Abstract:This paper presents the test of an AM stereo system which employs the SSB technology. The performance of a 100 kHz closed circuit test of the SSB stereo coder and decoder is presented. The test of compatibility for a conventional AM receiver was also engaged.

Abstract:In view of the complex underwater acoustic channel in underwater acoustic communication system ,the paper proposed a new synchronized method to against extended frequency. The method makes full use of HFM (Hyperbolic Frequency Modulation, HFM) and doppler tolerance characteristics and constructs a special combination of HFM signals, so as to achieve rapid and precise time synchronization. Based on the sea channel data analysis, this method which compared with the traditional synchronization methods has a lower synchronous error and lower computational complexity and faster synchronous rate. The experimental results based on DSPs demonstrate the reliability and effectiveness.
Intellectualized and Integrated Testing System Exploration of FM Broadcasting Transmitter

Abstract:In this paper an intellectualized and integrated testing system of FM broadcast is devised and exploited to satisfy with the requirement of digital video broadcast development.Using high speed DSP processing system,it realizes automatic testing of eleven running technology indexes according to different configuration of system,such as the frequency response of broadcast transmitter,distortion degree,SNR,and so on.the real testing results show that the technology indexes of the system achieve domestic one-up level.What′s more,the repeating quality and reliability is favorable.

Abstract:There is a worldwide impact to the TV broadcasting and consumer electronics industries starting from the decision of the FCC, of which the transition period of SDTV to digital will be completed in the year of 2006. The digital television era seems to be arriving earlier than that has ever been expected. How to face the challenge of this new era is a serious concern of the industries at present. The VSB transmission system is accepted for terrestrial broadcasting of DTV in the US. As a counterpart, the COFDM system is accepted for DVB. It is natural of interested to investigate these two transmission schemes and compare the performance and the methods of implementation. The simulation results of their performance are presented and a comparison of the hardware implementations is included

Abstract:The implementation method of the receiver carrier recovery loop of microsatellite affects the volume,weight and function reconfigurability of the transponder.Based on analysis of the traditional carrier recovery loop,using I/Q sub-sampling technique,this work presented a receiver architecture based on all digital carrier recovery loop using coordinate rotation digital computer(CORDIC) algorithm.This method omits four computationally intensive multipliers of complex mixer and the large lookup table used by direct digital frequency synthesis.The solution is verified by the system simulation using Matlab and a hardware description language simulation using ModelSim.Furthermore,the very high speed integrated circuit hardware description language(VHDL) code of the carrier recovery loop was synthesized on a specific field programmable gate array(FPGA).The result showed that this circuit only needed 3.6% of the logic resource and achieved the maximum frequency of 226 MHz.The methodology can be applied to the design of other reconfigurable receivers.

Abstract:This paper describes the realization of the VSB modulation subsystem of the VSB-based HDTV terrestrial broadcasting system, which is part of China's HDTV development project. It gives an overview of the system requirements, as well as some basic considerations of the hardware implementation. Algorithms, and architectures of the main modules, such as the modulator, the carrier phase tracking loop, and the timing recovery loop, are presented, and the implementation results and features are also described.

Abstract:Spatial field digital modulation (SFDM) is a newly proposed technique, which directly modulates information in the spatial distribution of the electromagnetic (EM) field. In this letter, we propose an orbital angular momentum (OAM) based SFDM system. Furthermore, a demodulation method called the spatial matched filtering criterion is developed. The introduction of the spatial matched filter simplifies the architecture of the receiver and makes the practical system implement more viable. An experimental testbed is then built to measure the state isolation and the corresponding bit error rate (BER) performance of the OAM-SFDM system. We realize the SFDM signal transmission at a communication distance of 1.5 m with a practical analog-demodulation OAM-SFDM system. The results of the numerical simulations and the experimental measurements both verify the validity of this demodulation method. Moreover, it has been confirmed that the predictable phase information brought about by OAM waves plays a prominent role in the demodulation process.

