Suppose that, for each \(f \in {\cal F}\), f (m)(z) ≠ h(z) for z ∈ D. Let F be a family of meromorphic functions on D, all of whose zeros are of multiplicity at least k. If there exist b not equal 0 and h > 0 such that for every f is an element of F, (E) over bar(f)(0) = (E) over bar(f)(k)(b) and 0 < \f((k+1))(z)\ less than or equal to h whenever z is an element of (E) over bar(f)(0), then F is a normal family on D. The case (E) over bar(f)(0) = empty set is a celebrated result of Gu [5].

Abstract:This paper investigates the relationship between the normality and the shared values for a meromorphic function on the unit disc Δ. Based on Marty’s normality criterion and through a detailed analysis of the meromorphic functions, it is shown that if for every f ∈ \(\mathcal{F}\), f and f(k) share a and b on Δ and the zeros of f(z) − a are of multiplicity k ⩾ 3, then \(\mathcal{F}\) is normal on Δ, where \(\mathcal{F}\) is a family of meromorphic functions on the unit disc Δ, and a and b are distinct values.

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, we prove that for a transcendental meromorphic function f(z) on the complex plane, the inequality T(r, f) < 6N (r, 1/(f2 f(k)−1)) + S(r, f) holds, where k is a positive integer. Moreover, we prove the following normality criterion: Let ℱ be a family of meromorphic functions on a domain D and let k be a positive integer. If for each ℱ ∈ ℱ, all zeros of ℱ are of multiplicity at least k, and f2 f(k) ≠ 1 for z ∈ D, then ℱ is normal in the domain D. At the same time we also show that the condition on multiple zeros of f in the normality criterion is necessary.

Abstract:Let l be a positive integer, be a constant, and ( ) be a function holomorphic in a domain D , all of whose zeros have multiplicity at most l , and let be a family of meromorphic functions defined in D . Abstract:In 1986, S.Y. Li and H. Xie proved the following theorem: letk≥2and letFbe a family of functions meromorphic in some domainD, all of whose zeros are of multiplicity at leastk. ThenFis normal if and only if the familyFk={f(k)1+|f|k+1:f∈F}is locally uniformly bounded inD.Here we give, in the case k=2, a counterexample to show that if the condition on the multiplicities of the zeros is omitted, then the local uniform boundedness of F2 does not even imply quasi-normality. In addition, we give a simpler proof for the Li–Xie theorem (and an extension of it) that does not use Nevanlinna’s Theory which was used in the original proof.
