Abstract:Track structures are apt to generate degradation under repeated loading of train traffic. Avariation of support stiffness is one of the main degradations, such as unsupported sleepers and the transition position from embankment to a bridge, which occurred frequently. The service performance of track will decline including the comfort index of passengers and the safety of train in these areas. In order to understand the control standard of track stiffness variation, various models have been used to analyze the amplification of dynamic responses of track by researchers. The coupling effect of train and track structure was considered unnegligible in some researches. In this paper, an updated numerical model is developed based on track dynamic theory, in which the CA mortar and concrete base are both taken into consideration. The results were compared with the finite element model ( FEM) results based on ABAQUS software, in which the train loads are assumed as a series of constant loads. From the comparison, the influence of train-track interaction was presented. When the track has no irregularity or degradation, the wheel-rail contact loads are nearly constant, and the dynamic responses of track structure are the same in these two models. But if there are track stiffness variations,the results in train-track interaction model are larger than that in FEM,which means that the train-track interaction has an intensive effect. Besides the differences of track responses, the FEM cannot reveal the variation of contact forces and train responses, which are also essential to summarize the control standard of track degradation. At last, based on the train-track interaction model, various conditions of track stiffness variation are analyzed and discussed.
