Expression of Survivin and Bcl-2 in Endometriosis and Their Significance

Abstract:Objective:To detect the expression of anti-apoptosis Survivin and Bcl-2 in endometriosis,and to explore the role of apoptosis in the pathogenesis of endometriosis. Methods:The expression of Survivin and Bcl-2 were detected by EnVision method of immunohistochemistry in 40 cases of ectopic endometrium with endometriosis,28 cases of eutopic endometrium with endometriosis and 30 cases with normal endometrium. Apoptosis index in eight blocks of normal endometrium,eight blocks of ectopic endometrium and six blocks of eutopic endometrium was detected by TUNEL. Results:The positive expression rate of Survivin in ectopic endometrium,eutopic endometrium and normal endometrium was 75.00%,50.00% and 3.33% respectively,Bcl-2 was 80.00%,57.14% and 23.33% respectively. The expression of Survivin and Bcl-2 in ectopic endometrium and eutopic endometrium were higher than that of the normal endometrium(P0.05). The expression of Survivin and Bcl-2 in ectopic endometriun and eutopic endometrium with endometriosis were positive correlation with each other(P0.01). Apoptosis index in ectopic endometrium and eutopic endometrium with endometriosis were(5.13±1.73)%,(22.00±3.85)%,respectively,which were both lower than that of the normal endometrium(P0.05). Conclusion:Survivin and Bcl-2 can inhibit cell apoptosis in endometrisis,favor abnormal proliferative,so they may contribute to the formation and progression of endometriosis. Survivin and Bcl-2 in endometriosis may cooperatively take part in the formation and progression of endometriosis.
