Abstract:Polymer physics is one of the most intricate and difficult courses in polymer science for both undergraduate students and teachers.This manuscript focused on how to explain complicated concepts in polymer physics clearly.As an example,when teaching the theory of rubber network,an efficient method,exploring-discussing method,has been used.The ideal network polymer rubber network theory is the assumption of the ideal state.The reference to the interconnection point in the crosslinking deformation before and after deformation are fixed in its position on the average,deformation,these crosslinking occurred affine transformation,that is their position changes with the proportion of the macro-rubber specimen deformation of the same.It must be remarked that considerable controversy exists over the existence of physical cross-links.A theory has been proposed in which the chains in the crosslinking network may transect one another freely and are not restricted to neighboring chains,called "phantom network".By a combination of exploring the knowledge and presentation,the rubber elasticity theory has well been understood by the undergraduate students.
