Abstract:A novel theoretical model of the component agent was proposed based on multi-layer finite state machine (FSM) and the requirements of collaborative design. And a new collaborative design-oriented product data model (CDPDM) was put forward. The CDPDM included three basic data modules (function data, structure data and management data) and a remote data modification module. This model had five characteristics: neutral representation, reusability, knowledge engineering, remote data modification and self-management. By combining the theoretical agent model with the CDPDM, a product component agent frame was proposed and some key issues, e. g. environment model construction, program and data encapsulation, software reuse and strategy set organization, were discussed. The practical application in demonstration enterprise shows that the proposed system can enhance the ability of the collaborative product design.
CAD/CAE Integration Framework with Layered Software Architecture

Abstract:By introducing an open-sourced CAD abstraction component common geometry module (CGM) as the integration middleware, a three-layer scheme is implemented to integrate our CAE software high end digital prototyping (HEDP) with mainstream CAD software. The major advantages of a layered software design are two-folded for CAE software developers. One is to provide unified interfaces with the differences of currently available CAD products hided. The other is to encapsulate common services relevant to geometry in the integration middleware. Both advantages could help alleviate development burdens greatly. Moreover, this paper will introduce three important functionalities for CAE systems built on the integration middleware, i.e. data transfer, defeaturing and virtual geometry operations with some practical examples. The above work consists of our preliminary efforts for the research of a third-party CAD/CAE integration middleware neutral for any CAD and CAE products.

Abstract:Component-based Functional Integrated Circuit System (FICS) refers to the design and implementation of FICS using the Integrated Circuit system components. This paper discusses two parts: the Component-based Services Framework (CSF), or rather, the FICS framework for component-based application services, and Functional Integrated Circuit System Architecture Description Language (FICSADL), or rather, the application layer language for FICS service framework. The paper defines the FICSADL language elements, descriptive methods and formal specification by means of mapping the components of the service layer onto the connectors of the semantic layer. Various FICS business and system requirements are met by adjusting the connector glue parts on the semantic layer. Finally, the paper demonstrates the FICSADL π-calculus. This component-based FICS design and implementation is a design and implementation straight and directly from the algorithm to chip.
Componentialization of Learning System and Its Object-Oriented Programming Implementation

Abstract:This paper presents an idea for the research and developing of learning systems - componentialization. A learning system is to be componentialized into some blocks of special function, each cooperates with others by some standardized interfaces. The developing and research works of a learning system is to be assigned to specialists of different related domains. The object-oriented programming idea is naturally integrated. A learning system, a component of it, or even a problem, may be fit for the concept of an "object" in object-oriented programming and may be described by a C++ class. The programming language C++ helps make clear the idea of componentialization and describe the implementation of it. An example of an actual case of componentialized learning system is presented with successful application, to show its feasibility and efficiency.

Abstract:A new method is presented to solve the open architecture problem and to improve the reliability of CNC system by using software reuse and component technology in this paper. At first,the feasibility of developing CNC system with software component is discussed, and the conception of CNC software components and the integrated and normative description of the component are also offered. Under this condition, this paper introduces a method for the analysis of reuse and the common principles that should be followed in the process for developing CNC systems with software component technology. Then the steps for developing software CNC system is described from the points of view of a developer and a consumer respectively. In the end,an example demonstrating the specific implement of this kind of thought is shown. This method is proved to be effective by developing a prototype example.

Abstract:Dedicated to the lack of efficient developing approach of message-oriented application,a kind of Message-oriented Component(MoC) is proposed.This paper introduces conception and characteristic of the component,and analyzes the internal structure of MoC.An example is given to show how to use MoC for fast development in practice.The results indicate MoC approach increases the speed and the efficiency of developing message-oriented application.

