Abstract:The controller for a brush-less DC motor based on LIN bus is developed with the overall structure and the implementation of hardware and software described in detail.The test results show that the controller is stable,reliable,meeting the design requirements.

Abstract:To lower the cost of brushless DC motor controller,designed a new speed control method using hall effect position sensors to provide speed measurements which can work without a high resolution encoder.A fuzzy logic controller was used to fix the system's instability and poor performance of speed adjusting,both of which were caused by the uneven speed sample rate.This method was simulated on computer by Simulink software.A sewing machine control system was also designed employing this new method using TMS320F28027 digital signal processor.The result of experiments showed that system worked stably and effectively.

Abstract:The voice coil motor has been applied widely as a linear actuator to generate forces with direct drive, fast response time, simple structure, etc.In order to maximize its performance, considering the principle of economy and performance, an architecture based on micro-controller and various analog circuit modules is proposed in the design of the driver.The micro-controller circuit, H full-bridge driving circuit, current measurement circuit, rectifier and filter circuit and various protection circuits are designed.By simulation and experimental results, the validity of the driver is verified successfully.

Abstract:A dual mode control method of brushless DC motor(BLDCM) either with position sensor or sensorless was presented.The controller worked with position sensor under normal condition,but it would switch to the sensorless mode automatically once the position sensor was broken down or the signal wire got disconnected.The mode tran-sition technology and sensorless rator position detecting technology were mainly discussed.Under the sensorless mode,by using short pulse test method based on the magnetic saturation effect of the stator iron and the maximum probability method,the position of the rator still or at low speed could be located.By using the back EMF zero-crossing point detecting method,the rator's position could be located at higher speed.

Abstract:Several new methods are proposed to deal with the issues of the driver controller of the brushless DC (BLDC) motor in research of the door motor unit in the rail transit system. 1. The BLDC motor has some inherent problems, i.e., it has high torque ripples and bad performance at low speed. To solve these, taking into consideration errors caused by current regulation and starting from the angle of engineering application, we use the new method of scanning the rotor positions at regular time. With this method, the dynamic response speed and the dynamic performance at low speed are improved, the torque ripples are suppressed and starting problems of the BLDC motor are solved. 2. In the industrial environment, the friction of the door rail, the wind in the hole and man disturbances are taken into account in the design. The moving distance of the door is calculated to produce the velocity profile by contrasting with the given distance. This method is superior to the conventional algorithm that determines the velocity profile by means of time nodes. The position error algorithm is presented for obstacle detection. Experiment results show that the proposed methods reduce the cost of the hardware and improve the robustness and performance of the door motor system.

Abstract:Abstract This paper designs a direct current (DC) motor controller based on Arduino and Simulink to solve the problems of poor openness, complicated programming and difficult signal detection of the existing teaching experimental equipment. The controller integrates the Model-Based Design (MBD) concept, involving single-chip microcomputer, system modeling, micromotor, automatic control and other technologies. The hardware system includes Arduino, encoder, driver, input/output and other interfaces. The software system uses Simulink as the software development platform of the experimental device. It has the functions of algorithm design, simulation, execution, real-time data observation, etc. The limiting incremental PID control algorithm is used to control the speed of the DC motor, and the experimental results verify the design requirements. The hardware and software systems have the characteristics of good openness, fast implementation, safe and reliable, low cost, can complete the verification and improvement of various algorithms such as motor control, and can meet the teaching and research needs of the training of new engineering and technology.

Abstract:A nonlinear optimization PID controller for BLDCM is designed. The design method is based on the fuzzy model for BLDCM other than conventional math model on some assumed conditions. The fuzzy model is gained through Neuro-Fuzzy identification. By virtue of Nonlinear Control Design(NCD) Toolbox in Matlab the controller is easily developed. Simulation and experiment result that the identified model fits the real BLDCM well and the designed controller has fairly strong robust performance.

