Abstract:The Harmonious Culture is the quintessence of humanistic spirit of Chinese culture.It emphasizes that things are made of by different factors which are dissimilar and complementary to each other and closely cohesive.It expresses the dialectical thinking and system concept of Chinese culture,and also shows the existing diversity of objective things and the unity of these diverse things.In current China where pluralistic cultures co-exist,various social trends of thought and all kinds of values are flourishing,it has important practical significance to scientifically understand and correctly explore the Chinese Harmonious Culture and to fully absorb its beneficial ingredients for building the Socialistic Core Value System,integrating multiple values and consolidating socialist ideology.

Abstract:Subjective well-being is the holistic assessment of individuals' quality of life based on their own standards,which is influenced by the culture of their nation.And the subjective well-being of Chinese people is affected by Chinese traditional culture.The core elements of Chinese traditional culture are Chinese cultural values,which were generated in the pre-Qin philosophers of the times and still have significant influence on the mind and behavior of Chinese people.Many researchers have studied the models of Chinese cultural values.Cross-cultural and indigenous researches of the concept and construct of subjective well-being of Chinese people will shed light on the mechanism of how Chinese cultural values influence subjective well-being of Chinese people.

Abstract:This study aims to develop a scale for measuring professional social work values with particular relevance to the Chinese context. The Chinese social work values scale consists of five dimensions, including basic rights, social responsibility and justice, self-determination, mutual care, and potential for change. The findings of this study indicate that the Chinese social work value system has minor differences in specific constructs and in the ranking order of value dimensions from Western models. Empirical evidence further demonstrates that fair recognition is given to each dimension by Chinese social workers, though generally with less commitment to social work values.

Abstract:This paper deeply discusses the value and influence of Chinese traditional culture in the contemporary cultural and creative arts industry. First of all, it introduces the basic concept, development course and the role of Chinese traditional culture and cultural and creative arts industry in today's social and economic development. Secondly, it analyzes the application practice of traditional Chinese cultural elements in the cultural and creative arts industry, including product design, creative planning and value dissemination. Then, it deeply analyzes the positive impact of calligraphy, painting, ceramics and other representative fields on the contemporary market after combining modern design concepts. At the same time, the possible problems and challenges in the process of integration are discussed. Finally, this paper summarizes the role of the government in promoting cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, and looks forward to the future development.

Abstract:Culture is the cumulative deposit of knowledge, traditions, beliefs acquired by a human community in the course of generations: ethics is one of the most important of such beliefs. As for the intercultural communication, the discipline which studies a cultural dialogue about various issues across different communities, since the eighties of the last century it has been the object of various theories, based on experimental data collections: among them the ‘Values Orientation Theory’ by F.R. Kluckhohn and F. Strodtbeck, the ‘Cultural Dimensions Theory’ by G. Hofstede and the ‘Theory of Basic Values’ by S.H. Schwartz. One of the goals of this paper is to give a closer look at those theories. In the same period of time an ‘ethical turn’ manifested itself in western literary studies, after a long period of post-modernist disengagement, by initiative of J. Gardner, M. C. Nussbaum and J. Habermas, among others: the same happened in China in the eve of the new millennium, owing to the studies on comparative literature by Nie Zhenzhao. Literary works constitute an important vehicle of ethical intercultural communication. A second goal of the present paper is that of suggesting a ‘constructivist approach’ in the cultural dialogue between the western world and China, combining the results of those theoretical models with a comparative analysis of literary works chosen ad hoc, as recently done by Xu Zhilin in her comparative study of female images in ‘A leaf in the storm’, by Lin Yutang, and ‘Gone with the wind’, by Margareth Mitchell, from the perspective of Hofstede’s Cultural Dimension Theory.

