Abstract:We investigate the entanglement of a three-level atom in Λ configuration interacting with two quantized field modes by using logarithmic negativity. Then, we study the relationship of the atomic coherence and the entanglement between two fields which are initially prepared in vacuum or thermal states. We find that if the two fields are prepared in thermal states,the atomic coherence can induce the entanglement between two thermal fields. However, there is no coherence-induced entanglement between two vacuum fields.

Abstract:Summary form only given. Strong light-atom interaction is at the heart of atomic, molecular and optical physics; and is also important to quantum optics, quantum computing, nuclear magnetic resonance and laser. When an atom (or two-level system) is illuminated by a coherent beam of photons, it will cyclically absorb photons and re-emit them by stimulated emission, which is called Rabi oscillation. Here we developed a semiclassical framework to model the phenomenon via a self-consistent solution to Maxwell-Schrödinger equations. Different from Maxwell-Bloch equations, the wave function of the atom replacing for the density matrix nonlinearly interacts with the magnetic vector potential under coulomb gauge condition. A well-posed time evolution system derived from light-atom Hamiltonian is numerically solved by finite-difference time-domain method. The developed semiclassical Maxwell-Schrödinger framework could be generalized to model light-exciton interaction in semiconductor nanostructures.
Entanglement Properties of Two-atoms Interacting with Field in Dissipative Cavity

Abstract:By means of the quantum theory,the interaction between two-atoms located inside a dissipative cavity and single-mode coherent field was studied.The entanglement properties,between two atoms and between two-atoms and light fields,were analyzed.In addition,the reason that the decay of the cavity field and the detuning between the atom and cavity field affect the evolution of entanglement was discussed.The results show that when there is cavity loss,entanglement between the atoms and light fields may occur,however entanglement gradually disappear in the long time limit.Also,the detuning between the atom and cavity field significantly affects the entanglement.The entanglement between two atoms initially in the maximally entangled states is gradually weakened due to the decay of the light field,but the detuning between the atom and the cavity field can inhibit this decay.

Abstract:The Hamiltonian operator of a system of single-mode light field interacting with Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) of two-level atoms is discussed in terms of the lattice-liquid model. It is indicated that the contribution of the interaction between atoms to the Hamiltonian was irrationally overestimated in the literature, so the Hamiltonian operator is improved in the present paper. Based on the improved Hamiltonian, the equations of motion of the photon and atomic operators are derived analytically. The relevant parameters in the model are estimated in connection with the BEC experimental conditions. The influence of the interaction between atoms in the BEC on the squeezing of light field and the atomic lasers is studied. The results show that the dependence of squeezing factor with atom number in BEC is different from that given in literature. and the fluctuations of two quadrature components of light evolve periodically with cosine law and the fluctuations of two quadrature components of the atomic laser can be squeezed.

Abstract:With the concept of negative photon and the -photon J C model, we investigate analytically the effect of virtual photon field on the collapse revival effect of atomic inversion and squeezing of atom, we find that there is a significant effect of virtual photon field on atomic inversion and squeezing of atom; with the one-photon model as an example, we find that the squeezing of atom occurs periodically, the time and times of squeezing are only related to the resonance frequency and the amplitude of squeezing related to coupling constant of atom field, mean photon number and resonance frequency; also we show that the effect of squeezing of atom does not exist within rotating wave approximation if . Taking the approach of nearest-neighboring spectrum in the quantum chaos field, we investigate the properties of energy spectrum in one-photon JC model and show that the integrable region, non-integrable region and transition region of this system can be illustrated by a phase diagram;also we discuss the influence of interaction of atoms on spectrum and statistics of adjacent energy levels, we find that the influence of interaction is little obvious in strong field but takes great important role in weak field.

Abstract:The interaction of an M-level atom with a single mode of a cavity field initially in a squeezed state is investigated in this paper. The time evolution of nonclassical characteristics of the field, such as the field squeezing, antibunching, and sub-Poisson distribution, is computed and discussed in detail. It is found that the initial coherent excitation strength has crucial influence on how such nonclassical behavior can be maintained in the propagation of squeezed light.

Abstract:Quantum entanglement and atomic coherence are examined for a system consisting of a four-level atom (FLA) interacted with a nonlinear quantum field. We assume that the FLA-field coupling, Kerr medium and quantified field are all -deformed with full nonlinear formalism. We consider N-configuration and cascade (C)-configuration of the FLA. We explore the impact of field deformation and Kerr medium on the dynamics of the quantumness measures when the quantized field is initially prepared in a deformed coherent state without and with Kerr medium effect. Moreover, we examine the statistical properties of the radiation field using the second order correlation function. The results indicate how the considered quantumness measures in the FLA–field system can be manipulated and controlled through the parameters of the quantum model.

