Abstract:The voice coil motor has been applied widely as a linear actuator to generate forces with direct drive, fast response time, simple structure, etc.In order to maximize its performance, considering the principle of economy and performance, an architecture based on micro-controller and various analog circuit modules is proposed in the design of the driver.The micro-controller circuit, H full-bridge driving circuit, current measurement circuit, rectifier and filter circuit and various protection circuits are designed.By simulation and experimental results, the validity of the driver is verified successfully.

Abstract:Easy regulating characteristics of traditional controller and high precision characteristics of ultrasonic motor controller based on direct digital synthesis(DDS) were fully used in order to accurately decouple frequency and amplitude,phase of ultrasonic motor driving voltage.By analyzing the parameters requirement of driving voltage,the sine signal was generated with a rational designed low pass filter by lowpass filtering a square wave,and was amplified to drive an ultrasonic motor.A novel ultrasonic motor control system with accurately decoupled parameters of driving voltage was designed.The relevant parameters of driving voltage can be accurately controlled by adjusting frequency,phase and duty of the square wave.The control system designed by this approach can simultaneously control two ultrasonic motors.The precision of phase and amplitude is better than 10 bits,and the frequency resolution is 16 Hz.

Abstract:In order to improve control performance of multi-degree-of-freedom (M-DOF) ultrasonic motor,modal characteristics and output characteristics of the motor should be tested accurately.A measurement and control platform for torsional-longitudinal 2-DOF motor was put forward,and testing principle and method were also illustrated.By testing the amplitude of the stator surface and the velocity of the rotor,the validity of smooth impact drive method (SIDM) was proved.

Abstract:The multi-degree-of-freedom ultrasonic motor with advantages of high mechanical integration, high control accuracy and anti-EMI, has been widely used in the fields of micro-robotics, optics and precision assembly. In order to enhance the performance and efficiency of the rotary-linear type two-degree-of-freedom(2-DOF) ultrasonic motor, a mathematical model of the stator based on loss coefficients and structural optimization program is designed in this work. Aimed to 2-DOF output performance of the stator, optimization of stator structure parameters is developed under the constraints of the boundary conditions. The relative sensitivity coefficient is introduced to select core optimization parameters. After comprehensive comparison of the effect of various parameters, the prototype motors are fabricated and tested. The trends of experimental data are almost agreed with mathematical model. The performance of optimized motor is significantly improved.

Abstract:A switching circuit system based on FPGA is designed and implemented in this paper to provide high-frequency adjustable-phase voltages for the ultrasonic motor. For the existing drive systems of the ultrasonic motor, the bus voltage is usually 12V DC or 24V DC supporting by an external adapter, the driving voltages of the ultrasonic motor, however, are required to be boosted yet. Then, the step-up transformers are always necessary. Different from that, the novel half-bridge based drive designed in this paper directly applies grid voltage of 220V, 50Hz as the AC input; that is, the external power adapter and the transformers are not necessary anymore. The cost and volume of the drive are subsequently reduced. Furthermore, the input voltages of the ultrasonic motor can be adjusted easily by changing the switching frequency and the conducting time. Meanwhile, a high-order matching circuit is introduced for stabilizing the voltage gain within its operating frequency bandwidth, which leads to a more stable speed regulation performance.

Abstract:This paper proposes a real-time solution to data-driven control for multi-motor-driven mechanisms. The first contribution is that a complete real-time motion control platform is presented, i.e., all the physical controllers in both master and slave levels operate on their own real-time operating systems, and high-speed standard peripheral component interconnect bus interface guarantees an efficient access between the two levels and extensibility of the platform. As a second contribution, the proposed control system is implemented with a data-driven control method that enables the controller design without considering the dynamics model of the system, which highlights its flexibility to diverse controlled plants. Finally, an experimental illustration is presented to verify the proposed scheme, comparison results demonstrate its superior motion control performance.
Research on Inertial Drives of Two-degree-of-freedom Ultrasonic Motors

Abstract:A novel two-degree-of-freedom ultrasonic motor with a single stator was designed,which required a single-phase power to drive rotary and linear motions. A SIDM was proposed which was close to the resonant frequencies. The inertial drive models of the motor was established based on motor construction mechanism and driving principles. The influences of square wave signal parameters on motor performances were analyzed quantitatively. The simulation examples show that the stator surfaces may output suitable sawtooth waves using the asymmetric square wave excitations near the resonant frequencies. The optimum drive frequencies and duty cycles of the square waves are also given. The simple and efficient drive method may eliminate the influences of the phase differences on multiple degree-of-freedom motor performances totally.