Abstract:China,a country with long-standing culture, has been experiencing major social changes since the 1980s. Knowing the values orientation of its people is of critical importance. In order to explore the specific traits of Chinese values systems, two studies were conducted following the indigenous approach. At first,the original value items, collected by open questionnaire, sorted into general items by multiple individuals. After the pretest, the preliminary Chinese Value Instrument (CVI) was constructed, which has 79 items. We collected data from 2089 people,and results revealed 11 dimensions of Chinese people: Morale standards, Social harmony, Achievement & power, Mental development, Deploitation & risk, Stability, Familism, Happiness, Renqing & guanxi, Self-direction, Zhongyong, which could be further classified into two categories: "Yin (阴)" and "Yang (阳)". This research also found that the guiding values of Chinese people are Familism, Morale standards,Mental development,and that the differences in values between male and female are not significant.

Abstract:Over the past two decades, China has been changing dramatically toward a market-oriented society, particularly in urban areas, which may undermine the traditional cultural and religious systems. Individualistic ideologies and values are required for adjustment and success in the new competitive environment and are increasingly appreciated by individuals, especially in the young generations. This chapter focuses on cultural values and their relations with adjustment in Chinese youth from urban, rural, and rural-to-urban migrant backgrounds. There is emerging evidence suggesting differences between the urban and rural adolescents in their cultural values. Whereas group orientation and social connectedness continue to be valued among rural and urban adolescents, urban adolescents are more likely than their rural counterparts to appreciate and approve the expression of personal distinctiveness and develop a "unitary and stable" self that is separate from social context. Moreover, among urban, but not rural or migrant, adolescents, values of uniqueness have become important for the development of social status in the peer group and school achievement. As a future direction, it will be interesting to explore how adolescents in China integrate diverse values in their adaptation to the changing sociocultural context.

Abstract:Summary Social work agencies in China are encountering issues like lack of social perception, social recognition, and public participation and insufficient competitiveness of their professional services. To discuss solutions to these problems, this study adopts a different perspective than existing studies, focusing on professional identity construction among social work agencies. It provides an effective theoretical framework that includes value, contextual, and symbolic identity construction embedded in the Chinese administrative institution. Findings Positive and negative factors influencing the construction of professional cultural, status, and brand identity among social work agencies and approaches are identified. In the context of government purchasing of public services, the professional cultural identity of Chinese social work agencies can integrate with traditional Chinese culture and Western social work values to enhance the cultural consciousness and introspection of agencies. Professional status identity helps agencies access government resources and establish professional authority. Professional brand identity can increase the identification of the agencies under the political features of party construction. The combination of the three can promote the development of Chinese social work. Applications Professional identity construction offers a new perspective to improve the credibility, competitiveness, and public recognition of social work agencies in China to attract social participation and perform the function of social governance more effectively. Social organizations can improve their professional status and brand identities by refining their professional cultural and promotional systems, fostering the development of institutional credibility, and cultivating professional service projects.

Abstract:Having gone through the vicissitudes of a history of thousands of years, the Chinese culture was firmly established on the basis of patriarchal clan system and small-scale farming economy, with aesthetic aspiration as its character -until recent times. When hit hard by western military forces, the Chinese people looked back on their own tradition with a hurt pride. They started to replace aesthetic aspiration with pursuit of technical progress, and learned to partition their culture into two opposed parts -the advanced and the backward. Abstract:Social solidarity can be achieved through collective consciousness,or the division of labor and resource exchange. This article takes traditional cultural values as a manifestation of collective consciousness on the individual level. With the typology of social solidarity according to the trusting relationship,we explore how traditional cultural values and resource exchange in contemporary society interact with each other to enhance social solidarity. This paper promotes existing theories from three aspects: 1. This paper makes clear that there are two interaction modes between traditional cultural values and resource exchange the promotion effect and the moderation effect. 2. This article examines both positive and negative interactions between traditional cultural values and resource exchange. 3. Based on the various manifestations of social solidarity, we illustrate the heterogeneity of the interaction between traditional cultural values and resource exchange. This paper verifies the proposed theoretical arguments,by analyzing the data from the China Social Credit System Survey in 2011 and the Chinese General Social Survey in 2017.
