Abstract:In this article, we establish some blow-up results for a modified two-component Camassa-Holm system in Sobolev spaces. We also obtain the existence of the weak solutions of this system in H s × H s -1 , s > 5/2.

Abstract:In this paper, we study an initial boundary value problem for a generalized Camassa-Holm equation. We establish local well-posedness of this closed-loop system by using Kato theorem for abstract quasilinear evolution equation of hyperbolic type. Then, by using multiplier technique, we obtain a conservation law which enable us to present a blow-up result.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the wave breaking phenomena for a coupled periodic Camassa-Holm system. We establish a new blowup criterion for strong solutions by the method of characteristic and convolution estimates, and also give the existence interval of the blowup point.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the existence of a weak solution and blow-up of strong solutions to a two-component Fornberg–Whitham system. Due to the absence of some useful conservation laws, we establish the existence of a weak solution to the system in lower order Sobolev spaces ( ) via a modified pseudo-parabolic regularization method. And then, a blow-up scenario for strong solutions to this system is shown. By the analysis of Riccati-type inequalities recently, we present some sufficient conditions on the initial data that lead to the blow-up for corresponding strong solutions to the system.

Abstract:In this paper, we focus on the well‐posedness, blow‐up phenomena, and continuity of the data‐to‐solution map of the Cauchy problem for a two‐component higher order Camassa–Holm (CH) system. The local well‐posedness is established in Besov spaces Bp,11p×Bp,12+1p with 1≤pmax{2+1p,52} . Then, the nonuniform continuous and Hölder continuous dependence on initial data for this system are also presented in Besov spaces Bp,rs−2×Bp,rs with 1≤p,rmax{2+1p,52} . Finally, the precise blow‐up criteria for the strong solutions of the two‐component higher order CH system is determined in the lowest Sobolev space Hs−2×Hs with s>52 , which improves the blow‐up criteria result established before in He and Yin [Discrete Contin. Dyn. Syst. 37 (2016), no. 3, 1509–1537] and Zhou [Math. Nachr. 291 (2018), no. 10, 1595–1619].

Abstract:In this paper, we revisit the problem of finite-time blowup for a multi-dimensional nonlocal transport equation studied in [Dong, Adv. Math. 264 (2014) 747-761]. Inspired by a one-dimensional analogous model considered in [Li-Rodrigo, Adv. Math. 374 (2020) 1-26], we establish a new weighted nonlinear inequality implying the blow-up by a completely real variable based technique.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a generalized two component Camassa-Holm system. Based on local well-posedness results and lifespan estimates, we establish sharpness of continuity on the data-to-solution map by showing that it is not uniformly continuous from product Sobolev spaces $H^s \times H^{s}$ to $C([0,T]; H^s \times H^{s})$. The proof of nonuniform dependence is based upon approximate solutions.

Abstract:We extend the results for 2-D Boussinesq equations from ℝ2 to a bounded domain Ω. First, as for the existence of weak solutions, we transform Boussinesq equations to a nonlinear evolution equation U t + A(t, U) = 0. In stead of using the methods of fundamental solutions in the case of entire ℝ2, we study the qualities of F(u, υ) = (u · ▽)υ to get some useful estimates for A(t, U), which helps us to conclude the local-in-time existence and uniqueness of solutions. Second, as for blow-up criterions, we use energy methods, Sobolev inequalities and Gronwall inequality to control $\left\| \theta \right\|_{H^s (\Omega )} $ and $\left\| u \right\|_{H^s (\Omega )} $ by $\left\| {\nabla \theta } \right\|_{L^\infty (\Omega )} $ and $\left\| {\nabla u} \right\|_{L^\infty (\Omega )} $. Furthermore, $\left\| {\nabla \theta } \right\|_{L^\infty (\Omega )} $ can control $\left\| {\nabla u} \right\|_{L^\infty (\Omega )} $ by using vorticity transportation equations. At last, $\left\| {\nabla \theta } \right\|_{M_\phi (\Omega )} $ can control $\left\| {\nabla \theta } \right\|_{L^\infty (\Omega )} $. Thus, we can find a blow-up criterion in the form of $\lim _{t \to T^ * } \int_0^t {\left\| {\nabla \theta ( \cdot ,\tau )} \right\|_{M_\phi (\Omega )} d\tau = \infty } $.

Abstract:In the first part of this work we study the local well-posedness of dispersive equations in the weighted spaces $H^s(\mathbb{R})\cap L^2(|x|^{2b}dx)$. We then apply our results for several dispersive models such as the Hirota-Satsuma system, the OST equation, the Kawahara equation and a fifth-order model. Using these local results, the second part of this work is devoted to obtain results related to dispersive blow up of the Kawahara equation and the Hirota-Satsuma system.

Abstract: For the first order 1D $n\times n$ quasilinear strictly hyperbolic system $\partial_tu+F(u)\partial_xu=0$ with $u(x, 0)=\varepsilon u_0(x)$, where $\varepsilon>0$ is small, $u_0(x)\not\equiv 0$ and $u_0(x)\in C_0^2(\mathbb R)$, when at least one eigenvalue of $F(u)$ is genuinely nonlinear, it is well-known that on the finite blowup time $T_{\varepsilon}$, the derivatives $\partial_{t,x}u$ blow up while the solution $u$ keeps to be small. For the 1D scalar equation or $2\times 2$ strictly hyperbolic system (corresponding to $n=1, 2$), if the smooth solution $u$ blows up in finite time, then the blowup mechanism can be well understood (i.e., only the blowup of $\partial_{t,x}u$ happens). In the present paper, for the $n\times n$ ($n\geq 3$) strictly hyperbolic system with a class of large initial data, we are concerned with the blowup mechanism of smooth solution $u$ on the finite blowup time and the detailed singularity behaviours of $\partial_{t,x}u$ near the blowup point. Our results are based on the efficient decomposition of $u$ along the different characteristic directions, the suitable introduction of the modulated coordinates and the global weighted energy estimates.

Abstract:For a -component Camassa–Holm equation, as well as a -component generalization of the modified Camassa–Holm equation, nonlocal infinitesimal symmetries quadratically dependent on eigenfunctions of linear spectral problems are constructed from functional gradients of spectral parameters. With appropriate pseudopotentials, these nonlocal infinitesimal symmetries are prolonged to enlarged systems, and then explicitly integrated to generate symmetry transformations in finite form for the enlarged systems. As implementations of these finite symmetry transformations, some kinds of nontrivial solutions and Bäcklund transformations are derived for both equations.

Abstract:In this paper, we mainly revisit a weakly dissipative periodic two‐component b ‐family system. Considering the dissipative effect, the local well‐posedness is first obtained for the system by applying the Kato's semigroup theory. We then utilize the characteristics line method to get one blow‐up criterion with the dispersive parameter k1∈(1,3] . Finally, the other blow‐up criterion is derived with regard as considering the odevity of initial data by using energy method. When the parameters λ,ki(i=1,2,3) belong to suitable range, our obtained results supplement the corresponding blow‐up criteria, which was derived by Liu and Yin (Nonlinear Analysis: Real World Applications 12 (2011) 3608–3620).
