Abstract:Dynamics of quantum entanglement of two qubits in two identical quantum Rabi models is studied analytically in the framework of corrections to the rotating-wave approximations. A closed-form expression for the entanglement dynamics initiated from the well-known Bell states is derived, which is very close to the numerical exact results up to the ultrastrong coupling regime. It is found that the vanishing entanglement can be purely induced by the counter-rotating terms, and can be enhanced with the atom-cavity coupling.

Abstract:We investigate a two-level atom coupled to a cavity with a strong classical driving field in a dissipative environment and find an analytical expression for the time evolution density matrix for the system. The analytical density operator is then used to study the entanglement between the atom and cavity by considering the competing process between the atom–field interactions and the field–environment interactions. It is shown that there is an optimal interaction time for generating atom–cavity entanglement.

Abstract:We propose a scheme for controllably entangling the ground states of five-state W-type atoms confined in a cavity and realizing swap gate and phase gate operations. In this scheme the cavity is only virtually excited and the atomic excited states are almost not occupied, so the produced entangled states and quantum logic operations are very robust against the cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission.

Abstract:A protocol is proposed to generate atomic entangled states in a cavity QED system. It utilizes Raman transitions or stimulated Raman adiabatic passages between two systems to entangle the ground states of two three-state $\Lambda$-type atoms trapped in a single mode cavity. It does not need the measurements on cavity field nor atomic detection and can be implemented in a deterministic fashion. Since the present protocol is insensitive to both cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission, the produced entangled states may have some interesting applications in quantum information processing.

Abstract:We propose a scheme to generate four Bell states and a four-atom entangled cluster state in a thermal cavity. The photon-number-dependent parts in the effective Hamiltonian are canceled with the assistance of a strong classical field. The cavity field is only virtually excited; no quantum information will be transferred from the atoms to the cavity and thus the scheme is insensitive to the cavity decay and the thermal field. The scheme can also be used to generate the cluster state for the trapped ions.

Abstract:We propose a cavity-QED scheme that can deterministically generate Einstein-Podosky-Rosen polarization-entangled photon pairs. A four-level tripod atom successively couples to two high-Q optical cavities possessing polarization degeneracy, assisted by a classical π-polarized pump field. The stimulated Raman adiabatic passage process in the atom-cavity system is used to produce the polarization-entangled photon pairs. The proposal is particularly robust against atomic spontaneous decay, which should have potential applications in quantum information processing.

Abstract:We propose a protocol to realize quantum phase gates and generate entangled states between two atoms trapped in one cavity. In Lamb-Dick limits, it is not necessary to require coincidence detections, which will relax the conditions for the experimental realization. The protocol can be generalized to generate N -atom entangled states.

Abstract:An alternative scheme is proposed for generating the Greenberg–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) and W types of the entangled states with multiple superconducting quantum-interference device (SQUID) qubits in a single-mode microwave cavity field. In this scheme, there is no transfer of quantum information between the SQUIDs and the cavity, the cavity is always in the vacuum and thus the requirement on the quality of cavity is greatly loosened. In addition, during the process of the generation of the W entangled state, the present method does not involve a real excitation of intermediate levels. Thus, decoherence due to energy relaxation of intermediate levels is minimized.

Abstract:By constructing the recovery operations of the protocol of remote implementation of partially unknown quantum operation of two qubits [An-Min Wang: Phys. Rev. A 74 (2006) 032317] with two-qubit Cnot gate and single qubit logic gates, we present a scheme to implement it in cavity QED. Long-lived Rydberg atoms are used as qubits, and the interaction between the atoms and the field of cavity is a nonresonant one. Finally, we analyze the experimental feasibility of this scheme.

Abstract:A potential scheme is proposed to generate complete sets of entangled photons in the context of cavity quantum electrodynamics ( QED). The scheme includes two interactions of atoms with cavities, in which the first interaction is made in two-mode optical cavities and the second one exists in a microwave cavity. In the optical cavities, the atoms are resonant with the cavity modes, while the detuned interaction of the atoms with a single-mode of the microwave cavity is driven by a classical field. We show that our scheme is carried out with higher efficiency than previous schemes, and is close to the limit of current techniques.

Abstract:We propose a simple scheme for implementing resilient two-qubit entangling gates in universal cavity QED systems. The technique employs suitably designed laser pulse with modulated amplitude and phase to decrease residual qubit-cavity entanglement that reduces the fidelity of the desired entangling operation. Numerical simulations suggest that the optimized gates are robust against errors in gate time, frequency detuning, atom-field coupling constant and pulse amplitude. Moreover, the optimized gates provide increased robustness to cavity decay as well as strong suppression of atomic spontaneous emissions. With modest experimental parameters the scheme could enable a high gate fidelity exceeding 99% in realistic scenarios. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract:We propose a scheme to generate a 3 x 3-dimensional maximally entangled state of two particles. Two three-level atoms interact with a strongly detuned cavity so that the cavity is only virtually excited and efficient decoherence time of the cavity is greatly prolonged. Abstract:We propose a scheme to generate cluster states of atomic qubits by using cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) and linear optics, in which each atom is confined in a resonant optical cavity with two orthogonally polarized modes. Our scheme is robust to imperfect factors such as dissipation, photon loss, and detector inefficiency. We discuss the experimental feasibility of our scheme.
