Correlation of hyperuricemia in different age, gender patients with metabolism syndrome

Abstract:Objective To explore the correlation between hyperuricemia and metabolism syndrome in different age, gender patients. Methods One hundred and twenty-two patients with hyperuricemia which treated and diagnosed in our hospital from January 2007 to January 2010 were selected as research objects. Then the rates of obesity, hyperglycaemia, hypertension, high TG, low HDL-C, and metabolism syndrome were compared. The correlation between age, gender and metabolism syndrome was analyzed. Results The rates of obesity, hyperglycaemia, hypertension, high TG, low HDL-C, and metabolism syndrome of patients of ≥60 years old were higher than those of other age. The rates of obesity, hyperglycaemia, hypertension, high TG, low HDL-C, metabolism syndrome of male patients were higher than those of female patients. The correlation between age, gender and metabolism syndrome was significant. The differences were all statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The metabolism syndrome and related indexes of different ages, gender patients with hyperuricemia has significant differences, and there is a obvious correlation between hyperuricemia and metabolism syndrome.
