Abstract:As the country with the largest number of older adults with dementia, China is faced with unprecedented challenges in dementia care. In consideration of the complexity, professionality, and high dependency of caring for the elderly with dementia, the burden outweighs the capacity of informal caregivers which leads to the corresponding increment of demand in caring in institutions. While formal caregivers caring for older adults with dementia are exposed to mounting caregiving burdens, the characteristics of resilience composed of “risk factors” and “protective factors” influence the origin of the burden and their coping strategies. The characteristics of caregivers and care recipients and their interactive relationship form the internal burden, while the trust between caregivers and relatives of the elderly as well as the management within institutions are two major elements resulting in the outer burden. Personal characteristics, spiritual beliefs, behavioral strategies, and received family support of formal caregivers together shape their burden adaptation and coping strategies. In the construction of caring for the older adults with dementia in institutions, it is an urgent need to reflect on the “feminization of care”, reconstruct the significance of trust in resilience strategies, and build up a comprehensive social support system for formal caregivers at the same time. Relieving the burden of formal caregivers and responding actively is an important guarantee for stabilizing the team of caregivers and improving the quality of care for the elderly with dementia.
Study on burden of family caregivers of patients with dementia in community and influencing factors

Abstract:Objective:To investigate caregiver burden of caregivers of dementia patients and explore its influen-cing factors.Methods:Multi plot cross sectional questionnaire survey was used to collect data.General appli-cation data table,caregivers burden questionnaire (CBI),Chinese version of neural psychiatric questionnaire and social support Edition (NPI Q)and society support scale (SSRS)were used for evaluation on community pri-mary family caregivers of 152 cases of dementia patients,then to analyze the influence factors of the family care-givers burden.Results:152 cases of primary family caregivers spent an average of 127.60 h per week in dementia patients.More than half (55.3%)of the caregivers were under pressure to take care of patients with dementia. Subjective care burden score was 38.89±12.94.Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that the influen-cing factors of caregivers’subjective burden included dementia severity behavioral and psychological symptoms, patients with dementia whether or not to live with the patient and family to share number of caregiving tasks, seeking emotional support and caregivers’health status(P <0.05).Conclusion:The burden of family caregivers of patients with dementia in China was significantly higher than that in other countries or regions.The severity of psychiatric symptoms in patients with dementia,whether or not to live with the patient,to share the number of tasks in the home,to seek emotional support behavior and the health status of caregivers,were the main sub-jective burdens of caregivers.

Abstract:Objective: To describe the characteristics of oldest-old Chinese with disability and their adult-child caregivers, and the extent to which these characteristics were associated with caregiver burden. Methods: The study was based on 168 pairs of disabled oldest-old adults and their adult-child caregivers, derived from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey. Descriptive analyses of care recipients' and caregivers' characteristics were conducted respectively, in reference to caregiver burden. Statistically significant characteristics identified in these bivariate analyses were then jointly evaluated in multiple linear regression models with caregiver burden as the outcome. Results: Care recipients positive emotion status [(beta =-0.227 (-0.412,-0.042)], multiple chronic disease [(beta = 0.513 (0.081, 0.945)], and caregivers spent more caregiving time [(beta = 0.225 (0.061, 0.389)] were main factors associated with caregiver burden. Conclusion: Adult-children caregivers perceived heavier burden if care recipients had low positive emotions, had multiple chronic diseases, and caregivers spent more time caregiving. The relationship between psychiatric symptoms and burden of caregivers in senile dementia patients

Abstract:Objective To investigate the occurrence and severity of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia(BPSD)in elderly dementia patients,and to explore the relationship of the degree of dementia and the severity of BPSD with the burden of caregivers in pension agency.Methods Using a convenient sampling method,the Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) scale,neuropsychiatric scale (NPI)and Zarit caregiver burden scale(ZBI)were used to evaluate 145 patients with Alzheimer's disease and caregiver burden in Hangzhou.Results The incidence rate of BPSD was 51.8 ％ (72 cases),with a higher incidence rate of delusions of 22.3％ (31 cases),a higher severity of sleep disorder/nocturnal behavior [NPI symptom score (5.95 ± 4.60) points].The symptom making a greatest burden on the caregivers was delusion [ZBI score (32.81 ± 17.66) points].There were positively correlations of the burden of caregivers with the degree of dementia and the severity of BPSD (r=0.434,0.710,all P＜0.01)in patients with senile dementia.Conclusions The incidence rate of BPSD in dementia patients is higher,and the occurrence of BPSD is associated with the severity of mini mental state examination(MMSE)and dementia,which increases the burden of caregivers.More attention should be paid to BPSD in patients with senile dementia.And the social support system serving patients with senile dementia and their caregivers should be further improved.
Analysis of burden of caregivers for Alzheimer disease patients and its influencing factors

