Cluster Analysis of Agronomic and Quality Characters in Sichuan Wheat Landraces

Abstract:The 6 agronomic characters and 19 quality indexes of 67 wheat landraces in Sichuan were detected in order to use these landraces efficiently in wheat breeding.The result indicated that the 67 Sichuan wheat landraces were clustered into four groups based on protein quality,starch quality and other quality indexes.The group Ⅳ including 10 landraces with the better agronomic characters and other qualities.Their average plant height was higher,spike number per plant in average was the highest,1000-grain weight and starch content were lower,and protein quality was the best.Based on the agronomic and dough quality,the 67 Sichuan wheat landraces were also clustered into four groups,among which 12 landraces in the groupⅢ were the better in agronomic and dough quality,and their spike number per plant and grain weight per plant were the highest,stability time and farinogram quality number were higher,and their 1000-grain weight was lower.Five landraces of AS1675,AS1656,AS1594,AS1643 and AS1590 were both existed in above two good quality types.These landraces could were used for improvement of wheat varieties.
