Treatment of cholelithiasis by laparoscopy combined with choledochoscopy for preservation of gallbladder

Abstract:【Objective】To discuss the effectiveness of treating cholelithiasis by laparoscopy combined with chole-dochoscopy for preservation of gallbladder.【Methods】A clinical study of 52 patients with cholelithiasis,who were treated by laparoscopy and choledochoscopy for preservation of cholecyst and removal of calculi in the Second Hospital Affiliated to Tianjin Medical University from May 2007 to Jan.2009,was conducted.The gallbladder stones was extracted with choledochotomy,the incision of the gallbladder was sutured with absorbable suture 5～0(polyglycolic acid braided suture) by dissecting forceps and needle blocker.【Results】The gallbladder stones were successfully cleared and complete recovery was obtained in all the patients without relapse during the 3-6 month follow-up and the cholecysts were preserved.No related complications were observed.None had leakage of the bile juice.The functions of the cholecysts were normal on the 7th day.【Conclusions】This operative method is minimally invasive and safe with few complications and quick recovery,and is feasible to those patients with cholelithiasis who have no symptom and have normal cholecyst function,and hope strongly to preserve cholecyst.It is of great value to be recommended in clinical practice.