Abstract:Aiming at the instability problem of a four-wheel independent drive electric bus under high-speed conditions, this paper first designs a vehicle yaw stability controller based on a linear two-degree-of-freedom model and a linear quadratic programming (LQR) algorithm. A vehicle roll stability controller is then designed based on a linear three-degree-of-freedom model and a model predictive control algorithm (MPC). Moreover, a coordinated control rule based on the lateral load transfer rate (LTR) is designed for the coupled problem of yaw and roll dynamics. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm is verified by simulation. The obtained results show that when the vehicle is running at a high speed of 90 km/h, the stability control algorithm can control the yaw rate tracking error within 0.05 rad/s. In addition, the control algorithm can reduce the maximum amplitude of the side slip angle, the maximum value of the roll angle, the maximum value of the roll angular velocity, and the amplitude of the lateral acceleration by more than 96%, 81.1%, 65.0%, and 11.1%, respectively.

Abstract:Based on analyzing the principle of position sensorless control for brushless DC motor (BLDCM), a control system employing back-EMF method was designed for the position-sensorless electric vehicle (EV). In order to eliminate the influence on back-EMF detection circuit from motor neutral point and RC filter, the system disconnected the reference point of detection circuit from battery cathode, and did the phase-shifting compensation of back-EMF. To improve the stability and reliability of the system, neural network PID (NNPIID) control algorithm was researched and applied to the system. The controller comprises a back propagation (BP) NN and a radial basis function (RBF) NN. The former is used to adaptively adjust the parameters of the PID controller on-line. The later is used to establish nonlinear prediction model and perform parameter prediction. The experimental results show that the control system of position-sensorless EV can overcome the disturbance of phase shifting, successfully achieve position-sensorless commutation control and replace Hall sensors. In addition, when using NNPID controller, the control system is superior to that using traditional PID controller at response speed, steady-state tracking error and resisting perturbation in the driving process.

Abstract:Brushless DC Motor is a kind of a new motor which commutation signals replaces traditional motor mechanical structure with electronic signals. Square wave brushless DC motor can be divided into sensor motor and sensorless motor. Position sensor will increase system cost, motor size and maintenance difficulty, which bring about limitation and limits to promote its application in all areas. This project designs sensorless BLDC Motor control system with the core of the stm32 micro-controller and uses Back-EMF zero-crossing detection method. In the system designing software control algorithm, drawing schematic diagram of hardware and making PCB board have been completed dependently. The experimental results show that the system can well realize the starting and running of sensorless BLDC Motor control system, and have a good measure of protection.

Abstract:On the base of an analysis on the virtues and defects of different motor control algorithms for four-wheel hub motor drive electric vehicle, a novel multi-mode motor control algorithm is proposed, in which vector control or block commutation control is adopted for high-speed driving, and sinusoidal voltage control or vector control for braking and low-speed drive. In view of the complexity of multi-mode control for hub motor, the Stateflow tool box in Matlab/Simulink is used to achieve control mode switching, the vehicle control algorithm is implemented in Matlab/Simulink environment and downloaded to MPC5633M microcontroller through full-automatic code generation to assure the reliable switching of multi-mode motor control. The results of simulation and experiment demonstrate the feasibility of the algorithm, leading to the reduction in motor noise and the improvement in vehicle performance.

Abstract:CAN-bus is a typical bus control technology, and is now widely applied in many areas.In view of the characteristics of the electric vehicle body, this paper puts forward a plan that applies CAN-bus technology to build electric vehicle body network. In terms of the electric vehicle body system, it needs to resolve several issues: One is to simplify electronic wiring harness as far as possible, and the other is to ensure the normal data communications. In this article, the body electrical is divided into different nodes in accordance with the principles of proximity, each node controls a certain area of electrical equipment, and at the same time, communicates with other nodes through CAN bus. CAN bus used SAE1939 agreement and defined message through this agreement. Each body node of the circuit includes main circuit board and extended board. The main circuit can achieve the requirements of data communications; the extended board can achieve the expansion of body electrical. The circuits are divided into several modules in application with circuit modular design approach. Every module was respectively developed by embedded software system through some software development tools, at the same time, tested the entire body CAN network communications systems. After the test, the entire body of communications network can meet the requirements.

