer to A.V. Arhangel'skiǐ and M.M. Choban's question [On remainders of rectifiable spaces, Topology Appl., 157(2010), 789-799]. Next, we show that a rectifiable space $X$ is strongly Fr$\acute{e}$chet-Urysohn if and only if $X$ is an $\alpha_{4}$-sequential space. Moreover, we discuss the metrizabilities of rectifiable spaces, which gives a partial answer for a question posed in \cite{LFC2009}. Finally, we consider the remainders of rectifiable spaces, which improve some results in \cite{A2005, A2007, A2009, Liu2009}.

Abstract:A topological space G is said to be a rectifiable space provided that there are a surjective homeomorphism φ:G×G→G×G and an element e∈G such that π1∘φ=π1 and for every x∈G we have φ(x,x)=(x,e), where π1:G×G→G is the projection to the first coordinate. In this paper, we mainly discuss the rectifiable spaces which are suborderable, and show that if a rectifiable space is suborderable then it is metrizable or a totally disconnected P-space, which improves a theorem of A.V. Arhangelʼskiı̌ (2009) in [8]. As an application, we discuss the remainders of the Hausdorff compactifications of GO-spaces which are rectifiable, and we mainly concerned with the following statement, and under what condition Φ it is true.StatementSuppose that G is a non-locally compact GO-space which is rectifiable, and that Y=bG∖G has (locally) a property-Φ. Then G and bG are separable and metrizable.Moreover, we also consider some related matters about the remainders of the Hausdorff compactifications of rectifiable spaces.

Abstract:In this paper,we show that if a rectifiable space G is a locally Lindel(o)f ∑-space,then G is strongly paracompact,which improves a result given by Lin-Zhang-Zhang [Topology Appl.,2015,193:182-191].We prove that if a rectifiable space G has a compactification bG such that bG \ G is a locally σ-space,then G is either locally compact or separable and metrizable,which generalizes a result obtained by Arhangel'skii-Choban [Topology Appl.,2010,157(4):789-799].We also show that if a non-locally compact k-gentle paratopological group G has a compactification bG such that bG \ G has locally a Gδ-diagonal,then either G is a σcompact cosmic space,or bG is separable and metrizable,which generalizes two results given by Arhangel'skii [Topology Appl.,2007,154(6):1084-1088] and Liu [Topology Appl.,2009,156(5):849-854].

Abstract:We generalize a classical theorem of Besicovitch, showing that, for any positive integers $k<n$, if $E\subset \mathbb R^n$ is a Souslin set which is not $\mathcal{H}^k$-$\sigma$-finite, then $E$ contains a purely unrectifiable closed set $F$ with $0< \mathcal{H}^k (F) < \infty$. Therefore, if $E\subset \mathbb R^n$ is a Souslin set with the property that every closed subset with finite $\mathcal{H}^k$ measure is $k$-rectifiable, then $E$ is $k$-rectifiable. We also point out that this theorem holds in a suitable class of metric spaces. Our interest is motivated by recent studies of the structure of the singular sets of several objects in geometric analysis and we explain the usefulness of our lemma with some examples.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, we present finite topological type theorems for open manifolds with non-negative Ricci curvature, under almost maximal local rewinding volume. Unlike previous related research, our theorems remove the constraints of sectional curvature or conjugate radius, which were crucial additional assumptions on metric regularity in prior results. Notably, our settings do not necessarily satisfy a triangle comparison of Toponogov type. In fact, the method we adopt also extends to many previous related studies.

Abstract:In the setting of Carnot groups, we are concerned with the rectifiability problem for subsets that have finite sub-Riemannian perimeter. We introduce a new notion of rectifiability that is, possibly, weaker than the one introduced by Franchi, Serapioni, and Serra Cassano. Namely, we consider subsets $\Gamma$ that, similarly to intrinsic Lipschitz graphs, have a cone property: there exists an open dilation-invariant subset $C$ whose translations by elements in $\Gamma$ don't intersect $\Gamma$. However, a priori the cone $C$ may not have any horizontal directions in its interior. In every Carnot group, we prove that the reduced boundary of every finite-perimeter subset can be covered by countably many subsets that have such a cone property. The cones are related to the semigroups generated by the horizontal half-spaces determined by the normal directions. We further study the case when one can find horizontal directions in the interior of the cones, in which case we infer that finite-perimeter subsets are countably rectifiable with respect to intrinsic Lipschitz graphs. A sufficient condition for this to hold is the existence of a horizontal one-parameter subgroup that is not an abnormal curve. As an application, we verify that this property holds in every filiform group, of either first or second kind.