Abstract:The evolution of the field (atomic) entropy in a system of a quasi_Λ_type fourlevel atom interacting with an uncoupled two_mode coherent field is investigated. The effects of initial atomic state, the initial mean photon number and the splitting of the atomic energy levels on the entropy are discussed. The system reduces to that of a twolevel or threelevel atom interacting with a singlemode coherent field in special cases.

Abstract:As an important parameter, von Neumann entropy has been used to characterize the entanglement between atom and light field. We discussed the entanglement and nonclassicality evolution of an atom in a squeezed vacuum—a typical nonclassical field, and compare it with that of the coherent state. It shows that the atom-field entanglement in squeezed vacuum is much stronger and stabler than that in coherent state, whereas the nonclassicality of the light field depends on its initial status. This investigation is trying to find a new insight into the relation between entanglement of atom-field system and nonclassicality of light fields. The result shows that the entanglement between the atom and the field can be maintained well in the squeezed vacuum and this implies better control of atom and photon mutually.

Abstract:First-order correlation functions of the electric field and photon-number probabilities in the case of a three-level atom interacting with two-mode radiation field are obtained to investigate the coherent properties of the stimulated emission under different initial conditions. It is found that double stimulation will cause the field to approach its initial coherent state and the oscillation of the photon-number probabilities to collapse and revive.

Abstract:The far-field patterns of atoms diffracted from a classical light field, or from a quantum one in a photon-number state are identical. On the other hand, diffraction from a field in a coherent state, which shares many properties with classical light, displays a completely different behavior. We show that in contrast to the diffraction patterns, the interference signal of an atom interferometer with light-pulse beam splitters and mirrors in intense coherent states does approach the limit of classical fields. However, low photon numbers reveal the granular structure of light, leading to a reduced visibility since Welcher-Weg (which-way) information is encoded into the field. We discuss this effect for a single photon-number state as well as a superposition of two such states.

Abstract:We characterize the interaction between a single atom or similar microscopic system and a light field via the scattering ratio. For this, we first derive the electrical field in a strongly focused Gaussian light beam, and then consider the atomic response. Following the simple scattering model, the fraction of scattered optical power for a weak coherent probe field leads to unphysical scattering ratios above 1 in the strong focusing regime. A refined model considering interference between the exciting and scattered field into finite-sized detectors or optical fibers is presented, and compared with experimental extinction measurements for various focusing strengths.

Abstract:By founding multiphoton Janes-Cumming model of a two-level atom interacting with photon-added coherent light,the atomic inversion is studied with using the technique of numerical simulation when the photon-added number m changes(m≤2).And the squeezing effect of two quadrature components of the atomic dipole is discussed.The result shows that the revival-collapse phenomenon appearing in the evolution of atomic inversion presents periodicity with the number m increasing;and the squeezing phenomena of atomic dipole moment have been generated when m=1,2.

Abstract:The development of quantum optics theory based on the method of integration within an ordered product of operators (IWOP) has greatly stimulated the study of quantum states in the light field, especially non-Gaussian states with various non-classical properties. In this paper, the two-mode squeezing operator is derived with integral theory within the Weyl ordering product of operators using a combinatorial field in which one mode is a chaotic field and the other mode is a vacuum field. The density operator of the new light field, its entanglement property and photon number distribution are analyzed. We also note that tracing a three-mode pure state can yield this new light field. These methods represent a theoretical approach to investigating new density operators of light fields.

Abstract:The Atomic coherence of the interaction between the N-type four level atom and the photon field is calculated theoretically.Then,this paper discusses the effects made by the level relaxation,the laser line width and the incoherence to the atcmic coherence.It concludes that the increase in N-type four level atom's relaxation,the laser line width and the incohesence will lead to the decrease in the atomic coherence.

Abstract:The system of a two-level atom interacting with a quantized radiation field in a gravitational field is studied by making use of a dynamical algebraic method. A full quantum treatment of the internal and external dynamics of the atom is given and an exact expression for the time evolution operator of the system is obtained. The influence of the gravitational field on the collapses and revivals of the atomic population, sub-Poissonian statistics, radiation force, atomic momentum diffusion, and squeezing of the radiation field is also investigated.

Abstract:The entanglement and squeezing properties of a two-mode field are investigated in the system of a double-ladder four-level atom embedded in a two-mode cavity. It is found that the system can reduce to the nondegenerate parametric oscillator which is responsible for the entanglement and squeezing of a cavity field under suitable conditions. Moreover, compared to the field from the three-level cascade atomic system, the degree of entanglement in the present system can be improved significantly.

Abstract:We find that a four-level atom–two-driving field coupled system has four coherent population trapping states. We show that quantum interference between different spontaneous emission pathways from the upper to the lower levels can lead to coherent population trapping states stable against the radiative decay of the upper levels. By adjusting the detuning of the driving fields, we can control the population trapped in the upper levels via quantum interference. We also find that quantum interference can much largely delay the relaxation of the atom to the steady state. We also notice that the quantum interference results in the dependence of the atomic steady state on the initial condition although the interaction of the atom with the vacuum modes is considered.
