Abstract:In this study, a 700 m-long medium reactor for reclaimed water was constructed to simulate an actual pipeline network. The water quality change trends along the path were determined. Within the same stage, the NO2-, NH4+, and PO43- contents at different sampling points decreased along the path, while the NO3- content increased. At different stages, the reduction rate of NH4+ and PO43- followed an increase-decrease-increase cycle, while the contents of iron and heterotrophic (HPC) increased. The microstructure of the corrosion products along the pipeline was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy. Combined with the corrosion rate, the corrosion products in the pipeline followed a growth–maturity–desorption–recorrosion cycle. Based on this, principal component analysis (PCA) was used to comprehensively evaluate the coupling between water quality, microorganisms, and corrosion products. The correlation between water quality and microorganisms showed that residual chlorine, NH4+, and PO43- were significantly negatively correlated with HPC. NO3- and Fe were significantly positively correlated with HPC. The correlation between microorganisms and corrosion showed that HPC and Fe were positively correlated with the corrosion rate.