Abstract:The OMG released the CORBA 3.0 in August 2002. A component model is contained in CORBA 3.0, CORBA Component Model (CCM). In this model, a CORBA component defines not only the services it provides but also the services it required. So CORBA components can be assembled via their ports. At the same time, CCM inherits the advantages of other existing component models such as COM, EJB, and it takes full advantages of CORBA. Based on the research of CORBA Component Model and the related technology in the CCM assembly framework, this paper exploresthe application of CCM-Based system development.

Abstract:This paper presents an Infrastructure for Managing and Controlling Agents' Cooperation (IMCAC). The goal of IMCAC is to realize the distributed service integration over the Internet. Regarding providing service as the central task, IMCAC creates a transparent integration to make the easy use of every kind of service in heterogeneous, open and dynamic network environment. This paper expatiates on IMCAC from three basic aspects: explicitness of semantics for information content, the core control mechanism of Agent cooperation, and individualization for adjusting agent service. Then we discuss application of IMCAC by a test. The paper concludes that IMCAC will become integration mechanism of various Agents cooperation techniques.

Abstract:Modern embedded systems tend to be heterogeneous in the sense that components in a system have diverse interaction styles. Composition of subsystems with very different characteristic complicates embedded software development and challenges understandability, composability, and scalability of models. The paper describes a model driven component framework, Pcanel, to solve this problem. It proposes a hierarchical model structure and semantic framework that supports heterogeneous components. Pcanel drives component execution by models of computation, allowing the formal analysis, verification and validation of the embedded software. Models explicitly represent the designer's understanding of the system, and capture the requirements and the design of the application. The paper presents the principles and techniques of Pcanel in details. Examples in terms of real systems are given that illustrate how Pcanel addresses the heterogeneity nature and the assurance issues of embedded software composition.

Abstract:Most computer aided process planning (CAPP) systems can not adapt to different applications and their changes. A more flexible CAPP framework system (CAPPFS) is proposed with a five layer architecture. An application independent information element method (IEM) is proposed to implement a CAPPFS. In IEM, a piece of information about any object attribute is generally abstracted as an information element (IE) entity which includes attribute name, describing value and the relation between them. Since the IE is the essential entity in information modeling and system development, IEM avoids specifying the attributes of an object in advance. Information abstraction, decision making and function abstraction based on IEM are discussed with sevral applications of a CAPPFS implemented by IEM.

Abstract:In current enterprise modeling field research, the model structure and modeling tools are generally limited to a specific modeling theory that is not flexible, so it is hard to meet the modeling requirements of different industries. This paper proposes a CIEMA (Configurable Integrated Enterprise Model Architecture), wherein we use a model configurable file that is independent from the business system to abstractly express model structure, thereby supporting the extensibility and configuration of different modeling methods. First, we propose a formal representation of CIEMA's basic elements and construct CIEMA's hierarchical structure; then, we use XML to design configurable file and its corresponding mapping method, thereby supporting the development of an executable system; finally, through the realization and application of the modeling platform to verify CIEMA's extensibility, we achieve configurability and good performance.

Abstract:Based on the research of previous models of CAD systems, the component based model is presented in this paper, aiming at the openness, integration and efficiency of CAD systems. Functions of components and communication among them are discussed in detail. The model has a double bus architecture, is better in openness than the previous models, is proved to be a solid base for the modelling and implementation of efficient CAD systems with clear architecture. In addition, components can be used as the base of software reuse.

Abstract:Applying thinking of middleware and component based development that used in business and desktop system into Distributed Real-time and Embedded (DRE) software is currently a popular topic. CORBA Component Model (CCM) solved issues for component based development in multi-platform and language independence. While, for DRE software CCM has some limitation. This paper will first introduce component model and CCM, and then characterize the key challenges confronting DRE software researchers and developers, at last present an optimized component model named Z-CCM in order to increase development productivity for DRE software. Z-CCM optimizes CCM mainly on 3 aspects below: 1) QoS assurance provision, 2) coupling of component meta-data with component functionality, 3) component reliability.
