Analysis of schistosomiasis reporting to epidemic situation net from 2005 to 2007 in Anhui province

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the superiority and shortcoming of reporting schistosomiasis to epidemic situation net and improve network reporting quality.Methods Total patients with schistosomiasis reported by epidemic situation net from 2005 to 2007 were selected and the database was set up and analyzed.Results From 2005 to 2007, 457 cases with schistosomiasis were reported to the epidemic situation net, and 191 were acute cases.33% of the cases were reported by anti-schistosomiasis stations, 4.6% by Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, 56.7% by hospitals, 5.7% by health centers of township.There were many cases reported by units of elsewhere.40.9% of the cases were reported by stations in different counties in Anhui Province, 10.7% were reported by stations in other provinces.The quality of reporting was good generally, but the completeness and timeliness of the reporting should be improved.Conclusion The epidemic situa-tion net is benefit to find, survey and control acute schistosomiasis.But it is not suitable for reporting of ad-vanced cases.The medical institutions should ensure the manpower,equipment and fund for the reporting net.It is necessary to reinforce the train of report and diagnosis of schistosomiasis to improve the reporting quality.