Abstract:Objective To explore the burden of caregivers for Alzheimer disease patients and its influencing factors.Methods Totally 150 caregivers for Alzheimer disease patients were collected from March 2015 to June 2016 in Department of Geriatric of Nanjing Dram Tower Hospital the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University Medical School. Self-designed general information questionnaires of patients and its caregivers for Alzheimer disease was used in this study. Caregiver Burden Questionnaire was used to investigate the burden of caregivers for Alzheimer disease patients. The influencing factors of the burden of caregivers for Alzheimer disease patients were analyzed.Results The average score of the burden of caregivers for Alzheimer disease patients was (52.54±3.29)points,in which 31 cases for mild load(20.67%), 47 cases for moderate load(31.33%), and 72 cases for severe load(48%). The multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that the level of dementia, complications, the gender of caregivers and the health status of caregivers were independent predictors of the care load,which can predict 71.6% variation (R2=0.716).Conclusions Factors affecting the burden of caregivers for Alzheimer disease patients were dementia degree, complications, gender and health condition of caregivers. Social support system should be established towarding these factors to alleviate the load and improve the care of Alzheimer's disease patients.

Abstract:Objective To investigate the related factors of caregiver burden in patients with alzheimer's disease (AD). Methods The demography data of patients with AD and their caregivers were collected. The caregivers burden was assessed by Zarit Burden Interview. The cognitive impairment ,daily activities ,neuropsychiatric symptoms and dementia severity of pa-tients with AD were evaluated with the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) ,Neuropsychiatric Inventory (NPI) ,activities of daily living (ADL) and Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR). Results The mean Zarit score of caregiver burden was 21.73 ± 8.02. The correlation coefficients between the Zarit score and MMSE ,ADL ,NPI score and disease duration were -0.428 , 0.495 ,0.59 and 0.283 ,respectively. The Zarit score (24.28 ± 8.44) of women was higher than that (19.91 ± 7.2) of men. Conclusion The caregiver burden of patients with AD is related with cognitive impairment level ,disease duration ,daily activi-ties level ,behavior and psychological symptoms and gender.
Care burden on family caregivers of patients with dementia and affecting factors in China: A systematic review