Abstract:This paper analyzes the design and implementation of the software defined radio （SDR） system based on the software communication architecture （SCA） whose background was first introduced. The schemes were then given based on the SCA standards for the implementation of the hardware platform, software platform, modem hardware abstraction layer （MHAL） and waveform software. Tests were made to investigate the system real-tlme performance. The results show that the SCA-compliant SDR has favorable interoperability and software portability and can basically satisfy the requirements of real-time performance which is still a bottleneck of the system performance.

Abstract:This study included the transmission and reception of FM signals using the Softrock Ensemble RXTX SDR transceiver and the Frequency Shıft Keyıng (FSK). FM signals are generated and plotted using MATLABalong with two input frequencies and a modulation index as inputs for the developed system, the DSB-SC modulated signals as well as DSB-WC signals are generated by multiplying the message with a carrier, while the SSB ones are generated by filtering out the lower sidebands of the DSB-SC modulated signal. Besides, the frequency modulation scheme in which digital information is transmitted through discrete frequency changes of a carrier wave. Advanced modulation and demodulation are fundamental procedures by computerized images that change into waveforms that are perfect with the qualities of a transmission channel; QPSK allows the signal to carry twice as much information as ordinary PSK using the same bandwidth.

Abstract:A receiver for SRDs implemented by the 0.35 mu m CMOS process is presented. The receiver, together with the ADC, power amplifier (PA), frequency synthesizer and digital baseband has been integrated into a single chip solution. Low cost and low power requirements are met by optimizing the receiver architecture and circuit topology. A simple mixed-signal mode I/Q imbalance calibration circuit is proposed to enhance the IRR (image rejection ratio) so as to raise the BER. From a single 3 V power supply, the receiver consumes 5.9 mA. The measurement result shows that the receiver achieves reference sensitivity of -60 dBm and a control gain of 60 dB. The S-11 reaches -20 dB at 433 MHz and -10 dB at 868 MHz without off-chip impedance match network. The die area is only 2 mm(2) including the bias circuit.
Two-way Precision Time Synchronization System Via a Satellite Voice Channel.

Abstract:A newly developed two-way time synchronization system is described in this paper. The system uses one voice channel at a SCPC satellite digital communication earth station, whose bandwidth is only 45 kHz, thus saving satellite resources greatly. The system is composed of one master station and one or several, up to sixty-two, secondary stations. The master and secondary stations are equipped with the same equipment, including a set of timing equipment, a synthetic data terminal for time synchronizing, and a interface unit between the data terminal and the satellite earth station. The synthetic data terminal for time synchronization also has an IRIG-B code generator and a translator. The data terminal of master station is the key part of whole system. The system synchronization process is full automatic, which is controlled by the master station. Employing an autoscanning technique and conversational mode, the system accomplishes the following tasks: linking up liaison with each secondary station in turn, establishing a coarse time synchronization, calibrating date (years, months, days) and time of day (hours, minutes, seconds), precisely measuring the time difference between local station and the opposite station, exchanging measurement data, statistically processing the data, rejecting error terms, printing the data, calculating the clock difference and correcting the phase, thus realizing real-time synchronization from one point to multiple points. We also designed an adaptive phase circuit to eliminate the phase ambiguity of the PSK demodulator. The experiments have shown that the time synchronization accuracy is better than 2 mu S. The system has been put into regular operation.

Abstract:HF communication is widely used in radio broadcast, military, emergency relief and many other applications due to its flexibility, mobility, low cost of equipment, and low dependence on infrastructure. Meanwhile, it has a severe shortage that its communication channel is very unstable, which brings much noise into the transmitted speech. In this paper, an automatic switching system is proposed to enhance the shortwave speech signals, which includes an objective quality evaluation algorithm for low SNR speech, a multi-channel speech alignment algorithm, and multi-channel automatic switching strategies. This system does not only apply to the multi-channel switching of shortwave channel speeches, but can also contribute to that of other low SNR speeches. In order to verify the effectiveness of the system, we conduct two sets of experiments. The experiment results show that the proposed system can effectively enhance shortwave speech signals as expected.

