Abstract:This article studies a nonlinear Schodinger equation with harmonic potential by constructing different cross-constrained problems. By comparing the different cross-constrained problems, we derive different sharp criterion and different invariant manifolds that separate the global solutions and blowup solutions. Moreover, we conclude that some manifolds are empty due to the essence of the cross-constrained problems. Besides, we compare the three cross-constrained problems and the three depths of the potential wells. In this way, we explain the gaps in [J. Shu and J. Zhang, Nonlinear Schodinger equation with harmonic potential, Journal of Mathematical Physics, 47, 063503 (2006)], which was pointed out in [R. Xu and Y. Abstract:This paper is concerned with the supercritical nonlinear Schrodinger equation with a harmonic potential which describes the attractive Bose-Einstein condensate under a magnetic trap. We establish two types of new invariant evolution flows. Then, in terms of the Hamiltonian invariants, we derive a new sharp energy criterion for global existence and blowing up of solutions of the equation, which can be precisely computed in the Bose-Einstein condensate.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish two new types of invariant sets for the coupled nonlinear Schrödinger system in the Euclidean n-space Rn and derive two sharp thresholds of blow-up and global existence for its solutions. Some analogous results for the nonlinear Schrödinger system posed on the hyperbolic space Hn and on the standard 2-sphere S2 are also presented. Our arguments and constructions are improvements of some previous works on this direction. At the end, we give some heuristic analysis about the strong instability of the solitary waves. The relation between the two types of thresholds is a very interesting problem, and we leave it as an open problem for further study.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem of nonlinear Schrdinger equation with harmonic potentials in one dimension.  i φ t=-φ xx +x 2φ-φ|φ| 4, t≥0, x∈R. On the basis of the local well posed theorem, we obtain the L 2 control condition of the global existence by using a class of special variantional approach along with mass and energy conservation law moreoever, applying method of undetermined multipliers, matlab numerical technique and boundedness principle, we show the sharp numerical representation of the L 2 control condition.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem of a nonlinear Schrödinger system. Through establishing a sharp weighted vector-valued Gagliardo–Nirenberg’s inequality, we find that the best constant in this inequality can be regarded as the criterion of blowup and global existence of the solutions when p=4/N. And we prove that the solutions of this system will always exist globally if p<4/N. The sharp thresholds for blowup and global existence are also obtained when 4/N≤p<4/(N−2)+.

Abstract:We study a type of nonlinear parabolic equations. In terms of the variational characterization of the corresponding nonlinear elliptic equations and the invariant flow arguments, we establish the sharp criteria for global existence and blow-up.
