Abstract:The problem of guaranteed cost control for a class of linear discrete uncertain system is considered in this paper. The system under consideration contains convex polyhedral uncertain parameters. An upper bound of performance measured by standard quadratic function is constructed and a method of designing state feedback robust stabilizing control law guaranteeing this quadratic performance index of system be less than this upper bound is derived. It is proved that whether such a control law exists is equivalent to the feasibility of a group of linear matrix inequality Also, a procedure is given to select an optimal state feedback controller in the sense of minimizing the upper bound of quadratic performance index.

Abstract:Aimed at a kind of uncertain switched system, the keeping-cost control of the state feedback was defined; using the common Lyapunov function method several sufficient conditions of existence the quadratic stable guaranteed cost control law of the uncertain switched system were derived. The sufficient conditions were equivalently expressed as the solvability of the linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), and the controller were parameterized when the LMIs had a possible solution. The sufficient condition of existence of the optimal guaranteed cost control law is given. The numerical simulation results show the effective of the conclusion.

Abstract:The non-fragile guaranteed controller design problem for an interval system and a given cost function is discussed. A sufficient condition is established such that the closed-loop system stability and cost function is guaranteed to be no more than a certain upper bound with all admissible uncertainties as well as a controller gain perturbation uncertainty. A modified interval system described by matrix factorization will lead to less conservative conclusions. An effective linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach is developed to solve the addressed problem. Furthermore, a convex optimization problem is formulated to design the optimal non-fragile guaranteed cost controller which minimizes the upper bound of the closed-loop system cost. The effectiveness of this approach has been verified on a missile launched underwater attitude control system design. Simulation results on a real example are presented to validate the proposed design approach.

Abstract:The guaranteed cost control problem was studied regarding a class of uncertain singular time-delay systems with nonlinear perturbation.Based on the Lyapunov stability theory and the linear matrix inequality approach,the sufficient condition and conformation approach of the guaranteed cost controller was given,which could make the closed-loop systems quadratic stable for all admissible uncertainties,as well as guarantying the cost was bounded in a limitation.Finally,an example's result showed the efficiency of this method.

Abstract:This paper studies the reliable guaranteed cost control of singularly perturbed systems with parameter uncertainties. To avoid the stiffness and for the sake of parallel computation, the full-order algebraic Riccati equation is decomposed into two reduced-order pure slow and pure fast algebraic Riccati equations. The designed control laws guarantee the robust stability and known quadratic performance bounds of the closed-loop systems despite any actuator failures within a selected subset of actuators. Examples are given to demonstrate the design algorithms addressed in this paper.

Abstract:For a class of continuous-time switched linear systems with norm-bounded time-varying uncertainty and a quadratic cost index, the problem of designing guaranteed cost state feedback controllers was investigated. Using multiple Lyapunov functions technique, the sufficient condition for existence of such controllers is derived. The parameterized representation of the guaranteed cost controllers is given and the corresponding switching strategy is constructed. If some parameters are selected in advance, the condition can be converted to solvability problem of a set of certain linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Furthermore, the design problem of the optimal guaranteed cost controller is formulated as a convex optimization problem, which can be solved by the existing efficient convex optimization techniques. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.

Abstract:This paper focuses on the problem of guaranteed cost and positive real control for a class of linear systems which are subjected to mixed structured bounded uncertainty and unbounded unknown nonlinearities in the state equation. Sufficient conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) and linear matrix equalities (LMEs) are presented for the existence of a static output feedback controller, that makes the resulting closed-loop system quadratically strict positive real and minimizes the upper bound for a given cost function. Abstract:The guaranteed cost control problem for a class of linear uncertain discrete-time impulsive systems is considered. The parametric uncertainties are assumed to be time-varying and norm-bounded. The problem is to design a robust state feedback controller such that the resulting closed-loop system is robustly exponentially stable, and the closed-loop value of a specified quadratic cost function is not more than a certain upper bound for all admissible uncertainties and for all admissible impulse time sequences. A sufficient condition for the existence of guaranteed cost state feedback controllers is derived via a time-varying Lyapunov function approach. This condition is expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Furthermore, the problem of selecting a suboptimal guaranteed cost controller is formulated as a convex optimization problem. An example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.

Abstract:For an uncertain linear switched generalized system, we investigate the systems' stability by the Lyapunov stability theory and design the state feedback guaranteed cost controller under arbitrary switching laws. At the same time, we also give the upper bound of the performance index of the closed-loop system. Further we transform the guaranteed cost controllers' design problem into a set of linear matrix inequalities' solvability problem. Finally, we give an example to show our method is effective and feasible.

Abstract:Design of state-feedback guaranteed cost controllers is considered for a class of norm bounded uncertain singular systems and a time-multiplied linear quadratic cost function.Such a cost function enables the state res-ponses to approach zero more quickly,and shortens stabilizing time of the systems.The sufficient and necessary condition and the optimal design method of guaranteed cost controllers based on bilinear matrix inequalities(BMIs),quadratic matrix inequalities(QMIs) and LMI are obtained.The numerical example shows the validity of our conclusion via the softwares of SDP and BMI.

Abstract:A sufficient condition for the uniformly asymptotically stability of linear time-varying impulsive systems is obtained based on the recent stability results of impulsive systems.Moreover,the guaranteed-cost-control problem via state feedback controller is studied for a class of impulsive systems with parametric uncertainties.A sufficient condition for the existence of this guaranteed-cost state feedback controller is then presented in terms of the Lyapunov stability theory and robust control principles.Furthermore,it is shown that this condition is equivalent to the solvability problem of a system of linear matrix inequalities according to some existing conclusions on the norm-bounded time-varying parameter uncertainty. Finally,a numerical example is given to support the main results of this paper.

Abstract:This paper deals with the problem of robust guaranteed cost reliable control for a class of uncertain discrete-time linear systems with actuator failures. The parameter uncertainty in the state matrix is assumed to be time-unvarying norm-bounded. The purpose is to design a state feedback controller such that, for all admissible uncertainties as well as actuator failures occurring among the prespecified subset of actuators, the plant remains stable and guarantees an adequate level of a quadratic cost index. A sufficient condition for the existence of guaranteed cost reliable controller is derived. Furthermore, it is showed that a group of linear matrix inequalities provide a parameterized representation of guaranteed cost reliable controllers. Based on that, the design problem of the optimal guaranteed cost reliable controller is formulated as a convex optimization problem, which can be solved by the existing convex optimization techniques. Finally an example is given illustrating the proposed results.
