Biochemical marker and quality character analyses of lines derived from wheat variety Chuannong 16

Abstract:The bio-chemistry characters and quality properties of 17advanced lines derived from 99E18×Chuannong 16 were evaluated.These lines showed similar A-PAGE and SDS-PAGE profile and shifted towards Chuannong 16,and most of these lines were 1BL/1RS translocations.The co-existence of 7+8 and 20 in part of lines indicated that the two subunits had co-dominant inheritance.Meanwhile,there was 1 line had the same HMW-GS composition with 99E18.There were 10 lines had higher protein content and 16 lines had better wet gluten than Chuannong 16,all lines had higher values of stability time and SDS-sedimentation value.The results demonstrated the derived-line had better quality based on Chuanong16.Cluster analysis was performed by using quality characters,and the 17 lines were classified into 2 groups.The results were useful for the further improvement of Chuannong 16 in wheat breeding.
