Study on Woody Flora of Danxia Landform in Xishui Natural Reserve

Abstract:In order to investigate the characteristics of flora areal differentiation and forest plant formations in Danxia landform,and to reveal the intimate relationships between ancient geographical environment and vegetation characteristics,to accumulate theory data for further research of flora in Xishui,meanwhile to provide references for the protection,utilization,and related researches for China danxia world natural heritage,study on the characteristics of woody flora in Xishui Natural Reserve were systematically conducted.The results showed that there were 910species of woody plants in the reserve,which belong to 103families in 307genera.Among them the gymnosperm had 19species,14genera in 7families,the angiosperm had 890species,292genera in 95families with dicotyledon 853species,280genera in 92families,and monocotyledon 37species,12genera in 3families,and 1species of fern.For the composition,small-to-mid size genera and families took larger proportion,Rosaceae was dominant family,and Rubus was dominant genus.In the areal-type of families,subtropic and temperate accounted 57.47%and 39.08%,respectively,and in areal-type of genera,both of them accounted for 51.67%and 44.33%,respectively.Therefore,the flora elements are complicated coming from different geographical types,and had the characteristics of transition from sub-tropical to warm temperate.In the flora,15species of national level rare and endangered were found in the natural reserve,with important protective values.
