Abstract:In this paper we briefly discuss some of our recent results in the study of moduli space of Riemann surfaces. It is naturally divided into two parts, one about the differential geometric aspect, another on the topological aspect of the moduli spaces. To understand the geometry of the moduli spaces we introduced new metrics, studied in detail all of the known classical complete metrics, especially the Kähler-Einstein metric. As a corollary we proved that the logarithmic cotangent bundle of the moduli space is strictly stable in the sense of Mumford. The topological results we obtained were motivated by conjectures from string theory. We will describe in this part our proofs by localization method of the Mariño-Vafa formula, its two partition analogue as well as the theory of topological vertex and the simple localization proofs of the ELSV formula and the Witten conjecture. The applications of these formulas in Gromov-Witten theory and string duality will also be mentioned.
On a Generalization of Quasi-metric Space

Abstract:We find an extension of the quasi-metric (to be called $g$-quasi metric) such that the induced generalized topology may fail to form a topology. We show that $g$-quasi metrizability is a $g$-topologically invariant property of generalized topological spaces. Extending metric product and uniform continuity for $g$-quasi metric spaces, we note that a $g$-quasi metric may fail to be uniformly continuous in the extended sense unlike usual metric. Finally, we extend the study of completeness, Lebesgue property and weak $G$-completeness for $g$-quasi metric spaces.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the compactifications of some topological spaces such that their remainders have countable tightness. We also study addition theorems for compacta. The main results are: (1) If bX is a compactification of a first-countable space X with a Gδ-diagonal (or a space X with a point-countable base) and bX∖X has countable tightness, then both bX and bX∖X have countable fan-tightness; (2) If a non-locally compact paratopological group G has a compactification bG such that the remainder bG∖G is the union of a finite family of metrizable subspaces, then G is locally separable and locally metrizable; (3) If a compact Hausdorff space Z=X∪Y, where X is a non-locally compact topological group which is a σ-space and dense in Z, and Y is a semitopological group, then Z is separable and metrizable; (4) If a compact Hausdorff space Z=X∪Y, where X is a non-locally compact paratopological group that has a countable network and is dense in Z, and Y is a semitopological group, then Z is separable and metrizable. Among them (2) and (3) improve the corresponding results given by A.V. Arhangel'skii in [7].

Abstract:For a space $X$, let $(CL(X), \tau_V)$, $(CL(X), \tau_{locfin})$ and $(CL(X), \tau_F)$ be the set $CL(X)$ of all nonempty closed subsets of $X$ which are endowed with Vietoris topology, locally finite topology and Fell topology respectively. We prove that $(CL(X), \tau_V)$ is quasi-metrizable if and only if $X$ is a separable metrizable space and the set of all non-isolated points of $X$ is compact, $(CL(X), \tau_{locfin})$ is quasi-metrizable or symmetrizable if and only if $X$ is metrizable and the set of all non-isolated points of $X$ is compact, and $(CL(X), \tau_F)$ is quasi-metrizable if and only if $X$ is hemicompact and metrizable. As an application, we give a negative answer to a Conjecture in \cite{LL2022}.

Abstract:In this paper, we study metrizable and weakly metrizable coset spaces. It is mainly shown that (1) If H is a closed neutral subgroup of a topological group G, then G/H is metrizable ⇔ G/H is bisequential ⇔ G/H is weakly first-countable ⇔ G/H is a Fréchet-Urysohn space with an ωω-base; (2) If H is a closed neutral subgroup of a semitopological group G, then G/H is metrizable if and only if G/H is a paracompact feathered space with countable π-character; (3) If H is a closed neutral subgroup of a paratopological group G such that G/H is a Hausdorff space, then G/H is quasi-metrizable if and only if G/H is first-countable; (4) If H is a closed neutral subgroup of a quasitopological group G, then G/H is semi-metrizable if and only if G/H is first-countable.

