Abstract:It is apparent that civil analog walkie-talkie will be substituted by civil digital walkie-talkie. For the sake of reducing the production cost, this paper puts forward a scheme which utilizes the SoC (System on Chip) technology to design the ASIC for civil analog walkie-talkie. Based on analyzing the structure of civil digital walkie-talkie, this paper particularly introduces several key modules of the chip, such as microprocessor and interface、voice coding/decoding module、base band and RF module、the clock signal.

Abstract:A digital walkie-talkie scheme using CP4FSK modulation based on ARM 9 and ADF 7021 processors is designed.Board support package is developed,consisting of boot loader,OEM adaption layer and peripheral hardware drivers.Windows Embedded CE operating system is transplanted.Bi-serial interface and related drivers between modulation system and embedded processor are developed.At last,the hardware system of the experiment platform is completed and tested.

Abstract:Digital multimedia broadcasting is available in more and more countries with various forms. One of the most successful forms is Digital Video Broadcasting for Terrestrial (DVB-T), which has been deployed in most countries of the world for years. In order to bring the digital multimedia broadcasting services to battery-powered handheld receivers in a mobile environment, Digital Video Broadcasting for Handheld (DVB-H) has been formally adopted by ETSI. More advanced and complex digital multimedia broadcasting systems are under development, for example, the next generation of DVB-T, a.k.a. DVB-T2. Current commercial DVB-T/H receivers are usually built upon dedicated application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). However, ASICs are not flexible for incoming evolved standards and less overall-area efficient since they cannot be efficiently reused and shared among different radio standards, when we integrate a DVB-T/H receiver into a mobile phone. This paper presents an example implementation of a DVB-T/H receiver on the prototype of Infineon Technologies' Software-Defined Radio (SDR) platform called MuSIC (Multiple SIMD Cores), which is a DSP-centered and accelerator-assisted architecture and aims at battery-powered mass-market handheld terminals.

Abstract:This paper presents an implementation of Software-defined Radio (SDR) system over ARM Cortex-A9 processor. Compared with conventionally used general purpose CPU, e.g. X86 CPU, ARM processors have advantages in both price and power consumption under the same computing capability. Two basic issues of SDR over ARM are investigated: the real-time operation and signal processing efficiency. For the former issue, we select the Linux-based real-time operating system Xenomai, which is built on Cortex-A9 platform. Testing results show that the performance of Xenomai on Cortex-A9 meets the real-time requirement of SDR. Furthermore, the NEON technology of Cortex-A9 is used to optimize the complex signal processing algorithms in communication systems. Soft Demodulation is taken as an example for the optimization, and the experimental results are provided to show the improvement of signal processing efficiency.

Abstract:The design and implementation of the digital baseband part of a DAB transmitter prototype are introduced.It is composed of ensemble multiplexer,channel encoder and OFDM modulator.The equipment is totally compatible with ETS 300 401 and other related standards.It supports services with various data formats and supplies a convenient user interface with the ensemble multiplexer as well.All of its I/O s and the core parts are implemented using modular desig n based on universal int ernal interface,thus can be flexibly configured accordi ng to different demand.Co mpared with the existing products,it can provide highe r flexibility and operating easiness on a much lower cost level.

Abstract:In order to better verify cognitive radio(CR) technology,a design method of CR terminal based on ARM and DSP is introduced. For availing the advantage of ARM and DSP, S3C2410, produced by SAMSUNG is used as the central control core of the system, while DSP6416T, produced by Texas Instruments, is used as the real-time data processing core. Point-to-point data communication and intelligent switching frequency are realized, and the basic CR’s concepts and key technology are also verified.

Abstract:DW8051 is a 8-bit microcontroller core that is instruction-set-compatible with the industry-standard 8051.An approach to the design of central processing module of baseband SoC for digital interphone is described.The architecture of baseband SoC and functions of the central processing module are analyzed firstly,and then a verification platform is designed to test whether low-end 8051 microcontroller meets work requirements of the system,finally design method and verification process for the central processing module based on DW8051 IP core are discussed in detail.

Abstract:This paper presents an embedded video system based on RISC CPU AT91RM9200 and digital media processor TMS320DM642, which includes two major functional units, namely, communication control unit and media processing unit. The former being in charge of the coding bit stream communication and interface control and the later undertaking multimedia processing. Data exchange between them is realized via host port interface ( HPI). Finally, the software architecture is introduced. Embedded Linux operation system and DSP/BIOS real-time operation system are adopted by ARM and DSP, respectively.

