Abstract:The M-matrix is an important concept in matrix theory, and has many applications. Recently, this concept has been extended to higher order tensors [18]. In this paper, we establish some important properties of M-tensors and nonsingular M-tensors. An M-tensor is a Z-tensor. We show that a Z-tensor is a nonsingular M-tensor if and only if it is semi-positive. Thus, a nonsingular M-tensor has all positive diagonal entries; an M-tensor, regarding as the limit of a sequence of nonsingular M-tensors, has all nonnegative diagonal entries. We introduce even-order monotone tensors and present their spectral properties. In matrix theory, a Z-matrix is a nonsingular M-matrix if and only if it is monotone. This is no longer true in the case of higher order tensors. We show that an even-order monotone Z-tensor is an even-order nonsingular M-tensor, but not vice versa. An example of an even-order nontrivial monotone Z-tensor is also given.

Abstract:The nonsingular H-matrices play an important role in the study of the matrix theory and the iterative method of systems of linear equations, etc. It has always been searched how to verify nonsingular H-matrices. In this paper, nonsingular H-matrices is studies by applying diagonally dominant matrices, irreducible diagonally dominant matrices and comparison matrices and several practical criteria for identifying nonsingular H-matrices are obtained.

Abstract:This paper establishes a new entrywise relative perturbation result for the inverse of a nonsingular M-matrix A. It is shown that a version of Gaussian elimination with one step of iterative refinement solves the system Ax =b, where b is nonnegative, with small entrywise relative error. Abstract:In this paper, some new properties of tridiagonally dominant and positive Inverse M-matrices are presented, respectively. Based on these properties, sufficient and necessary conditions of reducible inverse M-matrices and general inverse M-matrices are derived; Finally, a class of inverse M-matrices that is closed under the Hadamard multiplication is also obtained.

Abstract:Based on the result of L.Yu. Kolotilina [Linear Algebra Appl., 359 (2003), pp. 133-159], several sufficient and necessary conditions on nonsingularity (or singularity is called) of nonstrictly generalized diagonally dominant matrix, which are described in term of principal submatrix, are presented. Further, a new criterion for M-matrices (H-matrices) is proposed by applying these conditions to nonstrictly generalized diagonally dominant matrices.

Abstract:The H-matrices are an important class in the matrix theory, and have many applications. Recently, this concept has been extended to higher order ?-tensors. In this paper, we establish important properties of diagonally dominant tensors and ?-tensors. Distributions of eigenvalues of nonsingular symmetric ?-tensors are given. An ?+-tensor is semi-positive, which enlarges the area of semi-positive tensor from ?-tensor to ?+-tensor. The spectral radius of Jacobi tensor of a nonsingular (resp. singular) ?-tensor is less than (resp. equal to) one. In particular, we show that a quasi-diagonally dominant tensor is a nonsingular ?-tensor if and only if all of its principal sub-tensors are nonsingular ?-tensors. An irreducible tensor Ais an ?-tensor if and only if it is quasi-diagonally dominant.

Abstract:Study on the number of nonsingular circulant matrices over finite fields is significant in both maticx theory and practice.We characterize the properties of circulant matrices over finite fields and find two different ways to solve the problem.Finally,we give the formula to figure out the number of the nonsingular circulant matrices over finite fields in all circumstances and analyze some applications of circulant matrices in MPKC.

Abstract:Let \(\mathbf R \) be an associative ring with \(1\), \(m\), \(n\) be positive integers. Denote by \(M_{mn}(\mathbf R )\) the set of all the \(m\times {n}\) matrices over \(\mathbf R \). In this paper, the sufficient and necessary conditions and some sufficient conditions of the group invertibility of \(AB\) and \(BA\) are given, where \(A\in {M_{mn}(\mathbf R )}\) and \(B\in {M_{nm}(\mathbf R )}\).
