Abstract:The design of a radiation-hardened real-time operating system (RTOS) that fits the requirements and software and hardware architectures of pico-satellites and their on-board computers (OBC) those are different from large spacecrafts was proposed. Simplified structures and functions, and pertinent reliability enhancing technologies were introduced to the kernel, file system, protocol stack, and application programming interfaces design of the RTOS. In the meantime, radiation hardening and fault detection, isolation and recovery mechanisms based on memory hardening, operating system (OS) self-inspection and hardware monitoring were designed to orient to the RTOS itself, registers of CPU and external devices, and memories, in order to improve the reliability of the OBC and satellites where it embeds. Tests and experiments show that the RTOS possesses correct functionality, sufficient performance, effective radiation-hardening scheme and resource consumption that comply with 1st degree derating. Currently, the RTOS has been put to use on a pico-satellite product model.

Abstract:This paper mainly presents the application of RTOS μC/OS-II in a system of a mobile car based on the Samsung ARM7 micro processor S3C44B0X. By the scheduling method of multi-task RTOS, we solve the problem of poor real-time performance in single task design method, as well as improve the system's reliability. Abstract:With the development of soccer robots, application of embedded real-time operating system (RTOS) in the control system of robots is attracting more and more considerable attention for meeting the increased requirements of complexity and real time. A control system of intelligent robocup was developed, which was based on the embedded RTOS of MicroC/OS-II and the digital signal processing (DSP) chip of TMS320F2407. It adopted the control algorithm of PPLID available in the literature. This control system is superior in computation, control and real-time performance.

Abstract:The software of artificial organ is more and more complex, but it lacks real-time operating system to manage and schedule its resources. In this paper, we propose a lightweight real-time operating system (RTOS) Cyborgan OS based on the SmartOSEK OS. Cyborgan OS optimizes and improves it from the code size, context switch, low power consumption, and partial dynamic update, making it suitable for the artificial organ control system. Finally, we use the heart blood pump model to analyze the task allocation and execution sequence as well as the code size of the whole program. In this application, the maximum space occupied by the code is only 15 kB, which is suitable for most microcontrollers.

Abstract:This paper worked out one method to apply the 32 bit micro-controller(S3C4510B) based on ARM7TDMI system structure to automatic monitored control system.In the uClinux operation system,it designed the hardware and software which functioned successfully in the network image transferring through the S3C4510B control module.In addition,it described how to write Bootloader and transplant the core of uClinux operation system in S3C4510B chip.It is possible to the commercial applications of automatic monitored control system for this system's high speed and stability.

Abstract:Based on some thorough analysis of OSEK/VDX specification,this paper presents how to design an 8 bit OSEK/VDX-based Real-time Operating System(RTOS)——FDOSEK from the task schedule,resource management and event mechanism,and then realizes its kernel on the MC9S08DZ60 chip of Freescale.It tests the task schedule time and storage requirements.Test results show that FDOSEK is suitable for automotive electronics industry with a strong real-time capability and low storage requirements.

Abstract:The hardware resource limit and real time need have made it difficult to design embedded multimedia terminal's software. We have designed and implemented a device's software system. This device is a set-top box called SOPCA that can receive and play digital TV programs. in designing SOPCA's software modules, we bring forward a scheduling method based on tasks. Each self_governed function is implemented in one task. And all SOPCA's functions are achieved via these task cells' coordination. This method boosts up system's modularity, scalability and transplantability. It has some significance for other embedded systems' designing.

Abstract:Because of the complexity and Time-To-Market challenge in system-on-chip (SOC) design, the real-time operating system (RTOS) has become indispensable in SOC. In the HDTV integrated source-decoding chip, the RTOS, named Iota, is designed for the management of memory units, I/O devices and the scheduling and synchronization of multitasks. In this article, the design principle of a multi-task real-time operating system with small-memory footprint is proposed. The I/O management of Iota is implemented in hardware components and a hybrid scheduling mechanism is adopted for the tasks in the decoding chip. Furthermore, a simple memory protection mechanism is realized to improve the robustness of the system.

Abstract:With the development of low-cost microcontrollers, sensors and wireless communications, intelligent environment monitoring based on the Internet of Things (IoT) has become possible. In this paper, an indoor environment monitoring system constructed by sensor network is realized. The system consists of distributed sensing nodes, which contain temperature and humidity, human infrared, voice recognition and camera sensors, etc. The nodes are connected to STM32 microcontrollers and WIFI modules and are scheduled in real time using free real time operating system(FreeRTOS). The visual and time series sensing data are transmitted to the server via WIFI in real time, and the user can monitor the system remotely by using the PYQT interface program on the PC. The system can also control home appliances by voice. The data interaction uses self-built WIFI module in AP mode for SOCKET communication. Through rigorous testing, the system demonstrates the capability of data communication, low-latency video streaming, and bi-directional control. The sensor network and real-time OS based architecture utilizes parallel execution to balance different temporal tasks and realize an agile cyber-physical system. This paper provides a reference for the underlying software infrastructure of intelligent buildings, embodying the integrated application of real-time scheduling, sensor networks and human-computer interaction.

Abstract:This paper puts forward SmartOSEK, a dependable platform for automobile electronics, which consists of an operating system compliant with OSEK/VDX specifications and an integrated development environment (IDE) that consists of many convenient tools, such as visual designer, system generator, time analyst, scheduling analyst, and running tracer. In the operating system, SmartOSEK OS and SmartOSEK COM are presented. In the IDE, we apply the graphic design, automatic code generation and time analysis to help developers devote their mind to the modeling of the applications. A design example of automated transmission system based on SmartOSEK platform is given, and good results are achieved.