Abstract:In this paper, we provide sufficient conditions for a space X to satisfy the Ganea conjecture for topological complexity. To achieve this, we employ two auxiliary invariants: weak topological complexity in the sense of Berstein–Hilton, along with a certain stable version of it. Several examples are discussed.

Abstract:The theory of generalized metric spaces is an active topic in general topology. In this article, we utilize the concepts of ideal convergence and networks to discuss the metrization problem and the mutual classification problem between spaces and mappings in topological spaces. We define I - s n -metrizable spaces, obtain several characterizations of I - s n -metrizable spaces, and establish some mapping relations between I - s n -metrizable spaces and semi-metric spaces. These not only generalize some theorems in generalized metric theory, but also find further applications of ideal convergence in general topology.

Metrization of Gromov-Hausdorff-type topologies on boundedly-compact metric spaces

Abstract:We present a new general framework for metrization of Gromov-Hausdorff-type topologies on non-compact metric spaces. We also give easy-to-check conditions for separability and completeness and hence the measure theoretic requirements are provided to study convergence of random spaces with additional random objects. In particular, our framework enables us to define a metric inducing a suitable Gromov-Hausdorff-type topology on the space of rooted boundedly-compact metric spaces with laws of stochastic processes and/or random fields, which was not clear how to do in previous frameworks. In addition to general theory, this paper includes several examples of Gromov-Hausdorff-type topologies, verifying that classical examples such as the Gromov-Hausdorff topology and the Gromov-Hausdorff-Prohorov topology are contained within our framework.

Abstract:We prove that the g-function operator g(phi), where 0 (x) = h (I x 1) Q (x) with Omega(x) = Omega(x') is an element of H-1(Sn-1) and h(s) satisfing certain continuity hypothesis, is bounded on Triebel-Lizorkin space F-p(alpha,q)(R-n) when 0 < a < 1 and 1 < p, q < infinity. In particular, we get that the Marcinkiewicz integral operator mu(Omega) with H-1-kernel is bounded on F-p(alpha,q).

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate submetrizability and first-countability of coset spaces. It is mainly shown that (1) If H is a compact subgroup of a paratopological group G such that l(G/H)ψ(G/H)≤ω, then G/H admits a weaker separable metrizable topology; (2) If H is a closed neutral subgroup of a paratopological group G, then G/H is first-countable if and only if G/H is weakly first-countable; (3) If H is a closed neutral subgroup of a topological group G, then G/H is metrizable if and only if G/H is a csf-countable and sequential α7-space; (4) If H is a compact subgroup of a topological group G, then G/H is metrizable if and only if G/H is feathered and csf-countable.

Abstract:For two not necessarily commutative topological groups G and T, let H(G,T) denote the space of all continuous homomorphisms from G to T with the compact-open topology. We prove that if G is metrizable and T is compact then H(G,T) is a k-space. As a consequence we obtain that if G_1 is a dense subgroup of G then H(G_1,T) is homeomorphic to H(G,T), and if G is separable h-complete, then the natural map G --> C(H(G,T),T) is open onto its image.

Abstract:We mainly discuss the cardinal invariants and generalized metric properties on paratopological groups or rectifiable spaces, and show that: (1) If $A$ and $B$ are $\omega$-narrow subsets of a paratopological group $G$, then $AB$ is $\omega$-narrow in $G$, which give an affirmative answer for \cite[Open problem 5.1.9]{A2008}; (2) Every bisequential or weakly first-countable rectifiable space is metrizable; (3) The properties of Fr$\acute{e}$chet-Urysohn and strongly Fr$\acute{e}$chet-Urysohn are coincide in rectifiable spaces; (4) Every rectifiable space $G$ contains a (closed) copy of $S_{\omega}$ if and only if $G$ has a (closed) copy of $S_{2}$; (5) If a rectifiable space $G$ has a $\sigma$-point-discrete closed $k$-network, then $G$ contains no closed copy of $S_{\omega_{1}}$; (6) If a rectifiable space $G$ is pointwise canonically weakly pseudocompact, then $G$ is a Moscow space. Also, we consider the remainders of paratopological groups or rectifiable spaces, and give a partial answer to questions posed by C. Liu in \cite{Liu2009} and C. Liu, S. Lin in \cite{Liu20091}, respectively.