Abstract:An automatic testing system used for the electrical and mechanical performances test of ultrasonic motor was presented.In this system,MCU MSP430 from TI is used as the core processor.By making full use of its internal peripheral modules and combining with external sensors and signal processing circuits,various electrical and mechanical performances of ultrasonic motor can be tested.Then the system can be used to evaluate and improve ultrasonic motor.The design method of hardware and the software programming of PC and MCU was introduced in detail.The system has the advantages of rich functions,high test efficiency and convenient operation and so on.

Abstract:In order to meet the needs of operation and management of multiple stepping motors in the current Internet of things environment, this paper designed the software and hardware of the stepping motor drive management system under the control of a single-chip microcomputer based on LabVIEW, which is a graphical programming platform developed by National Instruments Corporation of the United States, and tested and verified the functions of the system. The software part of the system transmitted data between the host computer and the driver terminal based on a service cloud platform called Easy-Control, realizing the network real-time online management operation function. In the hardware design, the existing functions of the STM32F407ZGT6 single-chip microcomputer were combined with the the design of the special driver chip LV8726TA to simplify the circuit design of hardware to increase system stability. The comparison demonstrated that the software and hardware of the system were developed on the LabVIEW platform, which had the advantages of high efficiency, short development cycle, low cost, and convenient function expansion. This work provides a scheme for the design and implementation of similar systems.

Abstract:In this letter, a novel wireless motor system, namely, the wireless ultrasonic motor (WUM) system, is proposed and analyzed. A unique wireless drive topology is designed to solve the problems of the existing wireless drives, such as complex controller and converter at both the transmitting and receiving sides, regular maintenance, and output ripple resulted from motor type and control scheme. The key is to combine the merits of the wireless power transfer and ultrasonic motor to wirelessly energize the ultrasonic motor with high-frequency voltage directly. Meanwhile, a matching inductor is designed for the proposed wireless drive to improve power quality and to filter harmonic voltages at the motor side. Furthermore, laminated coil structure is optimized with electromagnetic decoupled ability and less ferrite core. Two-mode motor control method is designed to extend the speed range of the proposed WUM drive. Finally, operating principles and experimental results are provided to verify the feasibility and correctness of the proposed WUM drive system.

Abstract:Because of using Windows Multimedia Clock, most of existing test system based on General Computer has problems of inaccurate timing and poor real-time capacity. A motor test system is developed for improving above problems and testing more motors simultaneously by serial communication with high baud rate. The test system software uses LabVIEW development platform and is developed with the idea of software engineering, which is used to make each module functionally independent and to improve reliability of the system. Simultaneously the test system uses the characteristic of LabVIEW to complete relatively accurate timing tasks and has excellent portability. In communications, it is used that professional serial port board supporting high baud rate and bus connections. After using the system, it shows that the system is not only reliable, easy to operate, high availability and reduces test costs, but also it is able to meet the needs of the actual test.

Abstract:A measurement and control system based on personal computer(PC) is developed for ultrasonic motor.Speed of ultrasonic motor is unstable in long time running because of the change of piezoelectric ceramics characteristic.The problem is solved in this system.Fluctuation of motor speed could be controlled within 3 % based on proportional integral(PI) control algorithm.Experimental results also show that fuzzy plus PI controller is feasible for precise position control of ultrasonic motor in this system,and position precision could be implemented within 0.09°.

Abstract:The hardware platform used in studying multi-agent design and realization by Tsinghua RoboCup group is introduced.A speed-current double-closed-loop control system without speed sensor for micro drag cup DC motor is mainly studied,and the simple and effective motor control method and motor parameter measurement method are put forward.Furthermore,the advantages and shortcomings in using current inner-loop are contrastively discussed and analysed.Finally the total control procedure and system optimization adopted in control are described.

Abstract:In view of the Manufacturing Engineering Comprehensive Practice course,a multi-motor drive platform system has been developed,which provides the assembly and test services for typical mechanical system models.The circuit of this platform partly uses the STC89C52 SCM(single chip microcontroller)to implement the control,including the voltage regulation,the filtering,the power amplification,etc.,which can realize the forward and backward rotation,speed regulation and stepping control of many DC motors and stepping motors,and has the infrared remote control function at the same time.This platform furnishes an open programming environment,which provides an extensible teaching experimental platform for the assembly and test in mechatronics teaching.
