Abstract:If the matrix measure of connection weight of Hopfield-type continuous feedback neural network is less than the reciprocal of maximal product of resistance and gain constants, then the network system is globally and exponentially stable. The above reciprocal is a sharp upper bound of matrix measure of connection weight which guarantees that the above conclusion holds. The above result answers partially the open problem proposed by Vidyasagar recently, i.e. whether neural network with ''nearly'' symmetric connection weight can exhibit limit cycles. The relation between the network time constant and the global exponential convergence rate is pointed out, and application to optimization computation of our results is also given.

Abstract:A model of Hopfield neural networks (HNN) with continuously distributed delays is considered. A sufficient condition which guarantees global exponential stability (GES) of an equilibrium point is given based on the method of variation parameter and inequality technique. Compared with the previous methods, our method does not resorting to any Lyapunov functionals.

Abstract:In this paper, by utilizing the Lyapunov functional method and combining with the linear matrix inequality approach, we analyze the global asymptotic stability of delayed Hopfield neural networks (HNNs). A new sufficient condition ensuring the global stability of the unique equilibrium point of delayed HNNs is obtained, which is dependent on the size of delays. This condition is less restrictive and conservative than that given in the earlier references. In addition, an example is also provided to illustrate the applicability of the result.

Abstract:The Hopfield network has been applied to solve optimization problems over decades. However, it still has many limitations in accomplishing this task. Most of them are inherited from the optimization algorithms it implements. The computation of a Hopfield network, defined by a set of difference equations, can easily be trapped into one local optimum or another, sensitive to initial conditions, perturbations, and neuron update orders. It doesn't know how long it will take to converge, as well as if the final solution is a global optimum, or not. In this paper, we present a Hopfield network with a new set of difference equations to fix those problems. The difference equations directly implement a new powerful optimization algorithm.

Abstract:Without assuming the boundedness, strict monotonicity and differentiability of the activation functions, the authors utilize the Lyapunov functional method to analyze the global convergence of some delayed models. For the Hopfield neural network with time delays, a new sufficient condition ensuring the existence, uniqueness and global exponential stability of the equilibrium point is derived. This criterion concerning the signs of entries in the connection matrix imposes constraints on the feedback matrix independently of the delay paxameters. From a new viewpoint, the bidirectional associative memory neural network with time delays is investigated and a new global exponential stability result is given.

Abstract:The global asymptotic stability of Hopfield neural networks with transmission delays is considered in this Letter. We present a new sufficient condition for the asymptotic stability. This condition is dependent on the size of delays. The result is less conservative than those established in the earlier references. A numerical example is given to illustrate the applicability of this condition.

Abstract:In this paper, a class of neutral high-order stochastic Hopfield neural networks with Markovian jump parameters and mixed time delays is investigated. The jumping parameters are modeled as a continuous-time finite-state Markov chain. At first, the existence of equilibrium point for the addressed neural networks is studied. By utilizing the Lyapunov stability theory, stochastic analysis theory and linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique, new delay-dependent stability criteria are presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities to guarantee the neural networks to be globally exponentially stable in the mean square. Numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the main results.

Abstract:The stability of discrete Hopfield neural networks with delay is mainly studied by the use of the state transition equation and the energy function, and some results on the stability are given. The sufficient conditions for the networks with delay converging towards a limit cycle with length 4 are presented. Also, one condition ensuring the network with delay having neither a stable state nor a limit cycle with length 2 is given. The obtained results here partially extend some existing results on stability of discrete Hopfield neural network with delay and without delay.

Abstract:The paper is devoted to periodic attractor of delayed Hopfield neural networks with time-varying. By constructing Lyapunov functionals and using inequality techniques, some new suffcient criteria are obtained to guarantee the existence and global exponential stability of periodic attractor. Our results improve and extend some existing ones in [13～14]. One example is also worked out to demonstrate the advantages of our results.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss dynamical behaviors of recurrently asymmetrically connected neural networks in detail. We propose an effective approach to study global and local stability of the networks. Many of well known existing results are unified in our framework, which gives much better test conditions for global and local stability. Its connection matrix is constructed with regard to the Hebb rule from a highly symmetric set of the memorized patterns. Abstract:In this paper, we investigate dynamics of 2N almost periodic attractors for cellular neural networks (CNNs) with variable and distributed delays. By imposing some new assumptions on activation functions and system parameters, we split invariant basin of CNNs into 2N compact convex subsets. Then the existence of 2N almost periodic solutions lying in compact convex subsets is attained due to employment of the theory of exponential dichotomy and Schauder's fixed point theorem. Meanwhile, we derive some new criteria for the networks to converge toward these 2N almost periodic solutions and exponential attracting domains are also given correspondingly. The obtained results are new and can be applied to a large class of neural networks.