Abstract:This paper design and implement an SDR-based baseband MP-SoC DXT501. It contains four high-performance 32-bit ASIPs, a real-time 32-bit RISC processor, a high-performance dual-core 32-bit GP processor ARC HS47Dx2, and some hardware accelerators that support LTE, 4G, MulteFire, and 5G(Release15). What's more, a mobile device solution supporting multiple protocols is proposed. The practical test shows that the mobile device running on the MulteFire 1.1 protocol in the unlicensed frequency band has a transmission capacity of more than 300Mbps in uplink and 150Mbps in downlink, which can meet the requirements of modern industrial wireless communication applications such as mobile inspection robots.

Abstract:A low-hardware-complexity baseband processor was designed to reduce the cost of the IEEE 802.11b WLAN system. The baseband processor includes synchronization, acquisition, and complementary code keying (CCK) demodulation. The correlator uses a transposed architecture for signal acquisition and synchronization. The antenna lock technique during acquisition is also described. The CCK demodulator is based on a Fast Walsh Transform (FWT) block, with a novel algorithm used to reduce the hardware complexity. After simulation and verification, the chip was designed using 0.25 μm TSMC digital CMOS technology. The design has about 320000 gates and a chip area of about 13 mm 2. The simulation results show that the design satisfies all the design requirements.

Abstract:To satisfy the requirements of both programmability and reusability, a design methodology to implement a compatible embedded digital audio decoding subsystem is proposed. With the SW/HW(software/hardware) co-design strategies, a way to set up the system frame and SW/HW architecture of the audio decoding subsystem is introduced. Based on the algorithm analysis and design strategies, the system could achieve real-time requirement, and the requirement of precision is fully satisfied. An evaluated ARM7+FPGA platform is set up to test the chip with verification of RTL, software simulation based on ADS(ARM Developer Suit). The expected effect which is shown by the verification of demo chip is obtained.

Abstract:Acoustics is the most efficient carrier for long-range information transmission under the water. Recently, the Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) is used for high-speed underwater acoustic communication because of its high efficiency in using wideband frequency and strong resistance to inter symbol interference (ISI). However, this modulation requires large-scale computation so each node consumes huge amount of power. When the power is insufficiency, the node may collapse. In order to solve this problem, optimized transmission and receiving algorithm are developed on an ARM9-based embedded system, which equipped with an additional DSP (TI C6748). The ping-pong processing and data transmission are realized by using a DMA address list, while the modulation is optimized by using the TI's DSP function library. The optimized transmission and receiving algorithm are implemented in underwater acoustic communication. Different pilots are applied to test the system performance. Low BER is achieved and power consumption is reduced.

Abstract:In this paper we present a novel digital baseband processor designed for UWB transceiver on RFID tag. It is a low power and low voltage (1.8V) full digital ASIC which is implemented in 0.18 mu m CMOS technology. The processor receives serial signals (consist of data and commands) from the RF Receiver, and based on received command carries out various functions such as receive data and write to the memory, compare data, send data, set/reset tag, kill tag and etc. The processor mainly consists of eight sub modules: Receive Buffer, Transmit Buffer, Random Number Generator (RNG), Slot Counter, Memory Controller, Reset Counter, Comparator, Controller.

Abstract:The architecture of a baseband processor designed for IEEE 802.11b wireless local area network (WLAN) is described in the paper. The main theme is focused on synchronization, acquisition and complementary code keying (CCK) demodulation. A special transposed architecture of the correlator is investigated, which will be utilized during synchronization and acquisition. The antenna lock technique during acquisition is also described here. The CCK demodulator is implemented with fast Walsh transform (FWT), followed by a symbol decision module, which is designed with a novel algorithm and can be implemented with much less hardware.

Abstract:Designd an embedded information acquisition and transmission device based on the platform of AT91RM9200 processor.Combined the serial communication and Internet technology,the device transplanted the embedded Linux systems of open source,and the necessary peripherals drivers and applications were designed.The device can complete the tasks of information acquisition,processing and transmission in the site-specific environment.Experiments show that the device can meet the requirements that real-time acquisition of information on the spot and send the information,it had been successfully applied to the remote automatic meter reading system.

Abstract:A design method of slot-embedded industrial personal computer (IPC) system based on ARM9 is presented in this paper. This method includes the design of hardware structure and software management platform of the IPC system. The hardware structure, which includes PCI communication module, man-machine interface module, Ethernet communication module and CAN bus communication module, is addressed in detail. The Linux operating system is employed as the software management platform, and a dual-core structure is used to study its real-time performance. The proposed system has the merit of low cost, strong versatility, stable and friendly interface. It will be widely used in the field of industrial control.
