Abstract:A new species of the genus Neoperla , N. donglaii sp. nov., is described from Yunnan Province of southwestern China. The new species is assigned to the N. lushana -complex of the N. ( Formosita ) subgenus due to the presence of paired, ventral spiny lobes of the aedeagus. The new species was compared with related species in the subgenus. Neoperla hamata Jewett, 1975 and N. idella Stark & Sivec, 2008 are newly recorded for China and N. quadrata Wu & Claassen, 1934 specifically from Yunnan Province, China. Neoperla quadrata had not been collected for 90 years.

Abstract:A new species of the genus Nilothauma Kieffer, N. pandum sp. n., is described, and its morphological descriptions and illustrations are also given. A key to the males of Nilothauma is given. The adult male of N. pandum sp. n. can be distinguished from known species of the genus by the following combination of characters: anal point very broadly lanceolate with microtrichia in median ridge and apical margin, rounded at apex; superior volsella pad-like, expanded distally; median volsella curved, rounded at apex, with 2 long basal setae and 1 long median seta.

Abstract:Jiangsu Province is located on the southeast coast of China and lacks high-altitude mountains, with only a few hilly areas mainly distributed in its southern region. In recent years, We investigated the diversity of Plecoptera species in the major mountainous and forested areas of Jiangsu, recording a total of 20 species across 12 genera and five families.In this paper, we examined the materials of Kamimuria from Jiangsu and described a new species, K. liyangensis sp. nov. In addition, detailed English descriptions and colour pictures of K. microda are provided for the first time.

Abstract:The family Nemouridae, belonging to Plecoptera, comprises 21 genera and over 700 species found globally, with the greatest diversity observed in temperate regions. Nemoura Latreille, 1796 and Amphinemura Ris, 1902 are two largest genera of the family with the highest diversity in China.Two new species of Nemoura Latreille, 1796 of the family Nemouridae, Nemoura exterclava Zhu, Rehman & Du sp. nov. and Nemoura cerciserrata Zhu, Du & Rehman sp. nov., are described and illustrated from the Nanling Mountains Region in Guangdong Province, southern China. The morphological characteristics of the new species are compared with related taxa. Additionally, the status of Indonemoura voluta Li & Yang, 2008, originally from Maoershan National Natural Reserve in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was addressed and moved to the genus Amphinemura Ris, 1902 on the basis of newly-caught topotypes.

Abstract:A new species of the genus Suwallia Ricker, 1943, S. rostrata sp. nov., from Xizang of southwestern China is described, illustrated and compared with similar species. Alloperla kurentzovi Zhiltzova & Zapekina-Dulkeit, 1977, A. kurilensis Zhiltzova, 1978, A. teleckojensis Šámal, 1939 are reported for the first time from China. The diagnostic features of these species are illustrated with color images.

Abstract:Two species of Nemouridae are described and illustrated from the Nanling Mountains of southern China, including a new species, Nemoura biplatta sp. nov. from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and a new regional record species, Amphinemura cordiformis Li & Yang, 2006 from Hunan Province. The morphological characteristics of the new species are compared to related taxa and the new images with supplementary description of A. cordiformis are also provided.

Abstract:The species of Ptilomera Amyot & Serville, 1843 from China are reviewed. Two new species, Ptilomera acutidentata sp. n. and Ptilomera valida sp. n., are described from Yunnan, China. Diagnoses and new distribution records are provided for four previously recorded species, i.e., Ptilomera burmana D. Polhemus, 2001, Ptilomera hemmingseni Andersen, 1967, Ptilomera hylactor Breddin, 1903, and Ptilomera tigrina Uhler, 1860. Photographs and line drawings of the habitus, diagnostic characteristics of both sexes, habitat and in-situ photographs are presented. A distribution map of Ptilomera in China is also provided.

Abstract:Two new species, Macropelopia ( Macropelopia ) excavata Xu & Fu, sp. nov. and Macropelopia ( Macropelopia ) quadrimacula Xu & Fu, sp. nov. , are described as male adults. A key to identify the males of Macropelopia from China is provided. Furthermore, in order to ascertain the genetic distance between these species and their morphological characteristics, mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene sequences were uploaded to the National Center for Biotechnology Information. These COI sequences were then utilized to infer the relationships between the species, employing the neighbor-joining method.

