Abstract:Studies the optimal guaranteed control problem for a class of linear uncertain time-delay systems. The systems under consideration are described by state differential equations with time-varying unknown but norm-bounded uncertain parameters and time-varying unknown but bounded delay in states. An upper bound of the performance measured by standard quadratic function is constructed and based on the delay-dependent stabilizing approach, a method of designing a state feedback robust quadratic stabilizing control law guaranteeing this quadratic performance index be less than the constructed upper bound is derived. A procedure is given to select an optimal state feedback controller in the sense of minimizing this upper bound of the quadratic performance index. The results depend on the size of delay and are given in terms of several linear matrix inequalities

Abstract:The problem of robust stabilization with definite attenuance for a class of linear uncertain time-delay systems is considered. The systems under consideration include time-varying unknown-but-bounded uncertain parameters and time-delay in state. A criterion of robust stability with definite attenuance and the method of designing a state feedback controller guaranteeing the system robust stable with definite attenuance are derived. The results depend on the size of delay and are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities.

Abstract:This paper deals with the problem of stabilizing a class of uncertain time-delay systems via memoryless linear state feedback control law. The systems under consideration are linear systems with time-varying state and control delays, they also contain time-varying unknown-but-bounded uncertain parameters. A sufficient condition for the stabilizability of the system is derived. It is shown that the solvability of a parametrized algebraic Riccati equation can be used to determine whether the uncertain time-delay system satisfies the sufficient condition. Furthermore, if there exists a positive definite symmetric solution to the Riccati equation, a suitable stabilizing control law can be constructed.

Abstract:A kind of guaranteed cost controller is proposed for polytopic uncertain linear discrete-time systems with state delay. In the presence of plant uncertainties and external disturbance, the controller guarantees the robust stability of the closed-loop system and satisfies H ∞ disturbance attenuation level. Based on Lyapunov functional technique, the synthesis of controller via a memoryless state feedback can be transformed to a linear matrix inequality (LMI) feasibility problem. A numerical example illustrates that the design of the controller is a tradeoff between optimal guaranteed cost upper bound and disturbance attenuation level.

Abstract:This paper mainly studies the delay-dependent memoryless robust stabilization problem for a class of uncertain linear dynamic systems with time-varying time-delays in both state and control. Abstract:This paper is concerned with the problem of robust generalized guaranteed cost control with D-stability and multiple output constraints for a class of linear uncertain systems. Being a combination of output performance indices, a generalized cost function is considered to the linear polytopic uncertain systems described in a unified framework. The aim is to design a state feedback controller, such that the closed-loop system is robust D-stable, and the upper bound of the generalized cost function is as small as possible subject to multiple output constraints. Based on parameter-dependent Lyapunov functions, convex conditions for the existence of such controllers are presented in terms of linear matrix inequality. The proposed approach shows a unified treatment of the linear systems in the differential, shift, and delta domains. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the design method.

Abstract:For the uncertain impulsive hybrid dynamic systems (IHDSs) and the hybrid cost functions,the synthesis method of the guaranteed cost control laws via hybrid state feedback is developed.By the obtained control law,the perturbed IHDS can be asymptotically stabilized and the closed-loop hybrid cost is not greater than a specified upper limit for all admissible uncertainties.The control law considered here consists of the discrete event dynamics as well as the continuous time dynamics.The discrete event dynamics of the control law doesnot need to coincide exactly with the controlled hybrid system,so that the continuous time subsystems of the controlled hybrid system are not required to be controllable.The simulation result shows the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

The uncertainty is assumed to be norm-bounded, and the attention is focused on the design of memoryless state feedback controllers such that the resulting closed-loop system is not only asymptotically stable but also guarantees an adequate level of performance. By using the Riccati equation approach, a sufficient condition for the system to be stabilization is obtained. Abstract:This paper focuses on the problem of robust reliable H∞ control for linear systems with delayed state and time-varying norm-bounded parameter uncertainties in the state matrix by state feedback. The resulting control systems are reliable in that they provide guaranteed stability and H∞ performance for all possible actuator failures within a prespecified subset of actuators as well as all admissible uncertainties. The feedback controller can be obtained by solving a linear matrix inequality (LMI).

