Abstract:The title molecule, C22H16ClNO5, was obtained by the reaction of (E)-ethyl 3-(3-chlorophenyl)-2-cyanoacrylate and 2-hydroxynaphthalene-1,4-dione catalysed by triethylamine in ethanol. In the crystal structure, the chlorobenzene ring makes a dihedral angle of 88.63 (4)degrees with the fused ring system. Abstract:In the title compound, C33H31Cl2NO6, the five-membered ring displays an envelope conformation, whereas the two six-membered rings both exhibit a chair conformation. As for the seven-membered ring, the dihedral angle between the mean planes formed by the four C atoms of the envelope unit and the three C and one O atoms of the six-membered chair is 69.08 (4)degrees, and these two mean planes are nearly perpendicular to the epoxy ring, making dihedral angles of 87.53 (4) and 88.67 (4)degrees, respectively.

Abstract:In the title compound, C27H27BrFNO4, which is an inhibitor of acetyl-CoA carboxyl-ase, the cyclo-hexane ring displays a chair comformation with the spiro-C and meth-oxy-bearing C atoms deviating by 0.681 (7) and -0.655 (1) Å, resppectively, from the mean plane formed by the other four C atoms of the spiro-C6 ring. The mean planes of the cyclo-hexane and 2-bromo-4-fluoro-phenyl rings are nearly perpendicular to that of the pyrrolidine ring, making dihedral angles 89.75 (6) and 87.60 (9)°, respectively. Abstract:The current study focuses on the synthesis of a new organic compound namely, ethyl 2-benzoyl-3,3-bis(methylthio)acrylate, whose structural characterization was performed by single-crystal X-ray analysis. The central portion of the title molecule is planar. The benzoyl and one methylthio group are perpendicular to this plane while the ester and the other methylthio group lie close to the plane. In the crystal, C–H···O hydrogen bonds form chains along the b -axis direction which pack with normal Van der Waals interactions. A Hirshfeld surface (HS) analysis showed H⋅⋅⋅H contacts account for 48.3% of the intermolecular contacts in the crystal packing. The energy framework analysis shows that the contribution of dispersion forces in crystal packing is dominant among other energies. The density functional theory (DFT) study using the 6–31 + G(d,p) basis set provides further insight into reactivity and electronic and optical properties in the gas phase. The HOMO–LUMO gap for the title compound is small which indicates its soft nature and high reactivity. Natural population analysis (NPA) reveals excellent charge transfer and donor–acceptor properties in the compound. The computed global reactivity descriptors also indicate the electronic stability and reactivity of the structure. Molecular electrostatic potential (MESP) map suggested electron-rich sites around the carbonyl (C = O) and oxygen atoms while the corner carbon atoms of the benzene ring are suitable for nucleophilic attack. Furthermore, the significant dipole moment ( μ o ) and polarizability ( α o ) suggest its high polarizability and optical properties. The measured static first hyperpolarizability ( β o ) value of 266.74 au indicates its nonlinear optical (NLO) properties.

Abstract:In the title molecule, C18H11Cl3N2O2, the central benzene ring is oriented at 8.44 (12) and 70.57 (11)degrees with respect to the terminal chlorophenol and dichloropyridine rings, respectively. The molecular structure is stabilized by an intramolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bond, which generates an S(6) ring motif. Abstract:In the title compound, C15H12FN3O3S2, the two six-membered rings are essentially coplanar, their mean plnes making a dihedral angle of 1.1 (2)degrees. The carbonyl C, the two attached non-fused C atoms and the S atom deviate from the plane of the benzene ring by -0.046 (5), -0.017 (5), 0.000 (6), 0.026 (4) A, respectively. The angle between the mean planes of the triazole ring and the sulfur heterocycle is 53.3 (1)degrees.