Herein, two new species from Yunnan, P. cordata sp. nov. and P. yunnanica sp. nov. , are described from China. An updated key to Ptychoptera is presented for all Chinese species.

Abstract:Polypedilum (Cerobregma) paucisetum sp. n. and P. (Tripodura) nudiprostatum sp. n., with peculiar superior volsellae are described as male imagines from Oriental China. P. (C.) paucisetum has an Uresipedilum-like superior volsella. The superior volsella of P. (T.) nudiprostatum is slender and non-clavate with 11–13 apical setae. A phylogenetic analysis places P. (C.) paucisetum as the sister species of the remaining members of the subgenus. P. (T.) nudiprostatum apparently belongs to the pullum group of Tripodura.

Abstract:Two new species of nemourid stonefly genus Nemoura, N. liuqifeii sp. nov. and N. shennongjia sp. nov., are described from Shennongjia National Park, Hubei Province of south-central China. The relationships between the new species and similar species in the genus are discussed. Three females of an undetermined Nemoura are also described from the park, however, they were not successfully associated with the new species or previously barcoded species.

Abstract:The genus Striglina is the most species-rich genus in the subfamily Striglininae, which includes about 80 species and subspecies and it has always been a popular research taxon within Thyrididae.Two new species of the genus Striglina Guenée, 1877, S. whalleyi sp. nov. and S. pararubricans sp. nov. from China are described and illustrated. Striglina whalleyi sp. nov. is similar to S. irresecta obscura Whalley, 1976, but its wing ground colour is lighter and the sacculus process is shorter. Striglina pararubricans sp. nov. is similar to S. rubricans, but the fore-wing is narrower, the uncus processes and sacculus process are longer. Holotypes are deposited in the Department of Entomology, College of Plant Protection, South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou.

Abstract:Two rare genera are newly reported for China: the Australasian Picacharops Gauld, 1984 and the Oriental Sliochia Gauld, 1976. Abstract:A new genus Acoptodera gen. n. is described to place Coptodera piligera Chaudoir, 1883 previously attributed to genus Trichocoptodera Louwerens, 1958, as well as new subgenus Pericalocephala subgen. n. to place remarkable new species from Vietnam: Acoptodera (Pericalocephala) paradoxa sp. n. By the presence of hairs on head, pronotum and elytra, new genus is similar with Trichocoptodera Louwerens, 1958, but can be easely distinguished by flattened pronotum with wide lateral margins and by rounded elytra with serrate edges and fringe of setae on the sides. The status and characters of genera thought to be near relatives of Coptodera genus-group, are briefly discussed. Images of habitus and genitalia are provided.

Abstract:Two new species of free-living marine nematodes, Metachromadora parobscura sp. nov. and Molgolaimus longicaudatus sp. nov., from mangrove wetlands of Beihai, Guangxi province in China, are described. Metachromadora parobscura sp. nov. is characterized by eight longitudinal rows of somatic setae arranged from the posterior part of the body, loop-shaped amphidial foveae with an open top and double contours, pharynx with bipartite cuticularized internal cavity, spicules with well-developed capitulum, gubernaculum canoe-shaped, without apophysis, 6–8 precloacal tubular supplements, and a short, conical tail with two ventral protuberances. It could be easily distinguished from the known species by spicule length and numbers of precloacal supplements. Molgolaimus longicaudatus sp. nov. is characterized by short cephalic setae, relatively small amphidial fovea, slender spicules ventrally bent with pronounced hooked capitulum and tapered distal end, two poriform precloacal supplements, and a relatively long conico-cylindrical tail. It differs from other species by the shape of spicules and long tail. Nearly full-length SSU sequences (1542–1592 bp) of the two species were provided, and phylogenetic trees based on maximum likelihood analyses supported the taxonomic position of the two new species. The combined use of traditional morphology-based taxonomy and molecular approaches has been proven to be a good choice for identification of free-living nematodes.
