Abstract:Mine refuge chamber provides a safe and reliable space for refuge personnel when an accident occurs. The airtight explosion-proof barrier system plays an important role for resisting high temperature, fire, and gas. A refuge chamber was established in Changcun Coal Mine in Shanxi province. In this paper we propose that the airtight explosion-proof barrier system comprises from an airtight buffer system, an airtight explosion-proof door and wall system, as well as a spraying barrier system and an airtight explosion-proof exhaust system. The layered structure and materials of the airtight buffer system were determined by the leakage gas and pressure of surrounding rock. The structure, materials and thicknesses of the airtight explosion-proof door and wall system were determined by the load, characteristics of materials and protection function. The maximum bearing capacity of the door was determined according to the compressive airtight experiment. The components and the minimum air supply volume of the spraying barrier system were determined by analyzing the relationship between the number of persons and the air volume per unit time. On the basis of blocking experiment, the blocking efficiency of the spraying barrier system was established. The maximum antiknock force and the air leakage rate of the exhaust system were determined by the airtight and explosion-proof experiments. It is demonstrated that the airtight explosion-proof barrier system can provide a stable positive pressure to prevent the toxic and harmful gases from the refuge chamber by the airtight experiment of the whole refuge chamber. This research provides a scientific basis for the formulation of the relevant standard and a reference for the research on mine refuge chamber in China.
