Abstract:. Signiﬁcant changes have been made to both the interior and external environments of urban planning and development. With the vigorous promotion of new urbanism and the application of the precise “multi-regulation” standard put out by the state for the growth of new urbanization. The planning system must be reformed,auniﬁedspatialplanningsystemmustbeestablished,theurbandevelop-mentboundarymustbeset,andtheurbanecologicalredlinemustbedrawn.Urban planningisundergoingacrucialphaseofdynamicchange,andmanyplanning agenciesareimplementingorcontemplatingchangestotheirmanagementand informationtechnologysystems.Theacceptanceofabuildingplanningschemeis acrucialcomponentofthoroughurbanplanningworkandapowerfulassurance ofthesafeandefﬁcientrunningofcities.BuildingInformationModel(BIM)and GeographicInformationSystem(GIS)integrationhasbecomemorewidespread andin-depthoverthepastfewyears,andtheBIMmodel’srichgeometricand semanticinformationandtheH-dimensionalGIS’sgooddatamanagementand visualizationanalysisabilityofferamoredependablesolutionforbuildingplan-ningapproval.Thisstudyﬁrstdiscussesthecontextandenvironmentofcontempo-raryplanningresearch,followedbyanexplanationoftheideaandoperationofthe WebGLstandardandananalysisofthebeneﬁtsofWebGLoverconventionalWeb 3D visualization technology. The goals of the 3D planning visualization platform are analyzed in this study together with the technological approach and overall design. The research ﬁndings are then validated through the use of a prototype system.
