Abstract:Crystals of the title compound, C(13)H(10)N(4)O(4), were obtained from a condensation reaction of benzaldehyde and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. The molecule assumes an approximately planar E configuration. Within the dinitrophenyl moiety, the average distance for the aromatic C-C bonds close to the imino group [1.417 (3) A] is appreciably longer than the average distance for the other aromatic C-C bonds in the same phenyl ring [1.373 (3) A]. This increased distance may be a result of the overlap of the non-bonding orbital of the imino N atom with the pi orbitals of the arene. It is likely that pi-pi stacking exists in the crystal structure.

Abstract:Crystals of the title compound, C15H13ClN4O6, were obtained from a condensation reaction of 2-chloro-3,4-dimethoxybenzaldehyde and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. Within the dinitrophenyl group, the distances of 1.413 (3) and 1.405 (3) Angstrom for the C-C bonds close to the imino group are appreciably longer than the average distance of 1.372 (4) Angstrom for other aromatic C-C bonds in the same benzene ring. The benzene rings in the molecule are nearly coplanar, and the overlapped arrangement of benzene rings of neighboring molecules shows the existence of a pi-pi stacking interaction.

Abstract:Crystals of the title compound, C16H14N4O4, were obtained from a condensation reaction of benzylideneacetone and 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine. The molecule has a nearly planar structure with a dihedral angle of 7.57 (4)degrees between the dinitrophenyl and benzylidene mean planes. Within the dinitrophenyl moiety, the distances of 1.420 (2) and 1.411 (3) Angstrom for the C - C bonds near the imine group are longer than the average distance of 1.374 (3) Angstrom for the other C-C bonds in the same benzene ring. The short N-C distance of 1.338 (2) Angstrom indicates electron delocalization between the imine group and dinitrophenyl ring.

Abstract:The highly conjugated title compound, C23H25Cl2N3, is nearly planar (the mean deviation from the plane being 0.049 angstrom), except for the -C(CH3)(2) group on the cyclohexene ring and the two CH2Cl groups. The cyclohexene ring has an envelope configuration. In the crystal, the packing is stabilized by C-H center dot center dot center dot Cl interactions and C-H center dot center dot center dot pi interactions involving the benzene ring.

Abstract:The title compound, C25H18N4, crystallizes in the centrosymmetric ortho-rhom-bic space group Pbca, with eight mol-ecules in the unit cell. The main feature noticeable in the structure is the impact of the tri-cyano-vinyl (TCV) group in forcing partial planarity of the portion of the mol-ecule carrying the TCV group and directing the mol-ecular packing in the solid state, resulting in the formation of π-stacks of dimers within the unit cell. Short π-π stack closest atom-to-atom distances of 3.444 (15) Å are observed. Such motif patterns are favorable as they are thought to be conducive for better charge transport in organic semiconductors, which results in enhanced device performance. Intra-molecular charge transfer is evident from the shortening in the observed experimental bond lengths. The nitro-gen atoms (of the cyano groups) are involved in extensive short contacts, primarily through C-H⋯NC inter-actions with distances of 2.637 (17) Å.

Abstract:In the title compound, NCCH(2)C(6)H(4)CH(2)CN, the bond lengths and angles are within normal ranges. The benzene ring makes dihedral angles of 4.94 (8) and 77.04 (8)° with the C-C-C-N mean planes. Weak non-conventional C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds are effective in the stabilization of the crystal structure. The weak C-H⋯N contacts form anti-parallel chains running in the a + c direction, and ring systems with two N-atom acceptors and four H-atom donors.

Abstract:The crystal and molecular structure of diethyl 1-(6-methyl-2-benzothiazoleamino)-2,4-dichlorophenylmethylphosphonate has been determined by X-ray diffraction method. The crystal (C19H21Cl2N2O3PS) is monoclinic with space group p2(1)/c, a=8.318(2), b=18.202(4), c=14.673(3) Angstrom, beta=92.51(3)degrees, mu=0.4749 mm(-1), Z=4; D-x=1.375 g/cm(3), F(000)=952, V=2219(1) Angstrom(3), final R=0.059 and R-w=0.060 for 2038 observed reflections with I greater than or equal to 3 sigma(I). The X-ray analysis result shows that the magnetic nonequivalence of the two ethoxy groups of the title compound is caused by the shielding effect of the benzene ring in alpha-position.

Abstract:The title compound, C(15)H(14)N(2)O(4), is approximately planar, with a dihedral angle of 6.48 (4)degrees between the aminomethylene unit and the planar five-atom part of the dioxane ring, and a dihedral angle of 2.40 (4)degrees between aminomethylene unit and the phenylene ring.