Abstract:Background: Dementia is a chronic and progressive illness characterized by severe impairment and high dependencies. Under the influence of Chinese traditional culture, 80% of patients with dementia are watched over at home by family caregivers as primary caregivers. However, long-term care brings formidable burdens to them and reduces the quality of their life. It is necessary to find out the influencing factors of caregivers' burden. Methods: A scoping search was conducted on eight electronic databases from 1 January 2010 to 14 June 2022: PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China VIP Database, China Biomedical Literature Database, and Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform. Research articles included in this review discussed the factors affecting Chinese dementia family caregivers' care burden or stress, and the level of care burden was evaluated by a standardized care burden scale. Results: A total of 1,888 related articles were found and 23 cross-sectional studies were eventually included. After quality assessment, 12 were of good quality and 11 were of fair quality. A total of 32 factors were identified that were associated with caregiver burden, and the results were grouped into three categories: patient, caregiver, and society. The severity of disease, poor self-care ability, neuropsychiatric symptoms, care time, number of helpers, poor health status, economic stress, poor psychological status, social support, and age were reported in many previous studies. Conclusion: In this review, the factors that affect the caregiver burden for people with dementia were clarified. By identifying these factors, hospitals, decision-makers, and communities can carry out special projects for these populations, provide appropriate assistance, or design corresponding intervention measures to reduce the caregiver burden and improve the quality of care for patients with dementia. Abstract:Objective To assess the level of caregiver burden and factors associated with it among family caregivers of persons with dementia (PWD) living in communities of Shanghai, China. Design Cross-sectional study. Setting Communities in Hongkou District of Shanghai, China. Participants A random sample of 109 older adults with dementia and their primary family caregivers. Main outcome measure Caregiver burden measured by the Caregiver Burden Inventory (CBI), and the Caregivers' depressive symptom measured by the simplified Chinese version of Self-rating Depression Scale was the outcome variable of the study. The independent variables, including the cognitive function (measured by Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), sleep quality assessed by the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, abilities of daily life assessed by the Activities of Daily Living Scale, and behavioural and psychological symptoms assessed by the Neuropsychiatric Inventory of PWDs, the community service utilisation (measured by the Community Service Utilisation Measurement), perceived social support (assessed by three questions), positive aspects of caregiving (PAC) (assessed by the PAC) of dementia caregivers, were analysed. Multivariate linear regression was employed to determine the factors related to caregiver burden. Results The average level of CBI was 65.92±16.74. The score of MoCA, PAC and perceived social support of caregivers were negatively associated with caregiver burden (β=–0.84, p<0.001, β=–3.61, p=0.03 and β=–1.22, p=0.001, respectively). Community service utilisation was positively associated (β=3.46, p<0.001) with caregiver burden. Perceived social support by the caregiver moderated the relationship between caregiver burden and caregivers' depression symptoms. Conclusion Dementia caregivers experienced a high level of caregiver burden. The cognitive function of PWD, PAC, social support and community service utilisation were factors associated with caregiver burden. Strengthening social support, providing more high-quality home care services, promoting PAC are imperative to reduce caregiver burden.

Abstract:OBJECTIVES: To assess the direct and indirect effects of patient or caregiver factors on caregiver burden of caring for community-residing people with mild Alzheimer's disease (AD).METHODS: We conducted a cross-sectional study of patients diagnosed with AD from two hospitals and three communities in Taiyuan, China and their caregivers. For this survey, 200 patients with mild AD and their caregivers were selected. Caregivers were asked to provide sociodemographic information including age, gender, relationship with the patient, level of education, and number of contact hours per week with the patient. Caregiver burden was assessed using the Caregivers Burden Inventory. The caregivers also completed other measures including the Positive Aspects of Caregiving, the Family Adaptation, Partnership, Growth, Affection, and Resolve, and the Social Support Rating Scale. The patients with AD completed the Montreal Cognitive Assessment; their caregivers completed the Activities of Daily Living Scale and a questionnaire about the patients' Behavioral and Psychological symptoms of Dementia. The main outcome in this study was caregiver burden. The care receivers' level of cognitive function, physical function, and behavioral problems were treated as original stress; the primary appraisal variable was measured as the number of hours of caregiving in the previous week reported by the caregiver. Mediator variables included perceived social support, family function, and caregiving experience. Path analysis was used to build the interrelationship among caregiver burden and patient or caregiver factors.RESULTS: A lower level of cognitive function in patients (r = -0.28, p<0.001) and longer hours of caregiving (r = 0.17, p = 0.019) were related to increased caregiver burden. Greater social support (r = -0.23, p<0.001), family function (r = -0.17, p = 0.015) and caregiving experience (r = -0.16, p = 0.012) were related to decreased caregiver burden. Social support (r = 0.16, p = 0.040) and family function (r = 0.25, p = 0.002) were directly related to patients' level of cognitive functioning, but were mediator factors between level of cognitive function in patients and caregiver burden. Similarly, social support was a mediator factor between patients' daily function (r = -0.23, p = 0.004) and caregiver burden; while caregiving experience mediated the link between behavioral and psychological symptoms in patients (r = 0.36, p<0.001) and caregiver burden.CONCLUSION: Level of cognitive function and hours of caregiving were directly related to caregiver's burden. Social support, family function and caregiving experience could mediate the relationship between patient factors and caregiver burden. Focusing on patient factors and promoting caregiver care will be helpful in lowering the perceived burden of caregiving.

