Abstract:Based on a comparison of the education system and education philosophy in schools of electronic information in German and Chinese universities of science and engineering,the essay analyzes the difference of present education system in evaluation system,management system,practice and application.By making full use of the successful teaching experience in Germany,the present author puts forward some suggestions on teaching system,philosophy and other aspects,shedding light on domestic educational reform of the specialty,and a new educational system which takes students as the main body.

Abstract:After an investigation and analysis, the authors clarify students’ awareness and understanding of general education and their needs for general education. The authors hope that this clarification can help university libraries improve their service capability in general education by providing the exact services needed by students. Abstract:This paper investigates the homepage construction of university branch libraries(UBLs) of 10 Chinese and foreign universities by applying the typical survey method.By comparing the similarities and differences of the UBL homepages in their construction form,functionality,and content of services,the successful experience in the UBL homepage construction is concluded.It is suggested that Chinese UBL homepage construction can be developed and improved in some aspects including highlighting the subject navigation functionality,establishing a communicative and interactive platform for patrons.

Abstract:A reasonable design of borrowing policy helps to regulate the reader's reading behavior and improve the use of the collections of a library,to meet the needs of different readers.By investigating and analyzing the borrowing privileges of some Chinese and America's famous university libraries,this paper compares the borrowing privileges in aspects of types setting of reader,documents type,borrowing item number and duration and overdue fines rule.It puts forward recommendations by acting on international standards,to improve the management level and service level,to reasonably develop the subdivision standards,as well as clear punitive measures,and to improve the utilization of literature.

Abstract:Although the perceptions of library user education of academic libraries has been studied in a general context, specific studies on perspective of library and information science students are relatively few, especially in the context of Asia. Filling this research gap is particularly important because it affects the experiential learning of these pre-professionals, and shapes future library user education directions. As such, this study aims at understanding and comparing the views and perceptions of library user education programs in Greater China from the perspective of library and information science students. A total number 305 questionnaire survey responses were collected from three different universities in Greater China, namely: The University of Hong Kong (HKU), National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), and Peking University (PKU). Results from this survey study reveal high evaluations of library user education programs and library user education librarians as a whole, as well as possible ways for librarians to better promote such programs. Such ratings are attributed to findings from previous studies on why students choose librarianship as a career, as well as the importance of experiential learning embedded in the Library and Information Science programs at each university. Findings of this study also suggest that as pre-professionals (soon-to-be professional librarians), these student respondents recognize the values behind library user education as an important part of their overall learning practices. Results from this study will be useful in identifying how future library professionals in Greater China perceive library user education programs, and librarians – therefore potentially helping librarians improve the delivery of these services.

Abstract:This study is based on the belief that inquiry-based learning should be made an integral part of any student's learning, especially at university level. To find out the students' perceptions toward library user education, 426 questionnaire surveys have been collected from the Peking University (PKU), China and the University of Tsukuba (UT), Japan. The results of this study indicate that, compared with UT, PKU students on the whole expressed higher ratings in many areas toward the user education programs provided by their respective library, and they also had a more positive view about the professional competence of the user education (reference services) librarians. The researchers believed that the different perceptions found between the PKU and UT groups were a direct result of the distinctive learning practices and curricular requirements exercised between the two universities. There are not many articles that explore the relationship between inquiry-based learning and the library user education in Asia. The findings of this study are useful for identifying the different learning modes between these two groups of students, as well as other barriers that were preventing the library user education programs to be integrated into inquiry-based learning, and the university's core curriculum as a whole.

Abstract:With the continuous improvement of China's social and economic level, education, especially college education, has been highly valued by people and has achieved certain results. For the development of colleges and universities, library construction is an important part of it and to a certain extent promotes the stable development of colleges and universities. Judging from the actual development of domestic university libraries, many university libraries have gradually entered the path of socialized service. Due to the profound influence of traditional education mode and test-oriented education concept, many university libraries in China are currently developing socialization. There are some problems that need to be solved in the service work process. The existence of these problems makes many domestic university libraries unable to play their own roles and individual values, and it also seriously affects the rapid development of China's college education. Based on this situation, the author makes an in-depth analysis and discussion on the status quo and optimization strategies of the socialization service of university libraries in China, hoping to provide reference for the social service work of college libraries nationwide.

Abstract:This paper aims to comprehensively discuss the current situation and challenges of the construction of international Chinese teaching resources in Qingdao University of Science and Technology Library, and put forward some improvement strategies. Through the method of literature investigation and analysis, this paper finds that the library's international Chinese education collection resources lack diversity and low utilization rate. The findings clearly point to the need to take measures to increase the diversity of international Chinese learning literature, improve resource utilization, promote the development of electronic resources, and strengthen internal and external cooperation. This paper especially emphasizes the importance of optimizing the creation and acquisition of international Chinese learning resources to improve the quality of education and meet the needs of readers. Through the implementation of these measures, the service level of libraries can be improved effectively, and the development of international Chinese education and the learning needs of readers can be better supported.

Abstract:The analysis of present situation of university libraries in China shows that the literature resources and the readers are all diversified. The urge demand for the libraries includes fast and efficient services and group work. The university libraries are characterized as knowledge carriers, information servers and literature collectors. The libraries should be reformed to provide diversified resources, precise services and easy acquisition of literatures. The reform of university libraries should follow the way from library planning, resources construction to literature sharing. The construction of library houses, literature resources and librarian teams is analyzed. The reform will force the libraries to be specialized in providing literature services. The libraries will continue to function as a typical cultural area in university campus.
