Abstract:We present a scheme to generate maximally entangled states of two three-level atoms with a nonresonant cavity by cavity-assisted collisions. Since the cavity field is only virtually excited no quantum information will be transferred from the atoms to the cavity.

Abstract:We investigate a two-level atom coupled to a cavity with a strong classical driving field in a dissipative environment and find an analytical expression for the time evolution density matrix for the system. The analytical density operator is then used to study the entanglement between the atom and cavity by considering the competing process between the atom–field interactions and the field–environment interactions. It is shown that there is an optimal interaction time for generating atom–cavity entanglement.

Abstract:In some off-resonant cases, the reduced density matrix of two atoms symmetrically coupled with an optical cavity can very approximately approach maximally entangled mixed states or maximal Bell violation mixed states in their evolution. Abstract:A simple scheme is presented for generating four-photon entangled states with interaction between a three-level atom and two bimodal cavities.In the proposed protocol,the quantum information is encoded on Fock states of the cavity fields.The detection of the atom can collapse the cavity made/wave function to the desired state.The experimental feasibility of our proposal is also discussed.

Abstract:We propose a scheme to generate a 3 x 3-dimensional maximally entangled state of two particles. Two three-level atoms interact with a strongly detuned cavity so that the cavity is only virtually excited and efficient decoherence time of the cavity is greatly prolonged. Compared to other protocols, this protocol is simpler and has a higher fidelity.

Abstract:We investigate the system, which consists of two two-level atoms confined in a linear trap which has been surrounded by an optical cavity, with the Milburn model of intrinsic decoherence, and find an explicit analytical solution of the Milburn equation. The entanglement between the two atoms is then calculated by making use of concurrence. The influence of intrinsic decoherence on the entanglement is also discussed.

Abstract:We propose a method of generating a four-atom entangled cluster state by considering two kinds of the atoms–cavity field interaction in cavity QED. During the preparation the cavity is only virtually excited no quantum information will be transferred from the atoms to the cavity and thus the scheme is insensitive to the cavity field states and cavity decay. The scheme can also be used to generate the cluster state for the trapped ions.

Abstract:A scheme is proposed for the generation of two-atom maximally entangled states and realization of quantum logic gates and teleportation with cavity QED. The photon-number-dependent parts in the effective Hamiltonian are canceled with the assistance of a strong classical field. The cavity field is only virtually excited; no quantum information will be transferred from the atoms to the cavity and thus the scheme is insensitive to the cavity decay and the thermal field. The scheme can also be used to generate the cluster state for the trapped ions.

Abstract:We propose a scheme to implement two-bit quantum phase gates and one-bit unitary gates by using the two-mode two-photon Jaynes-Cummings model. The entanglement between the atom and cavity is also investigated in the presence of phase decoherence. It is found that there is stationary entanglement that is sensitive with the detuning.

Abstract:We propose a scheme to prepare the Bell states for atomic qubits trapped in separate optical cavities via atom-cavity-laser interaction. The quantum information of each qubit is encoded on the degenerate ground states of the atom, so the entanglement between them is relatively stable against spontaneous emission. The proposed scheme consists of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) with two arms, and each arm contains a cavity with an N-type atom in it. It requires two classical fields and a single-photon source. By controlling the sequence and time of atom-cavity-laser interaction, the deterministic production of the atomic Bell states is shown. We also introduce the generalization of the present scheme to generate the 2N-atom Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state.

Abstract:A scheme is presented for preparing multi-atom entangled states based on the Raman atom-cavity-fieId interaction. After several degenerate Lambda-type three-level atoms interact with an appropriately prepared single-mode cavity field through Raman coupling. a two-level atom. resonant with the cavity, is sent through the cavity and a Ramsey zone. The detection of the two-level atom leaves the Lambda-type atoms in an entangled state.