Abstract:The conventional research on Mecanum vehicle mainly focuses on the analysis of its kinematic and dynamic model, while the characteristics of its driving motor are seldom considered. This paper is based on the kinematic and dynamic model of the four-wheel Mecanum vehicle, as well as the mathematical model of brushless DC motor (BLDC); by the combination of these two models, this paper presents the mechatronic modeling and simulation of the omni-directional four-wheel Mecanum vehicle driven by BLDC. This mechatronic model has been implemented with the S-function in Matlab/Simulink in this paper, and a PI controller has been employed to perform a simulation of this model. This model can not only be applied as a pseudo-entity when designing motion controller, but also be used to verify the reasonableness of other control algorithms, which offers a new way of designing and debugging the actual mecanum-wheeled mechatronic system. © 2011 IEEE.

Abstract:In electric vehicle (EV) systems, bi-directional DC/DC converters are applied to interface the battery bank with the high voltage DC-link of the inverter. The control of the DC-link voltage is important for the high performance of the system. A DC-link voltage control strategy for the bidirectional DC/DC converter is proposed, which eliminates the need for detecting the operating mode and do not need to change the control loop when the modes transfer between the motor driving mode and the regenerative braking mode. The dynamic model of the bi-directional DC/DC converter with the constant power load is built. Afterward design of the proposed control is presented. Finally, a prototype is built to validate the proposed DC-link voltage control strategy and evaluate the dynamic performance.

Abstract:The positionless brushless DC motor has the advantages of simple structure, good speed performance and high efficiency. It has become the best choice for horizontal well tractor. This paper introduces a set of brushless DC motor control system, gives the hardware structure of the system and brushless DC motor without Hall sensor control flow chart and the host computer communication interface protocol which solves the problem of phase lag in the case of high speed motor. Aiming at the problem that the parameters of the motor can not be monitored, the host computer monitoring program based on c# can be designed to monitor the parameters of the motor in real time. The experimental results show that the control system can make the motor run smoothly at different speeds, and can monitor the parameter s of the motor in real time, suitable for the horizontal well logging and so on the motor control system requires relatively high industrial environment.

Abstract:Control schemes of brushless DC motor are always achieved in the way of program,but the period of the project is long,and the process is complex because of hard work programming.While dSPACE is a software and hardware platform for the real-time control system based on Matlab/Simulink.It has no program,but excellent real-time performance and high reliability.The time of the development is short.On the basis of dSPACE BLDCM system,build the motors 3-phase back EMF based on S-function and implemented the speed closed-loop control of BLDCM in Matlab/Simulink.Then built the actual system on the dSPACE platform,and debuged the line parameter by ControlDesk.The experiment Result verified the superior performance of BLDCM and the reliability of the platform,which offers foundation for the design of more complex control algorithms.

Abstract:Abstract : Recently, many types of electric vehicles including a heavy duty vehicle have been developed and released because of the better fuel economy and less gas products. In this study, research about an electric bus which utilizes the wheel motor drive system was conducted. The wheel motor is a motor connected to the wheel directly only with a simple gear so that the developer can utilize the space efficiently and the whole system efficiency will be better because of simple structure. However, because it is different from former types of vehicles which use the differential gear, the development of the integrated control logic is required in order to meet the vehicle stability and driving performance. The developed control logic is composed with direct yaw moment control, regenerative braking control and slip control logics. It is compared to the control logics which does not consist of direct yaw moment control and slip control when the vehicle is exposed in tough situations. For the unification of the control logic, a few maps were developed and applied to determine the output torque of each motor according to the driving status. As a result, it is shown that the developed control logic is more safe and well follow the target speed than the other control logic applied simulations.
