Abstract:The typical receiving-end systems in China are continuously connected with HVDC transmission lines, which changes the traditional grid form and makes the voltage stability problem prominent. How to understand the relation among voltage stability, power grid strength and equipment control is the key to grasp the mechanism of voltage stability and improve the control to avoid the systems entering into static voltage instability and transient voltage instability. In this paper, the relation among the transmitted active power, the voltage at the equipment infeed point and the current of AC system is studied, the relation among the voltage stability and the power grid strength and the control logic of the equipment is explained. Then, the influence rules of line reactance and equipment reactive power on the power limit trajectory (PLT) is studied. In the end, based on the power limit trajectory determined by line reactance, the simulation results of PSCAD/EMTDC showed that the improved DC control method can improve the voltage stability, and the theory in this paper has a certain practical guiding significance.

Abstract:Safety management is essential for production and business enterprise to guarantee the safety of both personnel and property. Safety management practices of power grid enterprises in China have a history of several decades with continuous development and improvement. However, there are still many shortcomings, especially in distribution networks. Distribution network companies in European countries have more mature measures in distribution network safety management, and in particular many of which are applicable to the market-oriented business environments. This paper studies the structure of safety management system for power grid enterprises in China and Europe. Two kinds of management systems are discussed and compared to propose suggestions for future development of power grid safety management in China.

Abstract:Enterprise-owned power plants have been increasingly built in China recently. With a real-world case, this paper presents a comprehensive procedure to deal with the stability and security assessment of such a power system. On software platform of ETAP, eleven typical load-flow operation points are set up as base cases for static analysis and short circuit analysis, stability and security assessment. Transient stability is simulated for fault contingencies at each bus and each branch. By this way, the features of the system operation and stability are explored. Accordingly measures concerned with excitation system, special protections, operation structures, are proposed to enhance the stability and security of the power system.

Abstract:As to distribution adjustment of power plant,the reliability of power supply,the stability of angle and voltage,and loss of active power can be calculated in parallel by comprehensively using of power flow analysis technique,the optimized approach,reliability theory and stability analysis method.Taking the regional planning for power grid of East China in 2015 with six sets of power plant adjustment schemes as example,the effect of distribution adjustment of power plant on the safety and energy-saving of power grid is analyzed,then suggested scheme of power plant adjustment is given.The results show that power plants that are properly configured in load center can help to improve reliability and stability of power grid and reduce losses,which achieve better whole energy-savings.

Abstract:Aiming at the current situation of safety protection of new power system, this paper analyzes the new risks introduced by the change of power supply structure, the new risks introduced by the change of power grid form, the new risks introduced by the change of operation characteristics and the new risks introduced by the change of technical foundation, sorts out the safety requirements of the new power system, and proposes a safety protection system for the business characteristics of the new power system. The protection system puts forward targeted measures from both management and technical aspects, among which the technical aspect is designed according to the strategies of zoning and domain hierarchy, security and trusted interaction, intelligent linkage defense, and collaborative comprehensive monitoring, and is refined according to existing technologies.

Abstract:Abstract This paper analyses the needs of smart grids for smart substation automation systems, studies and proposes a new scheme for smart substation automation systems, which applies vertical integration of intervals to reduce the implementation of protection and monitoring functions, improve system reliability and ease of maintenance; Adopting network parallel redundancy protocol to improve the reliability and standardization of information transmission in the station; applying service-oriented monitoring function to improve the level of information sharing and coordination and interaction between substations and control centres. The key technology of the system is expounded, and its application prospect is prospected. Finally, the discussion and analysis of some problems that may exist when the system is popularized and applied.

Abstract:In view of the challenge faced by electric power dispatching and control institutions that the conventional method of risk management and control is difficult to meet the increasingly complex situation of power grid operation,a new strategy of risk management and control based on-line stability analysis is presented.Both the professional concept and decision scope of the security risk management and control are introduced.And a technical route,which centers on the on-line stability analysis and coordinates and carries out the capacity analysis,on-line stability check,skylight period verification of major maintenance and quantitative contingency planning,is developed.On this basis,a new method of security risk control and management is constructed.The proposed method helps to change the traditional empirical and extensive risk management mode into a more intelligent and more scientific one,and then improves the capacity of the risk prevention and emergency disposition for electric power dispatching and control institutions.

