Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of preventive nursing intervention on postpartum hemorrhage in pregnant women with vaginal delivery. Methods A total of 1 621 vaginal delivery women in our hospital from January 2011 to December 2011 were treated with preventive nursing intervention to prevent postpartum hemorrhage (the study group), and 1 874 vaginal delivery women received routine nursing intervention (the control group). The postpartum hemorrhage was compared between the two groups. Results In the study group, 24 (1.48%) patients had postpartum hemorrhage. The amount of bleeding in the third stage of pregnancy was (211.3±57.6) ml, the amount of bleeding of postpartum 2 h was (87.34±16.38) ml, and that of postpartum 24 h was (149.61±23.52) ml. In the control group, 52 (2.77%) patients had postpartum hemorrhage. The amount of bleeding of the third stage of pregnancy was (272.8 ± 60.9) ml, the amount of bleeding of postpartum 2 h was (146.96±25.13) ml, and that of postpartum 24 h was (248.28 ± 36.49) ml. The postpartum hemorrhage of the study group was significantly lower than that of the controlgroup (P<0.01). Conclusion Preventive nursing intervention has evident effect on reducing postpartum hemorrhage, which is worthy of promotion and application in clinical practice.
