Abstract:In this paper, the nonlinear matrix equation is investigated. Based on the fixed-point theory, the boundary and the existence of the solution with the case are discussed. An algorithm that avoids matrix inversion with the case is proposed.

Abstract:In this paper, necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the Hermitian positive definite solution for a nonlinear matrix equation are derived. Then, a sufficient condition for the existence of the unique Hermitian positive definite solution is presented. Further, we propose to use Newton's method to solve this nonlinear matrix equation with some constraints. In addition, we prove the convergence of Newton's method. Finally, we present some numerical examples to illustrate the effectiveness of the derived results.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a nonlinear matrix equation. We propose necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of Hermitian positive definite solutions. Some necessary conditions and sufficient conditions for the existence of Hermitian positive definite solutions of this equation is also derived. Based on the Banach fixed point theorem, the existence and the uniqueness of the Hermitian positive definite solution are studied. An iterative method for obtaining the Hermitian positive definite solution of this equation is proposed. Finally, some numerical examples are presented to illustrate the performance and efficiency of the proposed algorithm.

Combining the method of constructing Green functions with operators defined piecewise, the existence result of positive solutions to a singular second order three-point boundary value problem is established. Abstract:In this article, we first introduce the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of the Hermitian positive definite solution group of a system of nonlinear matrix equations Then we propose an inversion-free iteration method to find the Hermitian positive definite solution group of the system of nonlinear matrix equations. Finally, the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed method in compare to some existing algorithms are demonstrated by various numerical examples.

Abstract:Nonlinear matrix equations arise in many practical contexts related to control theory, dynamical programming and finite element methods for solving some partial differential equations. In most of these applications, it is needed to compute a symmetric and positive definite solution. Here, we propose new iterative algorithms for solving three different types of nonlinear matrix equations. We have recently proposed a new algorithm for solving positive definite total least squares problems. Making use of an iterative process for inverse of a matrix, we convert the nonlinear matrix equation to an iterative linear one, and, in every iteration, we apply our algorithm for solving a positive definite total least squares problem to solve the linear subproblem and update the newly defined variables and the matrix inverse terms using appropriate formulas. Our proposed algorithms have a number of useful features. One is that the computed unknown matrix remains symmetric and positive definite in all iterations. As the second useful feature, numerical test results show that in most cases our proposed approach turns to compute solutions with smaller errors within lower computing times. Finally, we provide some test results showing that our proposed algorithm converges to a symmetric and positive definite solution in Matlab software environment on a PC, while other methods fail to do so.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the positive definite solutions to the matrix equation $X+A^{\mathrm{H}}\bar{X}^{-1}A=I$ where $X$ is the unknown and $A$ is a given complex matrix. By introducing and studying a matrix operator on complex matrices, it is shown that the existence of positive definite solutions of this class of nonlinear matrix equations is equivalent to the existence of positive definite solutions of the nonlinear matrix equation $W+B^{\mathrm{T}}W^{-1}B=I$ which has been extensively studied in the literature, where $B$ is a real matrix and is uniquely determined by $A.$ It is also shown that if the considered nonlinear matrix equation has a positive definite solution, then it has the maximal and minimal solutions. Bounds of the positive definite solutions are also established in terms of matrix $A$. Finally some sufficient conditions and necessary conditions for the existence of positive definite solutions of the equations are also proposed.

Abstract:In this paper, we delve into a discrete nonlinear singular semipositone problem, characterized by a nonlinear boundary condition. The nonlinearity, given by f(u)−auα with α>0, exhibits a singularity at u=0 and tends towards −∞ as u approaches 0+. By constructing some suitable auxiliary problems, the difficulty that arises from the singularity and semipositone of nonlinearity and the lack of a maximum principle is overcome. Subsequently, employing the Krasnosel'skii fixed-point theorem, we determine the parameter range that ensures the existence of at least one positive solution and the emergence of at least two positive solutions. Furthermore, based on our existence results, one can obtain the symmetry of the solutions after adding some symmetric conditions on the given functions by using a standard argument.

Abstract:We shall give a notion to obtain some adequate conditions for the existence and uniqueness of a positive definite common solution to a pair of non-linear matrix equations. In pursuit of this, our interest lies in presenting some invigorating results containing altering distance functions and control functions in metric spaces. Using these results, we employ some firm conditions for the existence and uniqueness of a positive definite common solution to the pair of non-linear matrix equations. We also figure out a systematic applicable area of our findings. Eventually, we give precise examples to assert one of the prominent results with a numerical approximation of convergence of iterated sequence using a diagram.

Abstract:In this article we present several necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of Hermitian positive definite solutions of nonlinear matrix equations of the form $X^s + A^*X^{-t}A + B^*X^{-p}B = Q$, where $ s, t, p \geq 1$, $ A, B$ are nonsingular matrices and $Q$ is a Hermitian positive definite matrix. We derive some iterations to compute the solutions followed by some examples. In this context we also discuss about the maximal and the minimal Hermitian positive definite solution of this particular nonlinear matrix equation.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the iterative methods for the solution of different types of nonlinear matrix equations. More specifically, we consider iterative methods for the minimal nonnegative solution of a set of Riccati equations, a nonnegative solution of a quadratic matrix equation, and the maximal positive definite solution of the equation X+A∗X−1A=Q. We study the recent iterative methods for computing the solution to the above specific type of equations and propose more effective modifications of these iterative methods. In addition, we make comments and comparisons of the existing methods and show the effectiveness of our methods by illustration examples.

Abstract:For a nonlinear differential matrix equation, we study a multipoint boundary value problem by a constructive method of regularization over the linear part of the equation using the corresponding fundamental matrices. Based on the initial data of the problem, sufficient conditions for its unique solvability are obtained. Iterative algorithms containing relatively simple computational procedures are proposed for constructing a solution. Effective estimates are given that characterize the rate of convergence of the iteration sequence to the solution, as well as estimates of the solution localization domain.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate positive solutions of boundary value problems for a general second-order nonlinear difference equation, which includes a Jacobi operator and a parameter λ. Based on the critical point theory, we obtain the existence of three solutions for the boundary value problem. Then, we establish a strong maximum principle for this problem and obtain some determined open intervals of the parameter λ for the existence of at least two positive solutions. In the end, we give two examples to illustrate our main results.

Abstract:In this manuscript, the concept of rational-type multivalued $ F- $contraction mappings is investigated. In addition, some nice fixed point results are obtained using this concept in the setting of $ MM- $spaces and ordered $ MM- $spaces. Our findings extend, unify, and generalize a large body of work along the same lines. Moreover, to support and strengthen our results, non-trivial and extensive examples are presented. Ultimately, the theoretical results are involved in obtaining a positive, definite solution to nonlinear matrix equations as an application.

Abstract:In this paper, we focus on the existence of positive solutions for a singular Hessian equation with a negative augmented term. By finding more appropriate upper and lower solutions, we not only overcome the difficulty due to the negative augmented term but also remove a critical condition required in the existing work and establish new results for the existence of positive solutions of the equations under study. Our results improve and complement many existing works.
