Breeding of New Monogerm Sugarbeet Variety HIT TianDan 1 with High Quality

Abstract:The new sugarbeet variety HIT-TianDan 1 is a diploid monogerm male steritle hybrid.It was bred by crossing at first a monogerm MS line with a special shaped O-type,then by crossing the obtainable MS line with a diploid pollinator.The result of regional test from 2002 to 2003 in Heilongjiang province showed:the root yield and sugar content and sugar yield were higher than the CK TianYan304 8.0%,-0.12°S,6.9%,respectively.The result of demonstrative trial showed:the root yield and sugar content and sugar yield increased 12.85%,-0.025°S,12.6%than the CK TianYan 304,respectively.The sugar content of the variety is the same as the multergerm CK TianYan 304.So this variety is a monogerm hybrid with higher sugar content in recent years.