Abstract:To meet the requirement of changing off-line power grid security and stability analysis into on-line analysis, after the comprehensive research of on-line assessment of such subproblems as static state security, voltage security and transient security as well as examination of protective relaying settings, a set of complete on-line comprehensive security forewarning and coordinated anticipatory control system based on energy management system (EMS) and the data platform of dispatcher training system (DTS) is established. In addition, a security evaluation system for on-line security and stability analysis as well as forewarning is proposed, thus the operation states of power grid are divided in the viewpoint of comprehensive security and forewarning. The proposed system not only offers a good platform for changing dispatchers’ off-line analysis into on-line analysis as well as changing the former experience based dispatching mode into intelligent dispatching mode, but also provides auxiliary tools. The proposed system is applied in Jiangxi power grid.

Abstract:With the development of power grid,the energy-conservation based dispatch(ECBD) has become an irresistible trend;therefore,it's very meaningful to analyze the impacts due to the ECBD on the security and stability of Shanghai power grid.In this paper,the ECBD model is presented and applied to the Shanghai power grid.According to the fact that Shanghai power grid is a large receiving-end system,this paper studies the impact of ECBD on Shanghai power grid from several aspects,such as N-1 check,static voltage stability and transient voltage stability and so on.In addition,this paper also finds out the weak areas in Shanghai power grid after ECBD,and the faults which may cause transient voltage instability.The results are very useful for the implementation of ECBD in Shanghai power grid and ensuring the security and stability of Shanghai power grid.

Abstract:Abstract The prevention and control of power grid blackout has become an important research content of the modern power industry and government departments. This paper collects and compares 160 influential international large-area blackouts since 1960, summarizes and analyzes the main causes, common problems and developing Process. Combined with the operation of China's power grid, the main risk sources of large-scale blackouts and the recovery process are summarized. Based on the lessons of international blackout accidents, some specific suggestions and countermeasures are put forward from four aspects, such as strengthening risk management and operation control of large power grid, which can provide useful reference for the safe operation of large power grids above provincial level.

Abstract:F there does not have enough support as a means of reactive power sources, the modern power system voltage instability will occur. Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Power Grid is load center in North China, the region's power supply relies heavily on its long-distance and heavy-load interconnection of other power grids. At the same time the region does not have sufficient dynamic reactive power support, so the voltage stability problems may be far more serious than power angle stability problems. In order to solve these problems, while improving power system stability, we study the control strategy for this real power grid. All the problems of the research we have adopted the means of whole-process power system transient simulation. In this paper, the methods of switching high-voltage controllable reactor are researched, which are more flexible to alleviate voltage instability, and the methods are also more convenient to coordinate with other conventional control methods. With the North China Power Grid simulations under the serious faults, results show that the method is effective. Finally, how to improve power system stability control method is proposed. Suffered the same fault in the power grid, the method can reduce the capacity of load rejection. © 2011 IEEE.

Abstract:Security and stability has become a major problem challenging Sichuan power grid, since it was connected with the Central China power grid. To improve the security and stability and effectively prevent collapses in Sichuan power grid, threefold methods are proposed in the paper based on the power grid's existing framework. Firstly, advanced nonlinear control technologies are adopted to improve the stability of power plants; secondly, FACTS technologies are applied to enhance the dynamic performance and stability of Sichuan power grid; meanwhile proposals are forwarded for the SPG's planning, so as to rationally allocate power flow. A series of systematic control strategies regarding collapse prevention are presented in the paper, and computer simulation results have proved the effectiveness of the control strategies. (5 pages)

Abstract:With the increasing voltage classes of electric system, voltage stabling issue brings more and more severe constrains to the entire electric system. A throughout analysis of features and mechanism of voltage instability in electric system has guiding significance in assuring stability of the power grid. Taking the voltage of one node as an example, using functions to calculate the functional formula of the node's reactive power and voltage, can lead to the conclusion that by increasing reactive power compensation can not only increase the stability margin of supply voltage of this node, but also its neighboring nodes. This article summarizes several common effective measures of voltage instability, wish to provide references for electrical research and work.