A Toponogov globalisation result for Lorentzian length spaces

Abstract:In the synthetic geometric setting introduced by Kunzinger and Sämann, we present an analogue of Toponogov's Globalisation Theorem which applies to Lorentzian length spaces with lower (timelike) curvature bounds. Our approach utilises a "cat's cradle" construction akin to that which appears in several proofs in the metric setting. On the road to our main result, we also provide a lemma regarding the subdivision of triangles in spaces with a local lower curvature bound and a synthetic Lorentzian version of the Lebesgue Number Lemma. Several properties of time functions and the null distance on globally hyperbolic Lorentzian length spaces are also highlighted. We conclude by presenting several applications of our results, including versions of the Bonnet--Myers Theorem and Splitting Theorem for Lorentzian length spaces with local lower curvature bounds, as well as discussion of stability of curvature bounds under Gromov--Hausdorff convergence.

Abstract:In this paper,we show that if a rectifiable space G is a locally Lindel(o)f ∑-space,then G is strongly paracompact,which improves a result given by Lin-Zhang-Zhang [Topology Appl.,2015,193:182-191].We prove that if a rectifiable space G has a compactification bG such that bG \ G is a locally σ-space,then G is either locally compact or separable and metrizable,which generalizes a result obtained by Arhangel'skii-Choban [Topology Appl.,2010,157(4):789-799].We also show that if a non-locally compact k-gentle paratopological group G has a compactification bG such that bG \ G has locally a Gδ-diagonal,then either G is a σcompact cosmic space,or bG is separable and metrizable,which generalizes two results given by Arhangel'skii [Topology Appl.,2007,154(6):1084-1088] and Liu [Topology Appl.,2009,156(5):849-854].

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, it is shown that there exists a connected topological group which is not homeomorphic to any $\omega $-narrow topological group, and also that there exists a zero-dimensional topological group $G$ with neutral element $e$ such that the subspace $X = G\setminus \{e\}$ is not homeomorphic to any topological group. These two results give negative answers to two open problems in Arhangel’skii and Tkachenko [Topological Groups and Related Structures (Atlantis Press, Amsterdam, 2008)]. We show that if a compact topological group is a $K$-space, then it is metrisable. This result gives an affirmative answer to a question posed by Malykhin and Tironi [‘Weakly Fréchet–Urysohn and Pytkeev spaces’, Topology Appl. 104 (2000), 181–190] in the category of topological groups. We also prove that a regular $K$-space $X$ is a weakly Fréchet–Urysohn space if and only if $X$has countable tightness.

Abstract:We resolve the topological version of the Erdős Similarity conjecture introduced previously by Gallagher, Lai and Weber. We show that a set is topologically universal on ${\mathbb R}$ if and only if it is of strong measure zero. As a result of the fact that the Borel conjecture is independent of the \textsf{ZFC} axiomatic set theory, the existence of an uncountable topologically universal set is independent of the \textsf{ZFC}. Moreover, our results can also be generalized to locally compact Polish groups ${\mathbb G}$. Returning to the measure side, we pose Full-Measure universal Erdős Similarity Conjecture with strongly meager sets via the duality of measure and category.

Abstract:This paper is dedicated to Professor A.V. Arhangel'skiı̌ on the occasion of his 85th birthday. The theory of generalized metrizable spaces is an important topic of general topology. This paper is a survey of research methods and achievements on generalized metrizable properties in topological groups and weakly topological groups. We mainly study this kind of properties in topological groups, semitopological groups, paratopological groups, quasitopological groups and free topological groups, and focus on the influence of separation properties, conditions for weakly topological groups to become topological groups, cardinal invariants, weak first-countability, three-space properties and remainders in compactifications on topological groups and related structures. Finally, some unsolved problems in this field are listed for researchers.