Assume [math] is an Oppermann–Thomas cluster tilting object in [math] and [math] is an auto-equivalence of [math]. Let [math]. We investigate some classes of [math]-stable [math]-rigid objects in [math], prove that the stability of [math]-rigid objects can be transferred to some pairs for [math], and we obtain a new higher version of the Adachi–Iyama–Reiten bijection. As applications, we generalize the Jacobsen–J[math]rgensen bijection to the general case (not necessarily [math]-Calabi–Yau), and we recover a work due to Yang, Zhang and Zhu.

Abstract:We classify homomorphisms from mapping class groups by using arguments involving finite subgroups. First, we give a new proof of a result of Aramayona–Souto that all homomorphisms between certain mapping class groups of closed surfaces are trivial. Second, we show that only finitely many mapping class groups of closed surfaces have nontrivial homomorphisms to for any n , where is the n -sphere. We also effectivize this result for small values of n ; for instance, we prove that every homomorphism from to or is trivial if , extending a result of Franks–Handel.

Abstract:Abstract A natural higher-order notion of C 1 , α {C}^{1,\alpha } -rectifiability, 0 < α ≤ 1 0\lt \alpha \le 1 , is introduced for subsets of the Heisenberg groups H n {{\mathbb{H}}}^{n} in terms of covering a set almost everywhere with a countable union of ( C H 1 , α , H ) \left({{\bf{C}}}_{H}^{1,\alpha },{\mathbb{H}}) -regular surfaces. Using this, we prove a geometric characterization of C 1 , α {C}^{1,\alpha } -rectifiable sets of low codimension in Heisenberg groups H n {{\mathbb{H}}}^{n} in terms of an almost everywhere existence of suitable approximate tangent paraboloids.

Abstract:This paper mainly considers Toeplitz algebras, subnormal tuples and rigidity concerning reproducing C1⁄2z1;y; zd -modules. By making use of Arveson’s boundary representation theory, we find there is more rigidity in several variables than there is in single variable. We specialize our attention to reproducing C1⁄2z1;y; zd -modules with U-invariant kernels by examining the spectrum and the essential spectrum of the d-tuple fMz1 ;y;Mzdg; and deducing an exact sequence of C -algebras associated with Toeplitz algebra. Abstract:We prove that Ahlfors-regular RCD spaces are uniformly rectifiable. The same is shown for Ahlfors regular boundaries of non-collapsed RCD spaces. As an application we deduce a type of quantitative differentiation for Lipschitz functions on these spaces.

Abstract:A classical result of von Staudt states that if eight planes osculate a twisted cubic curve and we divide them into two groups of four, then the eight vertices of the corresponding tetrahedra lie on a twisted cubic curve. In the current paper, we give an alternative proof of this result using modern tools, and at the same time we prove the analogous result for rational normal curves in any projective space. This higher dimensional generalization was claimed without proof in a paper of H.S. White in 1921.

Abstract:The object of this paper is to study GL(2,R) orbit closures in hyperelliptic components of strata of abelian differentials. The main result is that all higher rank affine invariant submanifolds in hyperelliptic components are branched covering constructions, i.e. every translation surface in the affine invariant submanifold covers a translation surface in a lower genus hyperelliptic component of a stratum of abelian differentials. This result implies finiteness of algebraically primitive Teichmuller curves in all hyperelliptic components for genus greater than two. A classification of all GL(2, R) orbit closures in hyperelliptic components of strata (up to computing connected components and up to finitely many nonarithmetic rank one orbit closures) is provided. Our main theorem resolves a pair of conjectures of Mirzakhani in the case of hyperelliptic components of moduli space.

Abstract:We study the left-orderability of the fundamental groups of cyclic branched covers of links which admit co-oriented taut foliations. In particular we do this for cyclic branched covers of fibred knots in integer homology 3 3 -spheres and cyclic branched covers of closed braids. The latter allows us to complete the proof of the L-space conjecture for closed, connected, orientable, irreducible 3 3 -manifolds containing a genus one fibred knot. We also prove that the universal abelian cover of a manifold obtained by generic Dehn surgery on a hyperbolic fibred knot in an integer homology 3 3 -sphere admits a co-oriented taut foliation and has left-orderable fundamental group, even if the surgered manifold does not, and that the same holds for many branched covers of satellite knots with braided patterns. A key fact used in our proofs is that the Euler class of a universal circle representation associated to a co-oriented taut foliation coincides with the Euler class of the foliation’s tangent bundle. Though known to experts, no proof of this important result has appeared in the literature. We provide such a proof in the paper.
