Abstract:Let be a prime and let denote the Dirichlet character modulo . For any prime with , define the set . In this paper, we study a kind of mean value of Dirichlet character sums , and use the properties of the Dirichlet -functions and generalized Kloosterman sums to obtain an interesting estimate.

Abstract:In this paper, we defined a new generalized Cochrane sum with Dirichlet characters, and gave the upper bound of the generalized Cochrane sum with Dirichlet characters. Moreover, we studied the asymptotic estimation problem of the mean value of the generalized Cochrane sum with Dirichlet characters and obtained a sharp asymptotic formula for it. By using this asymptotic formula, we also gave the mean value of the generalized Dedekind sum.

Abstract:Let q ⩾ 3 be an integer, let χ denote a Dirichlet character modulo q . For any real number a ⩾ 0 we define the generalized Dirichlet L-functions L(s,χ ,a) = ∑_n = 1^∞χ (n)/(n + a)^s , where s = σ + it with σ > 1 and t both real. They can be extended to all s by analytic continuation. In this paper we study the mean value properties of the generalized Dirichlet L -functions especially for s = 1 and s = 1/2 + i t , and obtain two sharp asymptotic formulas by using the analytic method and the theory of van der Corput.

We study the distribution of elements in the set L(p) in character over the short interval. Abstract:For the general modulo q ⩾ 3 and a general multiplicative character χ modulo q , the upper bound estimate of | S ( m , n , 1, χ , q )| is a very complex and difficult problem. In most cases, the Weil type bound for | S ( m , n , 1, χ , q )| is valid, but there are some counterexamples. Although the value distribution of | S ( m , n , 1, χ , q )| is very complicated, it also exhibits many good distribution properties in some number theory problems. Abstract:In this paper, we study the mean value distributions of Dirichlet L-functions at positive integers. We give some explicit formulas for the mean values of products of two and three Dirichlet L-functions at positive integers weighted by Dirichlet characters that involve the Bernoulli functions and Jordan's totient functions. The results presented here are the generalizations of various known formulas.

It can be extended to all s using analytic continuation. For any integer m, the famous Gauss sum G(m, chi) is defined as G(m, chi) = Sigma(q)(a-1) chi(a)e (am/q), where e(y) = e(2 pi iy). This paper uses analytic methods to study the mean value properties of the generalized Dirichlet L-functions with the weight of the Gauss sums, and a sharp asymptotic formula is obtained.

Abstract:For any real $k\geq 2$ and large prime $q$, we prove a lower bound on the $2k$-th moment of the Dirichlet character sum \begin{equation*} \frac{1}{\phi(q)} \sum_{\substack{\chi \text{ mod }q\\ \chi\neq \chi_0}} \Big| \sum_{n\leq x} \chi(n)\Big|^{2k}, \end{equation*} where $1\leq x\leq q$, and $\chi$ is summed over the set of non-trivial Dirichlet characters mod $q$. Our bound is known to be optimal up to a constant factor under the Generalised Riemann Hypothesis. We also get a sharp lower bound on moments of theta functions using the same method.