Abstract:Obj ective:To know about the status quo of care burden of care-givers of senile patients with chronic diseases,to analyze the influencing factors of caregivers’burden.Methods:General information questionnaire of senile chronic diseases patients and their caregivers,and caregivers’bur-den scale were taken as the research tool.And convenient sampling method was used to survey caregivers of a total of 2 1 2 elderly patients with chronic disease.Results:Burden score of primary caregivers of elderly patients with chronic disease was (34.55 ± 17.78).Influencing factors of caregivers’ burden included relationship between caregiver and the patients,the age and course of disease of patients,and family economic status.Conclusion:Caregivers of elderly patients with chronic disease have different degrees of care burden,so society should think highly of the burden of caregivers of elderly patients with chronic disease,and take some positive and effective coping measures.

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effect of nursing intervention on caregivers' burden for dementia patients in community in order to provide guidance and evidence for the community-based management of dementia patients and family caregivers.Methods A total of 53 participants were randomly assigned to the control group and the intervention group.The caregivers in the intervention group received one-year problem-based guidance of knowledge and skills,stress-coping management and effective utilization of social supports.Caregivers' burden was measured by Caregiver Burden Inventory at 0,3,6,9 and 12 months.Results The caregivers' burden in the intervention group were reduced at the 9th month(P0.05)and remained stability at the 12th month.Compared to the caregivers in the control group,the caregivers' burden in the intervention group was less after 9 months(P0.05).There was no significant diffference in caregivers' burden of the control group before and after the intervention(P0.05).Conclusion Nursing intervention can reduce the burden of caregivers of dementia patients in community.

Abstract:AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: To evaluate caregiver burden and factors that influence this burden among caregivers and patients with Alzheimer's disease in China.BACKGROUND: Long-term care can reduce the quality of life for caregivers and result in both mental and physical exhaustion. However, little is known about caregiver burden and associated factors in China.DESIGN: The study had a quantitative cross-sectional design.METHODS: A total of 309 caregivers and their patients were included in the study. The patients' cognitive, psychological and functional status and their caregivers' burden, sleep quality and mental state were evaluated. Descriptive analyses, single-factor regression and stepwise factor regression were used to determine the effects of various factors on caregiver burden.RESULTS: Older females and spouses still play an important role in providing family care for those with dementia. Most of the caregivers were the sole full-time caregiver and had little time for themselves. Sleepiness was a common physical problem for caregivers, and some of them had moderate to severe depression and anxiety. A lower functional status of the patient was associated with higher caregiver burden. Poorer physical status compared with before caregiving began, lower life satisfaction, and higher degrees of depression and anxiety were associated with higher caregiver burden.CONCLUSION: Depression, anxiety and sleep problems are the main challenges that are faced by family caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's disease. Caregivers' functional status, lower life satisfaction, depression and anxiety influenced caregiver burden. Caregiver burden was related to the severity of the patient's dementia and the personal factors of the caregivers.RELEVANCE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE: To provide information about caregivers' current status while caring for patients with Alzheimer's disease and to understand caregiver burden and its related factors. Professionals who work with Alzheimer's disease should pay more attention to caregiver burden, especially those with mental and physical problems.

Abstract:<p>Using the Pearlin stress process model, the present study aimed to test if there was an association between caregiving intensity and caregiver burden, to analyze what type of association existed, and to test if different indicators of social support moderated such association among caregivers of people with dementia. Data from the baseline assessment of the Resources for Enhancing Alzheimer's Caregiver Health (REACH II) (<em>N</em> = 637) were used. Caregiver burden (12-item Zarit caregiver burden scale), caregiving intensity (caregiving hours), and social support (Lubben social network, received support, satisfaction with support, and negative interactions) were the main measurements. Separate multivariate regression models were conducted with Stata 16. The results showed that the relationship between caregiving hours and caregiver burden was a nonlinear inversed U shape after controlling all of the socio-demographic variables. Further analyses showed that when caregiving hours reached 14 hours per day, the levels of burden were the highest. In addition, received support, satisfaction with support, and social network significantly buffered the relationship between caregiving hours and caregiver burden when they were examined separately. However, only social network played a significant buffering role when examining the four social support indicators simultaneously. These findings suggest the need for programs and practices that emphasize the importance of identifying, gaining, and strengthening positive aspect of social support, especially in how to broaden a caregiver's social network while caring for a family member with dementia.</p>