Abstract:For designing and building Chinese Spectral Radioheliograph(CSRH),we have carried out a two-element interferometer experiment.In the test,a prototype digital correlation receiver has been designed for the signal processing below the 200 MHz intermediate frequency.In this paper,we describe the design of the digital receiver,which includes high-speed ADC,band-pass filters,mixer,delay line and one-bit correlator.Finally,a simulation of signal processing of the digital correlation receiver is given.
An Audio Covert Communication System for Anolog Channels

Abstract:This paper designs an audio covert communication system based on spread spectrum (SS) data hiding technology. Considering the characteristics of covert communication, some methods were proposed to solve the key problems in the system. Firstly, the system employed M-ary SS coding combining with return-to-zero base band code to embed hiding data. In addition, the sender embedded the base band clock in audio signal for synchronization. Furthermore, Reed Solomon (RS) channel coding was applied in the system for error correction. This system was tested through an audio line and a FM audio broadcast platform as communication channels. Experiment results showed that the data error rates were 0.024% via audio line and 0.288% via FM audio when the hiding data rate was 7.8 bytes/s.

Abstract:An algorithm to uniquely identify AM broadcasting signal was proposed. By analyzing the AM signal's characteristic,the algorithm defined two main parameters:one was the correlation of spectrum of upper and lower bands and the other was the correlation of signal spec-trum and envelop spectrum. Two voiee detection related parameters were also be defined to assist the algorithm. The results of HF standard channel model based simulation show that the two parameters were robust to noise and ehannel interference. This algorithm can work effective-ly under the real circumstance.

Abstract:We have developed a 3x3 multi-beam receiver for Delingha millimeter telescope, the major open facility for millimeter-wave radio observation in China. The receiver has been successfully put into observation since the end of 2010 and its considerable enhancement of mapping speed has been proved. The receiver employs 2SB SIS mixers with a typical SSB noise temperature 50K and sideband separation ratio over 10dB in the 85- 116GHz frequency range. The SIS mixers have a nearly 50 Ohm output impedance enabling direct connection of the cryogenic low noise amplifier without IF isolator. The nine pixels are pumped by a single LO source distributed by a 2-stage cascaded power dividers realized by 6-branch line directional couplers. The LO is generated by a frequency synthesizer followed by an amplifier-multiplier module providing output power over 10mW across the RF band. The IF band is centered at 2.64GHz with bandwidth 1GHz allowing simultaneously observing three CO lines (C18O, 13CO and 12CO). The nine pixels yield 18 independent IF outputs. Each of them is processed by a digital FFT spectrometer with 200MHz-1GHz reconfigurable bandwidth and 16384 channels. In this symposium the design and the performance of this 2SB multi-beam receiver will be presented in detail.

Abstract:Cdma2000 is an international standard of the third generation wireless communication system, which is still widely used today. In our project, we attempt to apply this standard in spatial modulated full duplex (SMFD) system, which aims to test a novel self-interference (SI) cancellation method in digital domain. The SMFD system and the proposed SI cancellation scheme are both introduced in great detail and the simulations in physical layer which follow the standard of cdma2000 reveals the advantages.

Abstract:We have developed a 3 x 3 multibeam sideband separation superconducting receiver-Superconducting Spectroscopic Array Receiver (SSAR)-for the 85-115 GHz frequency band. The receiver employs 2SB superconductor-insulator-superconductor (SIS) mixers with a typical single sideband (SSB) noise temperature of 60 K and image rejection ratio above 10 dB over the frequency band. Digital techniques are extensively applied in this receiver system for excellent operational stability and efficiency. They include fast Fourier spectrometers, digital LO and digital bias supplies. In our knowledge this is the first 2SB multibeam millimeter wavelength receiver in the world. This receiver has been successfully put into observation and its considerable enhancement of mapping speed has been demonstrated.