Abstract:Network-induced delays in the networked control system are inevitable and have a significant effect on system performance. In this paper, time-varying delays are regarded as the sum of the mean delays and uncertain delays. Furthermore, NCS is modeled as a discrete-time model with structural uncertainty for its time-varying network-induced delays. Based on the model, a guaranteed cost control law is presented which can stabilize the closed loop system and guarantees an adequate level of quality of performance. Theoretical analyses and simulation results compared to standard discrete linear quadratic regulator designed for discrete-time systems show that the control strategy presented in this paper is effective and feasible.

Abstract:For a class of discrete-time linear switched systems with norm-bounded time-varying uncertainty, the problem of designing guaranteed, cost state feedback controllers is investigated. The necessary and sufficient condition for existence of such controllers under arbitrary switching sequences is derived using common Lyapunov function technique. Furthermore, it is shown that this condition is equivalent to the solvability problem of a set of certain linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which can be solved by the existing efficient convex 'optimization techniques. The solutions of the LMIs provide a parameterized representation of all guaranteed cost controllers. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.

Abstract:This article is concerned with the guaranteed cost control problem for a class of fractional‐order (FO) uncertain delayed linear systems with norm‐bounded time‐varying parametric uncertainty. Based on whether the states are available or not, guaranteed‐cost state‐based feedback stabilization and guaranteed‐cost observer‐based feedback stabilization for such system are addressed, respectively. By employing the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach and FO Razumikhin theorem, two delay‐independent guaranteed cost controller design methods and their guaranteed costs are first formulated, respectively, in which sufficient conditions of the state feedback and observer gains are presented in form of LMI. Two numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the theoretical formulation.

Abstract:In this paper, the random time-delays and packet losses issues of networked control systems (NCS) within the framework of guaranteed cost control for Markovian jump linear systems (MJLSs) axe addressed. A new delay-dependent sufficient condition for the existence of guaranteed cost controller and an upper bound of the cost function are presented by a new stochastic Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional. The state feedback problem for such system is formulated as a convex optimization over a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which can be very efficiently solved by interior-point methods. As examples to verify the proposed method, two plants in the networked setup are considered. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.

Abstract:The guaranteed cost control problem is studied in this paper for a class of uncertain linear discrete-time systems with both state and input delays and a given quadratic cost function. The uncertainty in the system is assumed to be norm-bounded and time-varying. The problem is to design a memoryless state feedback control law such that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable and the closed-loop cost function value is not more than a specified upper bound for all admissible uncertainties. Sufficient conditions for the existence of such controllers are derived based on the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, a parametrized characterization of the guaranteed cost controllers (if they exist) is given in terms of the feasible solutions to a certain LMI. Abstract:A guaranteed cost controller is designed with a cost function upper bound. At the same time, three corollaries are presented for the special circumstance without impulse, distributed time delays or time‐varying time delay, respectively. Finally, the feasibility of the theoretical results is verified by examples. This article mainly addresses the guaranteed cost control (GCC) problem for a class of impulsive nonlinear stochastic systems with mixed time delays, where both distributed time delay as well as discrete time delay are considered. Utilizing the Hamilton–Jacobi inequalities technique, Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional (LKF) and stochastic control theory, a new delay‐dependent sufficient condition is acquired to ensure the asymptotic stability in probability (ASP) of the closed‐loop system (CLS). Moreover, the guaranteed cost controller is designed and the upper bound of cost function is given. At the same time, three corollaries are presented for the special circumstance without impulse, distributed time delays or time‐varying time delay, respectively. Finally, the feasibility of the theoretical results is verified by an example.