Abstract:We present a simple scheme to realize a highly controlled and selective atom-field interaction in cavity quantum electrodynamics system. It is shown that, based on such a selective interaction, nontrivial Dicke states of N trapped neutral atoms can be produced step by step in an optical cavity with a very high fidelity in the presence of the cavity decay. The scheme does not need a single-photon source and its injection into an optical cavity, and the atomic spontaneous emission is strongly suppressed due to a large atom-field detuning.

Abstract:We present a proposal to generate quintupartite entanglement with an optomechanical dual-cavity containing an ensemble of Λ-type three-level atoms. By solving the Heisenberg-Langevin equations, we show that entanglement among the two cavity fields, two mechanical oscillators, and atoms can be realized via atomic coherence and cavity field radiation pressure. In addition, within the experimentally available range of parameters, the larger the input laser power, atomic ensemble number, and quality factors of the cavity and mechanical oscillators, and the smaller the environmental temperature, the stronger the multipartite entanglement. This atom-cavity-optomechanical hybrid system provides an efficient and convenient platform for quantum states exchange between macroscopic (mechanical oscillators) and microscopic (atoms, photons) matters, and may find promising applications in realistic quantum information processing.

Abstract:We propose a scheme for the generation of two-mode entangled states between two spatially separated cavities. It utilizes a two-level atom sequentially coupling to two high-Q cavities with a strong classical driving field. It is shown that by suitably choosing the intensities and detunings of the fields and coherent control of the dynamics, several different entangled states such as entangled coherent states and Bell states can be produced between the modes of the two cavities.

Abstract:We explore a feasible scheme for generating entangled states for three-level multi-atom trapped within spatially separated cavities. The scheme involves interaction-detection cycle and utilizes resonant atoms with an extra ground state not coupled to the cavity field. Additionally, the scheme can also be generalized to transmit an unknown two-atom entangled state assisted with two auxiliary atoms. Very different from the previous standard schemes, the teleportation of an unknown two atomic entangled state in our scheme is independent of the Bell-state measurement. The current scheme makes use of resonant atom-field interaction instead of Raman coupling, and thus the interaction time is greatly shortened. Furthermore, since the cavities are left in the vacuum state and the atoms are in the ground state, the prepared entanglement states are insensitive to the cavity decay and the atomic spontaneous emission. Abstract:We propose a scheme for generating maximally GHZ state for four atoms trapped in a two-mode optical cavity via combination of cavity QED and linear optics system. The GHZ state can be not only generated deterministically with a single resonant interaction in cavity QED, but also can be prepared probabilistically based on cavity QED and linear optics elements. The fidelity of the entangled states is not affected by the atomic spontaneous, cavity decay, and imperfection of the photon-detectors. Finally, we briefly analyze and discuss the experimental feasibility of the proposed scheme.

Abstract:We propose a scheme to generate four-mode multiphoton entangled states by passing N identical atoms through two high-Q cavities in turn. In the case of N=1, the scheme can deterministically generate Einstein-Podosky-Rosen entangled photon pairs. We use adiabatical state evolution under large atom-cavity detuning, so the scheme is insensitive to atomic spontaneous decay. The influence of cavity decay on fidelity and success probability is also discussed.

Abstract:We propose a scheme for the controlled generation of Einstein-Podosky-Rosen entangled photon pairs from an atom coupled to a high Q optical cavity, extending the prototype system as a source for deterministic single photons. A thorough theoretical analysis confirms the promising operating conditions of our scheme as afforded by currently available experimental setups. Our result demonstrates the cavity QED system as an efficient and effective source for entangled photon pairs, and shines new light on its important role in quantum information science.

Abstract:Here we present a quantum electrodynamics model involving a large-detuned single-mode cavity field and n identical two-level atoms. One of its applications for the generation of multiparticle entangled states of various kinds (Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states and different class of so-called W states) is analyzed. The theoretical prediction for the model of $n=2$ is made that is consistent with the experimental result by considering the possible three-atom collisions.