Factors Associated with Caregiver Burden in Patients with Alzheimer's Disease

Abstract:OBJECTIVE: Caregivers for patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) suffer from psychological and financial burdens. However, the results of the relationship between burden and cognitive function, performance of activities of daily living, and depressive symptoms have remained inconsistent. Therefore, the aim of this study was to examine which factors are more significant predictors of heightened burden, cognitive impairment or functional decline, besides neuropsychiatric symptoms.METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted in a sample comprised of 1,164 pairs of patients with AD and caregivers from the Clinical Research of Dementia of South Korea study cohorts. The cognitive function of each sub-domain, functional impairments, depressive symptoms, and caregiver burden were assessed using the dementia version of Seoul Neuropsychological Screening Battery (SNSB-D), Barthel Index for Daily Living Activities (ADL), Seoul-Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (S-IADL), the Clinical Dementia Rating Sum of Box (CDR-SB), the Global Deterioration Scale (GDS), the Korean version of the Neuropsychiatric Inventory (K-NPI), and the 15-item Geriatric Depression Scale.RESULTS: We found that higher severity (higher CDR-SB and GDS scores) and more functional impairment (lower ADL and higher S-IADL scores) were significantly associated with higher caregiver burden. In addition, depressive symptoms of patients (higher Geriatric Depression Scale scores) were associated with higher caregiver burden.CONCLUSION: Therefore, interventions to help maintain activities of daily living in patients with AD may alleviate caregiver burden and improve caregiver well-being.

Abstract:Objective To assess the impact on caretaker who looked after patients with Parkinson's disease(PD) and to identify the main factors related to their burden.Methods 115 consecutive pairs of PD patients and their caretakers were included.Caregiver Burden Inventory (CBI) was used to assess the burden of PD on the caretakers.Patients were evaluated by neurologists using the United Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS),the Hoehn and Yahr Scale(H-Y Scale),the Activity of Daily Liring Scale(ADL),the Parkinson's Disease Quesnonnaire(PDQ-39),the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD),the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale(HAMA),the Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA)and the Mini-mental State Examination(MMSE).Multiple linear stepwise regression models were fired to ascertain the factors linked to the CBI.Results Based on multiple linear stepwise regression analysis,ADL(β=-0.813,t=-6.265,P=0.000)and PDQ-39(β=0.285,t=4.256,P=0.000)of patients and the age ofcaretakers(β=0.327,t=3.107,P=0.002)proved to be the main predictors of CBI.Conclusion Many factors might comprehensively affct the burden of PD on caretakers of the patients.Attention needs to be given to the early identification of factors that generating stress on 1iveretakers in order to improve their quality of life.
Study on the burden of primary family caregiver for stroke survivors and it's influencing factors

Abstract:Objective To investigate the burden level and the influencing factors of primary family caregivers for stroke survivors.Methods A sampling survey was conducted in 180 stroke survivors and their primary family caregivers living in Shanghai communities by questionnaires.Results Burden score of family caregivers for stroke survivors was 48.83±8.05.There were statistically significant difference in burden score between caregivers with different education level,economy,time of care,time of staying with patients,tasks of care,willingness of care,self-efficacy,health-related quality of life(HRQOL),with or without chronic disease,and stroke survivors with different functional independence level(P<0.05).Multiple stepwise regression analysis demonstrated that HRQOL of caregivers and functional independence level of stroke survivors enter regression equation(P<0.001).Conclusion The primary family caregivers of stroke survivors were under considerable burden.Intervention on reducing caregiver's burden should focus on improving functional independence level of stroke survivors,providing more social support to caregivers and enhancing caregiver's self-efficacy.The intervention should be started earlier and carried through the whole process.

Abstract:Objectives: To explore burden and its related factors among primary caregivers of patients with cancer. Sample & setting: This study was conducted in an oncology ward at a medical center in southern Taiwan. A total of 137 dyads of patients with cancer and their primary caregivers were recruited. Methods & variables: This cross-sectional correlational study used a structured questionnaire to assess the burden of primary caregivers. Data on patients' basic characteristics and disease profiles were extracted from medical records from January to June 2019. Linear regression analysis was used to identify factors associated with the burden of primary caregivers. Results: The majority of primary caregivers were female (70%) and aged younger than 65 years (85%). Overall, the mean primary caregiver burden score was 38.83 (SD = 12.86), with spiritual burden ranking highest among the four domains assessed. Factors related to overall primary caregiver burden included psychiatric symptoms, daily care hours, patient age, and the lack of rotational support. Implications for nursing: Hospice and oncology nurses can actively identify psychiatric symptoms in primary caregivers, targeting high-risk groups to provide timely resources or psychiatric referrals, aiming to alleviate future caregiver burden.
Objective and Subjective Dementia Caregiving Burden: the Moderating Role of Immanent Justice Reasoning and Social Support

Abstract:Caregiving burden significantly effects the physical and mental health of family dementia caregivers. While the association between objective caregiving burden (OCB) and subjective caregiving burden (SCB) of family dementia caregivers is well documented, little is known as with how the association is moderated by the configuration of intrapersonal resource (e.g., immanent justice reasoning) and interpersonal resource (e.g., social support). The present study collected cross-sectional data on 157 major family caregivers of non-institutionalized persons with dementia in an urbanizing region of Western China’s Sichuan Province. They responded to questions on daily time spent on caregiving, the short version of Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI), a sub-scale of a caregiver meaning scale, Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS), and demographic questions. Controlling for the demographic variables of the caregivers, this study found that the objective and subjective dementia caregiving burden were significantly associated (p < 0.001), and immanent justice reasoning was positively correlated with subjective burden (p < 0.01). Moreover, the association between OCB and SCB was significantly positive when social support and immanent justice reasoning were both high (p < 0.001), but neutral when social support was high and immanent justice reasoning was low. The association between OCB and SCB was significantly positive when social support and immanent justice reasoning were both low (p < 0.05), but neutral when social support was low and immanent justice reasoning was high. This research suggests the importance of developing intervention programs that consider the configuration of the external supporting resources and internal meaning-making of caregiving of the family dementia caregivers.

Abstract:Objective To get a more comprehensive view of caregiving experiences, and describe the caregiver burden and the positive aspects of caregiving of family caregivers of senile dementia patients in community and to explore the relationship between the caregiver burden and the positive aspects of caregiving. Methods Totally 80 family community-dwelling caregivers of senile dementia patients in community were investigated by Caregiver Burden Inventory (CBI) and Positive Aspects of Caregiving (PAC) questionnaires. Results The score of CBI was 54.73 ± 13.15 and the score of PAC was 28.53 ± 5.37. The score of PAC was negatively correlated with the caregiver burden (r=-0.243, P<0.05). Conclusions The caregiver burden of the family community-dwelling caregivers of dementia patients is high and the positive aspects of caregiving is at middle level. Professional help and support should be provided to the family caregivers of dementia patients by the community health service centers on the premise that the caregiving experience is fully understood. Our aim is to reduce their burden, strengthen the caregiving skills and improve the positive aspects of caregiving simultaneously.

Abstract:Aim The present study examined the association between depression of persons with dementia and family caregiver burden, as well as whether the association depended on the level of caregivers' ability to find positives in caregiving. Methods Based on the medical records of a local mental health hospital and the statistics of an epidemiological survey, this cross-sectional study included 157 major family caregivers of non-institutionalized dementia patients in the rural sector of Western China's Sichuan Province. They responded to the Cornell Scale for Depression in Dementia, a short version of the Zarit Burden Interview, a subscale of a caregiver meaning scale and demographic questions. Results Controlling for the demographic variables of the caregivers, the present study found that dementia patients' depression level was significantly associated with caregiver burden (P < 0.001), and the caregivers' levels of finding positives in caregiving significantly moderated the association (P < 0.05). Furthermore, the positive correlation between dementia patients' depression and caregiver burden was weaker among the family caregivers with a high level of finding positives in caregiving, compared with those with a low level of finding positives in caregiving. Conclusions This research suggests the importance of facilitating family caregivers of dementia patients to find positives in caregiving. It provides initial data for the development of dementia caregiver burden interventions that are based on the understanding of the deep meaning of dementia caregiving.
